Don’t do it plz. No sense in beating a dead horse
They did let Ray do hundreds of good videos. Exit might be a blessing in disguise.

I think it’s time to open your own shop !
My thoughts exactly.
Mechanics usually making little money with huge payments for their tool dealers.
I agree fully…what a great opportunity to run a successful, honest professional and trustworthy business
Exactly what I was thinking!
Yup.
Ray the shop has lost a valuable employee in you. You carry the correct worth ethic and life attitude within you. You like what you do, and you have exceptional skills and a loyal following. Wherever you go, you will help people and find the real issue the core issue to their mechanical problems and you fix that when they’ll authorize the work. This is not always the case.
Interesting to rewatch this video 9 months later knowing how things worked out beyond great for you -- you did rightly, Ray!
Yes. Pitstop lost an honest mechanic. Maybe that was the intention.
Sir, Having been a line mechanic for sixteen years, I have had to remind certain people that there is a reason why tool boxes have wheels on them. You have a flawless work ethic sir. I would love to have you as my mechanic. And it would be a true honor to know you. Take care of yourself sir !!!

I don't mean to sound sarcastic but, you might as well flip burgers for the improvement in pay if you can handle the more physically challenging job of flipping burgers that can also be more mentally challenging in assuring that the food is properly cooked and nobody gets sick from lack of attention.
I know both the security business as well as the food business and honestly speaking, If you want to get anywhere in security, I suggest applying to Homeland Security, Police services, even for Brinks for that matter because doing nothing but watching servailence monitors or driving around playing pretend a cop will not feed a family.
Your choice, do what you need to do to be happy, pay the bills, and budget/ make some sacrifices in order to put something away for the future.
Don't take this as a put down, because it isn't, complaining gets you nowhere, why look for pity instead of taking action to be where you would like to be, otherwise it's like you are standing next to the mailbox waiting for the food stamps to arrive, and if you’re okay with that, all that I ask is that people stop complaining about what others are making and put in a little mental and physical effort to get yourself to rise above! I sincerely hope that you do!
Yep! Me too.
The shop has lost one of the most honest mechanics I have ever watched, goodluck for the future Ray, huge respect from the UK!
Some shops don't want an honest mechanic. I was forced to quit job at Just Brakes, because I wouldn't sell shit that the customer didn't need.
@@josephkostinko739 My intuition tells me that this is exactly why he was let go. I love it that he's opened up his own shop and is expanding. I think this was a blessing in disguise, truly!
His honesty is why they don’t want him.
It's difficult to have an unbiased reason for his departure since we were never fully informed as to the reason. Who knows what was lurking on the other side of the camera?
Good luck for whatever you decide on the future. I’m sure an excellent mechanic such as yourself will be a great success. I’m sure they will be back at you to return after half of their customers disappear.
You should start your own shop, I think you have a large enough following to start a brand of your own.
hope all goes well!
You are the mechanic that I would want working on my car. I hope things work out for you soon.
me too any day of the week
A good mechanic friend of mine always said “they put wheels on a toolbox for a reason “. He’s a great mechanic and has a great work ethic like you but always said if management doesn’t treat him right it’s off to the next shop. I’m sure you’ll land on your feet and be an asset wherever you park your toolboxes. 👍🏻
One boss told me you have wheels on your toolbox for a reason it can roll in the front door and it can roll out the back door there's a shop across the street do you want me to help you push there to work.
I'm willing to bet it's because you're so honest and not overcharging people by pumping up the price for things they don't need.
It is you Ray. Own that. I know you are a man, and you will do just that. I am 60, and retired, and when I heard this I felt your pain. Having principles is, in fact, a heavy burden in a career, and it can cost you. But don't despair. I look in the mirror now and I am happy with who is looking back. And you will too.
Some people are just better doing things their way over all. It's not a character flaw, it just is. Embrace it and move forward. I see no reason with his skill he couldn't run his own shop.
