I've just experienced this, and it's been terrible. I became friends with a boy i had no interest in initally, he is emotionally unavailable (got cheated on + doesn't want a relationship) but wanted to get to know me so bad anyways. I've just experienced this, and it's been terrible. I became friends with a boy i had no interest in initally, he is emotionally unavailable (got cheated on + doesn't want a relationship) but wanted to get to know me so bad anyways. Showered me with compliments, flirted every day, texted me all day and kept me up at night. He cuddled me, gave me forehead kisses, we almost kissed once and i felt the tension between us. I fell head over heels for him. Then he started getting colder and colder, claimed to be busy, and in the end told me I had misunderstood everything and basically friendzoned me, even if i didn't tell him i liked him.
Throughout the whole time he told me he was afraid, confused, but his fears were compensated by the desire to get to know me. He told me we "teased each other too much and too fast". Worst experience I've ever had in a while, it's painful to see how he doesn't care about me now😭 i wanted to talk to him but he said he was busy. Now we're not talking but I'm in pain and I miss him often, i have no idea why would anybody do this to another person.

Men do this even when they don't have to do it. Case in point: Got out of a bad marriage and quickly reconnected with an ex ( I broke his heart eons ago). I told him I just wanted him for sex, and he was down with it. Then he kept making references to being in a relationship in the future and I shot it down every time b/c I didn't believe him. Even said he loved me and had feelings for me. He was very persistent, so when I finally let my guard down and believed him, on came the games. Made no sense for him to lie b/c I never asked him for a relationship or even said the word relationship, but obviously I wasn't going to jump out of a marriage into a serious relationship right away. Once I finally believed it and made it known, cold shoulder.

You'd think if he meant what he had been saying he would have said he'd want something serious w/ me but nope; chose chasing dysfunction.
