The only thing this guy says about the Haymarket "Riot" is that a worker threw dynamite at a cop? "Sketchy origins in socialism?" No mention of company stores or the miners who were gunned down by the National Guard in West Virginia. Wow, what a one-sided account! Let's celebrate industry, but not mention that before unions, all labor was basically slave labor.
As a native Pittsburgher - The booming steel mill industry has been replaced with a fantastic medical industry. The Pinkerton Strike of 1902/1907 HJ Heinz Company The Carrie Furnace is now a popular tourist attraction At the site of our steel mills now sits the outside shopping area called The Waterfront. To keep and remember our history, the bridges are made of steel and a line of mill stacks remain. During WWII, "the burgh" produced enough steel to wrap around the world a few hundred times.
That was so excellent. Everyone needs to be refreshed about our roots! The awesome history of those who went before and still are creating our industrial history! Praise God for this show on Labor Day. Anerica needs to see this! I am thankful for TBN, Drive Thru and Dave and our amazing American hard workers of steel, coal, farming etc!

I thought that same thing. Also, "the Amish are a good example of Labor Day in the US"? What kind of revisionist history BS is this?
Totally thinking the same thing!! Leaving out a lot about why workers were striking.