Yup, if you don't have to be in an environment where you are unhappy, it's best for everyone if you leave. ✅️

My late father had a good expression " people don't get fired due to incompetence but due to incompatibility " . He spent the next 30 plus years working for himself and had no problems whatsoever ☺ Good luck to you , you are a credit to the generation of people who can work totally independent and yet share their talents openly with others.
That's exactly what I did. I gave a company 12 years of my time before they let me go. A few weeks later, the supervisor that fired me got fired. Shortly afterwards they asked me to come back but I had already picked up a couple jobs before they called me back so I told them no and continued working for myself. This June will be ten years of being self employed and I couldn't be happier.

Which might very well be the problem going forward.
Dont change your self, corp repair processes are crap. Bottom line short term is onlytarget now days
@@generalharness8266 Well, it also reveals tricks to self diagnosing your own problems, they may perceive that as competition. In my experience though, that's all horsecrap. The people who are going to work on their own cars, are going to do it anyways, and the ones who won't would pay a shop even if they knew how to fix it because they don't want to work on cars. It's like pirating music and TV shows, most pirates wouldn't pay anyways, they're not losing money.
If he presented to another shop as free marketing and shows his subscriber count, it could be an asset to the business, as well as more $ both in pay and continued video revenue.
I had a car fall on me and after I was well enough to get my tools they had stolen about $20,000.00 worth of Snap-On tools out of my box. I paid the big bucks they got for free!
Glad you got your stuff asap. Hope to see more videos, as I can no longer work. Keep positive, you're one of the good guys.
That moment of reflection is a good thing to have. I'm the shop foreman and senior tech at my shop as well as being the primary heavy line tech(I'm the odd guy that absolutely loves heavy line). These last few weeks I've had something nagging in my head that I couldn't quite pick up on and it finally hit me this week. I'm mostly nice in conversation, but when working I'm unapproachable and come off as grouchy when I don't intend to be. As a result, starting about Tuesday of this week, I went to all of my techs in a one-on-one as well as the office and apologized to each person and offered to make amends and try to right any wrongs they may have felt. After that, I've made a conscious effort to be more positive, greet my coworkers, and try to be helpful in every situation I can. I hate toxicity in a shop so it really bothered me when I realized I was becoming one of the toxic factors of the place. The week went well. I'm going to continue with that because it really did make for a better week, especially leaving Friday and seeing my coworkers laughing and joking rather than just scatter from the parking lot. That told me that, even if I don't yet know how big my negative impact was, I know that the people that work with me were happy and that made me happy. Ray, best of luck with whatever is next!
Good on you for admitting your faults and trying to be a better person. Keep up the awesome work legend.
That's so cool. Glad to hear you're working on yourself like that, making the world better one person at a time.
The first times i caught myself at being shitty were quite the shock.
I still cringe like you wouldn't believe whenever i realize that some bad interaction i had was largely or entirely my fault but the first few times were like a mule kicking me in the balls.
"The others" had "of course" always been the problem before that.
Wow! Most people wouldn't be able to do that.
Best move! Last few years have been hell for everyone, I mean real hell, the last thing anyone wants to deal with is a toxic work environment. I am not surprised that the youngsters don't want to work as they have witnessed their parents and grandparents getting beat up daily by their employers and coworkers and sometimes it has gone on for their entire life.
Sometimes when people don't like to hear the truth, it becomes the "personality" conflicts.
Keep doing you bro.
This is been very true in my recent experience. Bright side is now that I have seen it happen....it won't be such a shock in the future.

Remember, he’s making 2 trips today
I once knew a feller whut had his own mechanicin' abilities and tools n such. He worked for the man long enough to buy himself a good tow truck rig. Built a big pole barn steel building with heat and plumbing n such. Had a pit in it and a hydraulic lift it did. Figgured he'd work for himself AT HOME. Kept a STACK of customer's cars comin' and a-goin'. Constant! had more work than he could handle! Got to where he could pick n choose. He's happy. Blasts his Rush and Uriah Heep and Judas Priest and cracks open a couple-a cold ones here n there. Gets to be with family the whole time.
