How did the franchise start and how did they become one of the most recognized franchises ever. LA Lakers is a brand,remember going to LA in 2011 for NBA All Star Weekend from NYC,Lakers fan I was at Staples Center visiting the Lakers store it was crazy awesome.Remember went to Atlanta saw late Kobe and Shaq play in early 2000s it was awesome.Of course the Showtime era in 1989 I saw Lakers vs Knicks,Kareems last game at MSG.Lakers won 113-99

They started in Detroit Michigan 😎 so therefore they are deeply rooted in Detroit. The Detroit gems played in ferndale high school and holy redeemer highschool. Both high schools have the colors purple and gold. I see they kept the original colors from Detroit high schools back when they played in the NBL
