You guys asked for it so here it is! I towed my 1984 Nissan 720 with the dual spark plug 2.4l and 5 speed down to Oklahoma to battle it out against Puddin's Fab shop in his 1980 720 equipped with a 2.0L inline 4 cylinder. Both trucks were pretty rough to start so we had to doctor them up a bit before we took them to Jimmy's Ranch to duke it out! What a blast! As always, thanks much for watching!

@@MortskeRepair a btw.. years ago a buddy had a brilliant idea for building/creating a T bucket body by throwing Chinese meranti luan (has 3 plys with veneers = 5 laminates total, laid up in a pink waterproof glue, I've built small boats with the stuff!) into the swimming pool a couple days then just mold+cut it into shape and dry it out. fiberglass added later as it goes along. tapered hood with hinged side panels, firewall, floor, the whole cab/bucket too. something learned online.. slice lumber into very thin strips (lots of waste oh well!), glue them together 3-4 thick at a time with clamps, glue acting as "grease" to make solid tight curves. this idea is basically a "make your frames then skin them" concept, the mentioned luan stuff can be pushed to twist compound curves to build a canoe with when its soaked. long reply explaining it some.. put that NAP-Z engine right, you have everything for a little T bucket truck build that'd weigh near nothing.

@@MortskeRepair not as bad as you might think, the process works and its all just type 2 wood glue for the majority of it. only real nasty is wet sanding between applying a couple layers of fiberglass cloth.. and the fumes you run away from ASAP after laying down more.
bonus, it it comes out "too cool" you can make a mold from it.
it was a couple years after hearing his idea that I'd built a few small wooden boats. having played some, know it'd be lots easier than most might think to make it just happen.

It's cool to see good ole boys from different neck of the woods coming together and having fun. Next year you should invite Derick from VGG and have a three way race of Datsun's maybe even hold it at Dericks place he has a large pit to race in. AND at the end of the race see who can get the most air at the end of the race by build a ramp of dirt. Maybe talk it over and ask us viewers to vote on it then the three of you guys will know for sure if it's a good idea. have fun guys.

All your antics remind me of the great times my brother and I had doing similar things with a 72 Toyota Corolla out in the cow pastures. I was maybe 13 or 14 and that's where I really learned to drive a four speed. I remember my mom telling us, "You better have your seat belts on and better be wearing helmets when tearing around in that thing!" That was after she observed us going around turns on two wheels. Unfortunately, our fun ended when we were pulling it out of a mud hole with the tractor and ended up pulling the wiring harness out of the engine compartment when the front end let loose. You two definitely need to collaborate more.

yup, old drummer had a crayola we beat the snot out of in the apple orchards, it was toast anyway, smoked like a pig, got it for 100 bucks.

When I was in my 20s a friend and I did this in old 4wd ford rangers. both had 302 V8s in them and there was a jump in the middle of the track with a hill climb at the end. My last run in my ranger I clipped a tree with my front passenger tire and destroyed my truck. Awe man those were the days!

That yellow SOB is the truck I learned to drive on at 11 years old in 1991. So neat to see one again lol.
I think ol Mortske has the advantage that truck just runs so good and it has a Z on the valve cover so that makes it a racing engine butreally I think it all comes down to who's clutch has more meat on it the one with the gooder clutch has got the win in my opinion.