I seriously couldn't imagine driving more than 30 minutes to get to work. Like Jesus find something closer or move closer to where there's work! Or work from home somehow! My job is 15-20 minutes away from my home and it's in another city adjacent to the one I'm in... and that's close to my limit. It's less than 1 gallon a day in my economy car.
I think that might include driving back home to get his other trailer for his tool boxes.

I think it probably is. Don't get me wrong -- I love Ray's channel, I love his content, I think he's an awesome mechanic. But he's something of a perfectionist. Those guys tend to always struggle with their managers -- because they're following different imperatives, Managers are all about maximizing profit, perfectionists are all about the quality of the work. It's a tension that can often result in blow-ups. The only way to really resolve it is, like everyone is suggesting, to start your own business -- but that requires a very different skill-set than just wrenching on cars.

They don't want to pay a good mechanic jack. Full of diversity hires. Then there's the customers. Especially here.
They do it to save money. Some new manager comes in fresh out of school with a degree in business management and starts doing what he was taught to do.
Ray, that sucks. I hope to see you open your own small business one day. You got this bro.
that's possibly the venture he's going for he wanted to wait till whatever is plans are finalized before leaving himself. I'm callin it now, he's opening his own shop.
They just lost the best mechanic they would ever want, Remember that Ray! You'll find something.
I dont understand the motivation of the boss/owner. The guys got permission to film his day, which obviously has an effect on his productivity. But the thought of tossing a guy thats obviously solid and with integrity in a line of work that often lacks both in many consumers eyes. He wasnt really pimping the shop he worked at, but as far as the local community that they service its nice advertising, if nothing else his presence and history on youtube is a nice example that this was a good shop. Seems dumb to get rid of someone like that for anything short of gross misconduct.
No.I'd do the same if I were his boss. In his videos you can see work safety violations and his boss doesn't need headaches, you know? You never know who's watching the videos.I also have a business and my employees are not allowed to film...if it was your business you would understood, it doesn't matter who it is or what it does, the most important thing is to sleep peacefully at night.
Yeah mate 100% your right, I’m sure the boss gave him the offer to either stop the videos or you’ll have to move on. Fair imo
@@mrmrmrcaf7801 and now his shop is going to be decimated. Gotta learn to pick your battles.
@@mrmrmrcaf7801 How many of those safety violations are because of the company though? Remember the lift they wouldn't fix and he had to keep using it?
I don't know you well enough to say if it was you and I've only watched one other video besides this one. But I can tell you that I found you very informative. I crossed my mind that you'd be a fantastic teacher. You don't use foul language and you seem to have a bright disposition. Best wishes for your future endeavors. God bless you
Full respect Ray, maybe time to go on your own, a couple of good lads with you and you'll thrive, whatever you decide I wish you well from the U. K. 🇬🇧
Im retired. I discovered this channel about a year ago. I've since watched ALL the videos from the start up till today. I don't know, I feel sad. However all the best to you Ray. I know things will work out for you. You're an amazing human being.
It's about time you opened your own shop, GOOD ON YOU RAY!!!
from comments he has made in past videos I do believe this may be the path he is on, like when he was working on this truck and the lifts will not lift his truck he mentioned his new lifts will not have that problem I do hope this is the case
And poach the best staff from your old shop. If they didn’t appreciate you, they wont appreciate them, either.
I have sat here and watched you be a better mechanic than most other people would. Kept digging deeper for a diagnosis rather than replacing major components. You are the best Ray and you will move on to bigger and better things!
Many places don't like that.. they want you to be productive, not perfect.
@@Bryan-Hensley Once i started watching Rays videos and realized that. I started to work on my own cars rather than taking them to shops to be repaired.
@@Bryan-Hensley Yeah, today most effort goes into engineering things to break sooner rather than last longer. Can't have mechanics screw that up by fixing the root problem!
@@Bryan-Hensley they want sales warranted or otherwise. Productivity doesn't matter if no parts and services are sold.
Onwards and upwards. The very best of luck from here in the UK! Two things my dad said one time when I was venturing into the unknown -
'Look forward, never look back' and
'Regret the things you've done, not the things you didn't do'
I've lived watching your videos, you're very professional in what you do. I also like your sense of humour! Long may it continue.
