    Regarding the question of alterations and buying used/vintage, I’d really love to see a video that explains how to a) practically judge your sizing needs - what do you need to measure etc before buying blind, and b) what can be altered and what cannot - when buying something that doesn’t immediately fit, what aspect of the item should you prioritise and what can you compromise on and get fixed later.
    You address some of this in the video (thank you!) but an even deeper dive could be something for a future video.

    Incredible content! You’re slowly becoming one of my go-to creators! Please please please walk us through thrifting, vintage, and second-hand both in person and online as there is so much there it deserves a series.
    I’d even challenge you to put together an entirely second-hand, four-season capsule wardrobe (shoes and all) for no more than $50 a piece plus alterations and repairs and feature your tailor and cobbler. You’d be the first to do something like that and it would add immense value.
    Also, praying for your continued success and that you and your wife fall in love with Miami! Being Cuban, I’ve spent a lot of time there and there’s incredible food and a melting pot of cultures!

    Great tips, and best of luck on your move! You will find that style is very different in Miami than in Germany because of the weather. I live a couple of hundred miles northwest of Miami, and I wear a jacket or overcoat only a handful of days every winter. Summer here is brutal, and comfort is key while still remaining stylish. Linen, seersucker, lightweight cotton and tropical-weight wool are your friends during the long, hot Florida summers, unless you spend little time outdoors and more time in air-conditioned indoor spaces. It will be a drastic change. I have lived in both places, so I know from experience. Welcome to Florida!

    A few of the brands I like:
    John Smedley, Anderson & Sheppard, Johnson’s of Elgin, Joshua Ellis all good for jumpers.
    Kiton, Turnbull and Asser, Emma Willis and Bud are top shirt makers. Ede & Ravenscroft also good and cheaper.
    New & Lingwood trousers are decent.
    Grenfell and Barbour very good for jackets and coats.
    Crockett & Jones and Trickers good for shoes.
    Tusting good for men’s bags.

    I just wanna share my opinion here: I think to truly understand what items you need or items you will wear the most, you will need to take into consideration where you live and how much you travel. For me, I live on a tropical island that’s hot and humid half the year and also rains a lot. So I don’t really need many outerwear. And I’m a sales so I constantly need to be on the move, so I invest in good quality shoes. And most of my wardrobe basics I get from Uniqlo (affordable and good quality) so I know when I sweat through them or get them dirty I’m not too worried about replacing them

    • @TheStyleConsultant
      @TheStyleConsultant  6 месяцев назад +2

      Absolutely, you‘re very right about that! I will take this into consideration once I get to know the climate of Miami more. It’s like a COMPLETE turnaround to Germany right now 😄

    • @leroyjenkins9000
      @leroyjenkins9000 6 месяцев назад

      @@TheStyleConsultant yeah definitely! I also learned recently that “four seasons wool” only apply to places in Europe which has a cooler climate. In places where it’s hot most of the time you’re better off considering linen or seersucker. Another idea for your next video could be that most men like to purchase from stores and just get off the rack items, but I recently started to go to local tailor shops and I get tons of fabric (loro piana and zegna) and style options with their made to measure programs. Saves me a lot of money vs Just going to their stores, which usually cost thousands not only that it might not fit me properly.