Please keep your content coming. As a non-mechanic I've learnt so much from your videos and your easy going and laid back approach has really helped me with my diagnostic and repair confidence. I wish you all the success for whatever you have planned for the future. Please don't let this be the final 'click'
Ray's got to open up his own shop hopefully called the" Doodle Do Shop"
He should open a Kickstarter campaign and send those of us that contribute to his shop some swag or something. I would definitely donate to him and not expect an ownership stake at all. A t-shirt, bumper sticker o some such items.
I was going to suggest Gravity Garage.
How about Click Click Zoom!
If Ray had his very own shop I'm sure he would have the phone sound like the doors to the control room on the U.S.S. Enterprise ( star trek ) or something much cooler like that. ( less irritating too )
11 years ago I had a big disagreement with my employer at the time .his word were,if you think you know more than me to open a shop and do it yourself .he then said I wouldn’t last 1 year .11 years later I’m still going strong, happy with where and what I do and i never looked back.
Your a hard ,detailed worker with strong and clear opinions and that’s a asset .open your own place and look at this as the push to go do you.good luck and keep up the killer vids
I am guessing that you very quickly learned what it was that put you crosswise with your previous employer and adjusted your opinion accordingly. I remember the prick that ran the plant where I had my first job. After I went somewhere else and had his responsibility I had to smile every time I did just what he did, only now I understood why.
Take a break man, you've earned it. One truly honest guy. I wish you all the best from Ireland. Please get back on here soon 🙏
For someone like you, that's not an average mechanic, but someone that other mechanics, especially those newer ones that are just starting out, can learn from and see what a true professional is like. Your mechanical skills are exceptional, but your customer service really sets you apart and makes you incredibly valuable. For someone like me, a shade tree mechanic, I would love to have a mechanic like you to go to for me and my friends and family... someone we could trust and let others know about
its hard to soar like an eagle when you are surrounded by turkeys. You are a free man now Ray, onwards to bigger and better things.
If I had to guess the shop is going shady and Ray isn't having it. Congrats on getting out on your terms. Thank you for the entertainment and good luck going forward sir.
no more like they complained about all his work taking x2/x3 the time it should (because he documents everything); or because they wanted a cut of something. but he also mentioned a few other people leaving and lots of turnover. so it's a management/owner problem 100%. sorry but if your job has lots of turnover its not a good job. people dont leave good jobs simple as that.
Filming protects the shop and Ray against bogus claims about the scope of the job per the customer's original complaints and the instructions passed along to Ray, and about the quality of the work. If non-mechanics up front are taking the customer's information, and have no idea what's really needed, it's pretty hard for a shop to put good work out the door at the estimated price or maintain a good reputation.
You only get one side of the story. Ray also doesn't take a long time on jobs, he is actually surprisingly fast. He also does good work most of the time. Ray has his online persona and his real life persona is different. He can treat co workers really badly. It's not just a case of getting mad and arguing but he can say unnecessarily mean things to others. He says the type of things that just can't be said to other people at the workplace. We all have bad days but he can, unfortunately, have I can do and say as I please type of attitude. Another thing, he is the type of guy who picks and chooses who he can and cannot get away with treating them awful. He just knows who he can bully and he doesn't let up
@@jeremycurtisisgay you worked with him then? We need further information and some concrete examples please.
Fired! Bummer! BUT one month later, look at how great you're doing with your own shop! Merry Christmas Ray and family!
Your a great worker Ray. Anyone you work for is lucky to have you. One door closes and another one opens!
One door closes another opens up. Good luck with your next journey. We will all be here for you
At a time when mechanics, true mechanics are hard to come by.
you deserve better Ray. you got this.
What? You have something against the Parts Cannon?
As long as it doesn't involve my wallet, I don't care. Lol 😆
I was watching a study on mechanics just the other day. They were talking about how shops are having a hard time finding mechanics because most of my generation has stayed away from this line of work because of how the payment structure is.
@@ChandlersFree Yea, the payment structure of Flat Rate sucks and it tends to reward those who are quick not thorough. Then the techs get blamed for jobs that seem half assed just because they are trying to make as much money as possible. Not to mention the disgusting amount of work that has to be put into doing even the smallest of jobs now on newer cars. It's just a train wreck of stuff. Once I got out of trade school I decided I don't even want to touch newer cars lol. If anything I'd become a transmission tech, the technology on those hasn't really changed they just keep adding sensors.
Sorry Ray! Glad you have something in the works though. I'm sure you will land on your feet and I'll be waiting to see just what it is. Always enjoyed your videos and look forward to see LOTS more of them!!!
Your honesty and integrity have always held you much higher than managements goals of more sales in less time. You will come out on top. BTW , I'm not sure why you think people would have a hard time finding the shop. Their Facebook page even has your picture up there :)
Hmm... they had better remove his picture... or pay for the use of his "likeness".
the manager lost it - to let a mechanic like you escape. Actually I was waiting for you to have a final showdown with the doo de doo. Best wishes Mr. Ray from Australia 🇦🇺 ; this will lead to better things.
Like with the copier/printer in the movie "office space" lol.
Manager is sure going to regret this. Who now will fix the problem jobs and promote the garage so we’ll. Ray made sure he retained customers with his honest approach to his job. Not ripping customers off.
@@harold6863 They probably won't care, sadly. They'll just find someone who does what they want to replace him, which is massively annoying. That's a whole hell of a lot of skill and knowledge they just let walk out the door in comparison to whoever walks in. I'm happy for Ray if all of his plans work out and everything goes the way he wants, but at the same time, it's really a bummer to get let go over differences like that. Then again, it seems like every place doesn't care anymore and it's just "do the work and upsell as much as possible", as the only shop manager I've had told me.
I never did that, I kept honest like Ray, and left when there was a difference in opinion from me and the shop manager over a safety concern with a car. I'm far less talented and knowledgeable than Ray, though.
That was the final showdown with the doo Dee doo
The shop can make more money with a hack mechanic shotgunning unnecessary parts like every other shop does. Ray can make more money running his own shop like Eric O and Makuloko
With so much stuff you have in tools, I think you should open your own repair shop. But first, after you get your stuff home, park it and go spend time with the wife and kids. Take a vacation man. You deserve it.
Keep all of us update.
The BEST advice here. What is life but giving you and your family a happy and contentful life?
Agreed! Take 2 weeks to relax and not have to deal with work... then start going on for your next chapter.
When my mechanic son moved shops ,it took a couple pickups, a lowboy, and a forklift to get the tools loaded. And SnapOn is the new ‘company store’.
Buddy, you have a great work ethics. You are very capable to have your own place. Most shops are very busy which mean there is a demand. You are the supply. Go for it.
Time to start your own shop Ray! We are behind you all the way! So sorry to hear! We'd really be interested to hear more details as to how things went
Does that include a cash donation😂
After working for sears and other places long ago,my Friend Norm started his own shop out of his small 2 bay garage at home 30 years ago, and today he is now retired a multi-millionaire. His did superb work and treated his customers right. He did not ever advertise other than word of mouth. He was always busy and this is a small town.. Moral of the story Ray, Do your own thing and be happy, you will make it no matter where you are.
agree this would be a good plan. Surround yourself with the other good, hardworking and honest mechanics, treat them well and you will do great.
Ray has a good head on his shoulders and handles this much like myself would have. The best way to make a statement to a business that yourself and staff can no longer disagree at, is to politely handle everything. Take your stuff, tell them to have a good day and wish them the best moving forward. It provided some life and lesson for you during the time you were there. The next step is to get your own business up and running, hire people that have the drive you want your business to represent, and compete the best way you know how. Eventually, that can lead to much bigger and more fulfilling things.
Ray, I've been bending wrenches for over 30 years and I can say that is definitely the shop's loss! With your skill and work ethic, you'll have no problem in starting the next chapter of your journey. You have nearly a half million people supporting you! Here's hoping whatever you have cooking works out as planned.
It has taken me many years to discover that everything that I think does NOT need to come out of my mouth, mostly because it will not change the situation or anyone's opinion and rarely, if ever, makes me feel better.
Words of wisdom
Ray, this hits close to home. 2.5 years ago, I was terminated from a job that I really enjoyed - only problem was the management. They tried to turn the heat up on me and make me quit to avoid paying unemployment. I just dug in my heels, did my job the best I could and waited until they gave up and just fired me. Like you said, you can see the winds of change and you know the end game is coming. Well, after that, I started working for my family business and it's been a big change for the better. Better hours, control over your destiny, good pay and benefits, and the chance to do what I love on my own time. It's never fun to be fired, even if you expect it, but you just take it in stride and look towards making the future one that works best for you. You'll do great, all the pieces are in place.
Good job not folding to the dirtbags who didn’t value you. Been there too.
That's the worst. I had the same happen to me. They wanted me to quit. Luckily I finally realized my value and found a new place that offered me almost double my salary. I hate change but if I knew I could have gotten that much more, I'd left much earlier.
@@pali1H it’s funny how they string you along check to check not giving the slightest clue how valuable your are...till your gone and their left lacking!
I'm sorry that happened man. You are a great technician. I spent 20 years wrenching for folks who think you can just find new "good help". The best decisions I made were to get away from those toxic environments. I know you'll be able to walk into any shop and be offered a position. Good, Honest, skilled workers are hard to find. They lost a good one. On a side note, I too rock a thermometer in my AC vents year round.
I just shed a tear. Not for you Ray. I don’t have any doubts that you will find the perfect spot for yourself. But instead for the poor souls that let you walk out the door. I will be waiting to see the next chapter of your life to begin. I haven’t seen such integrity in a while.
what is worse is, looking at the last videos, it does seem that there is only 2 or 3 active stalls, and the rest are more like car storage, showing that besides ray, there is at most 2 other mechanics, and that probably from interactions on videos are way less experienced than ray, so, now, there is either one or 2 ok employees, that will be unable to even do so things ray could, so even less services the job can offer, and i doubt they will find a really experienced guy with that many tools, at best the only ones that would apply are new and toolless apprentices, this place is probably done for, more or less
Couldn't agree more, I feel sorry for the other guys working in the shop because if this how they treat people with talent like Ray I don't think they are going to be in business for long.
I believe the reason they did this is because he always does the right thing, no matter the cost in time or money.
@@Qwertyuiop-wg5xu with Ray's comment that faces have been disappearing and we've not heard him call Peter for help for a couple of months. I'd guess the shop is down to staff they want to keep and is looking for new blood. Maybe they want a few more Yes Men.
Don't shear a tear for idiots.
Ray, I believe in you and know in my heart that you will rebound. ❤

Where I work the bosses basically know they’re all rworded so they get concerned if people aren’t objecting. Was interviewing someone the other day with my boss and the #1 thing he was looking for was someone who would speak up with objections to stupid requests.

Have a couple of weeks off Ray before doing anything. I'm amazed at how much of your own gear you had in that garage. Here in Australia all a mechanic is expected to supply is hand tools, the shop supplies everything else. You could start your own business from home but looks like your house and shed are too far away from town. Looking forward to seeing what your next venture will be. You're a bloody good mechanic.
At 55 years old being in the mobile heavy construction repair/welding industry I never forget 2 quotes of wisdom from old timers. 1) Good employees don't leave good jobs, good employees leave bad management. And 2) Time and tide wait for no man! Life moves on and as another comment mentioned, it's always better! Great videos and good luck in your next journey and Gid speed. Your own shop!? HMMMMM!? We will all be watching!
You've got that right! When I was a tech, I left the shop where I worked just in the nick of time... the place was belly up within a year. Piss poor management; 3 brothers, at least one was putting his hand in the till and drinking his lunch off site most days.
I left the next shop to start an entirely new career... then they also shut down within a short period of time afterward. You'd think they could carry on without me, but it didn't seem like it. LOL
In both cases, they were businesses that were handed down to the owners I worked for by the prior generation. It would've been great if the original owners had instilled a sense of integrity and good business acumen into their offspring.
Work at Timken steel and your words are so relevant.
Ya know Ray, those of us that think for ourselves have a hard time suffering ignorance from others. My son is a young mechanic and my best advice to him just starting out was buy all your equipment with wheels on it. When we fit in, the world is a happy place. When we don't fit (whatever the reason) it's time to move on. Life is too short to put up with adverse opinions when you don't have to. And having wheels on everything makes it much easier !!! Most of us in your audience have been there done that several times, you will be fine !
Totally agree
I like the buy your stuff with wheels part. That is good advice in many ways.
Very appropriate for this line of work I suppose. If you do anything in the grass, dirt, mud etc. Wheels are pretty damned useless. (small castor wheels, but not a trailer, that could be useful)
They don't call them "Rollaways" for nothing.
Looking forward to seeing what the future hold for you. Good Luck! Hold you keep making videos.
Good luck in your new adventures Ray, a mechanic with your talent and experience won’t be out of work very long.
That's why tool boxes have wheels on them. This is why you're a journeyman professional mechanic. You can pickup and move to greener pastures and quite possibly better opportunities. As a journeyman machinist I've been where you are, today, and I survived just fine. I was a victim of workplace jealousy, and my strong union sentiments. I worked from home for a few years as a mechanic, then went in a different direction and my new job paid 90% of my college classes and I got a degree in engineering. For the next 25yrs I worked as a civil engineer and retired with full benefits a few yrs ago. No regrets at all.

Thank You Sir, and I wish you the very best with your choices!
Ty for your first comment!
Workers in NZ or Australia have a far better life than in USA. Healthcare, paid holidays, retirement Uni.
We wright up the car to the service manager and they tell something different to the customer and then get big payment, then we do a small repair, car works - on cars with big problems we 'no bid' - on walk aways the 'problem diagnosis' is worthless.
That’s there loss. You’ll be fine in your new place. Also, put some oil on your door spring for the trailer.
Hey man look at this in a bright light. Find a better shop with better people who respect how hard you work. No one can really knows how you are off camera but by the looks of it you seem to be a genuine guy who wants to help people. Good luck Ray we will stick with you no matter where you end up going.
About two months ago you alluded in one of your videos that you were going to open your own shop. I hope that is the case.
I like that you went back and said, "Maybe it's me." Whether it is or isn't, it's amazing how many people can't say something like that. Also, the fact that you have skills means you'll land on your feet.
Work, like love, is a relationship and when they fail, it's natural to wonder if it's because of something you did. As you get older, your skills improve, and when you change employers or become self-employed that doubt diminishes.
It gets worse when the places you've worked at close permanently. I retired last year, and three months later came the news that the place would be closed and torn down. I took great pride in my work and wondered if it was something I'd done or not done. In the end, it was absolutely nothing that I had any control of.
Here is the list:
Union Switch and Signal, Swissvale, PA. Closed when operations were moved to another plant.
Westinghouse East Pittsburgh. Closed when operations were moved to other plants.
U.S. Steel's Homestead Works. Closed due to economic change in the steel industry.
WISCO. Bought by Siemens. Closed five years later as operations were sold off or moved to other plants.
Elrama Power Station. Closed after 60 years of service due to economic unviability.
Cheswick Power Station. Closed after 52 years of service due to economic unviability.
There was nothing that I did or didn't do that influenced any of those closures. Sure, it took time and analysis to get rid of the "maybe it's me" gremlins, and our friend Ray will move on too.
Being a small business owner for the past 7 years. I'll clue you, it's normal to stick to your guns when it comes to supporting your ideas. Being on your own is way better. I own my own HVAC company. I work more but don't put up with crap. Every year I have to fire a customer for thier attitude and in some cases entitled I'm special personality. I deal with more great folks then bad. Just a word to let you know I certainly appreciate you sharing your knowledge about vehicles. Thank you & God bless you and your family.

You're the dad and we're the kid. Your channel has taught us how to do repairs ourselves. Most importantly, you've shown us the difference between repairs anyone could do and things you'd be better of taking to a mechanic. It's a lesson very few actually teach
