I put this in the chat but i comment here as well. I saw my dermatologist today and she said the exact thing you've been saying. She said shampoo is the only thing that belongs on the scalp & that kenkoderm is an excellent choice for scalp infections. I have seborrheic dermatitis 😩 all those years of greasing my scalp wasn't a good idea. She prescribed some ketoconazole. I'mma buy me some kenkoderm this week. Thanks for all of your knowledge. I think you could be a dermatologist for real. ❤
Very informative. My mom did my hair growing up and she always used blue magic or an oil on my scalp. And different shampoos over the years. as a kid i would always scratch the crap out of my hair after it was done. Thus leading to my fingers covering my papers and erasers in grease. So i had dandruff most of my life. Then she started using head and shoulders, dandruff gone but the grease was still used. As an adult that moved out and is learning how to to/ take care of my hair i decided to go to a dermatologist about my scalp itching. Turns out i had dermatitis. Great. I havent had dandruff for years now and to me i believe its because i stopped putting product directly on my scalp. I use the steroid and shampoo i was prescribed but sparingly. My hair and scalp still have their times but im just glad to not have to deal with a constant urge to scratch. Im still learning but im glad to know that it could be managed.
Gurl….. the aloe Vera and the protein treatments I thought that I was doing my hair justice by using those products in my hair but I no longer use them!! Thanks you❤
Yep, that's when it started to the extreme. Phoney pony's were the only wigs I seen people wearing regularly. That wasn't to bad because they took the ponytails off before the went to bed. Sewed in weaves were only worn every blue 🔵 moon. Then years later females were wearing glued in weaves everyday! They were putting more care in their weaves than their natural hair. It messed the hair game up! I was told to use a protein treatment only when my hair was shedding. It stopped the shedding when I used it only during that time. I didn't know oils and grease would get on our scalps when we lay down cause I thought it would fall like gravity that's something I didn't know as well thanks for your information.
Thanks so much for watching and engaging! Yes! The phony pony’s got us!! Nothing goes on the scalp I’ll have a new video coming on the topic very soon.❤️❤️❤️
Girl you are so articulate, you speak with such conviction and passion...how we take care of our hair is extremely vital but I feel the" diet "is key on how it impacts not only the hair but the body as well...I say this cause there's so many YT vids talking about "oxalates" and the frightening "oxalate list" we shouldn't be eating that it's hard to know who to trust, lol...I'd trust you if you ever were to branch out cause I know you'd tell the truth...anyhoo please keep up the good work I've learned so much from you!!!...
That’s nothing! I used to brush and style my hair with conditioner and that damaged my hair soooo badly! I paid the price, but now I’m back on track with my blow dried hair and keeping my scalp clean.
WOW GURRLL!!! You have opened my eyes and expanded my knowledge about my hair, so thank you... I appreciate you 🎉🎉 Funny how you mentioned 'some lady' shoving Aloe Vera oil all over the Internet a few yrs back.... I looked at 'some lady's ' status updates and she is going through some heavy issues with her hair and says she doesn't know what is going on with her hair😢😅
@iamcyndoll Girl when I tell you my stylist JUST put Apple Cider Vinegar on my hair as a detox to cleanse my scalp following a DC and steam. And she does this every 2 months that I go get a silk press 😭😭😭😕. Is there a way to correct the effects of the use? This info is amazing but learning it just triggered me because now I’m starting to see that my stylist may be incorporating things that aid in the slowing of my progress to healthy long hair. Amazing content- you’re amazing love 💕
No just stop using it. Some stylist get their information for RUclips. Be careful selecting a stylist. A professional that focuses on the science of hair doesn’t do RUclips hacks. She probably doesn’t know it’s a acid. ❤️
Interesting. I've been watching YT natural hair videos for about a year and have been natural about 25 years, but I don't think I've ever done even one of these things! I considered the rice water but never did it. Did once do a bentonite clay mask that had some ACV with water to mix, which had a good effect on my hair but not my drains, so never repeated. But straight ACV or food, never. I guess I'm doing all right, despite being at pretty much the same length for the past year after cutting off most of my dreadlocks and combing out the rest. Still trying to find my Summer/Winter standard styles now that it's no longer dreadlocks.
I was thinking using an instant conditioner and then a deep conditioner would solve my hair problem just recently! I hadn't done it but planned to until NOW!
Hey Cyndoll, I use Moringa Oil to keep my ends smooth. It helps a lot by preventing my ends from drying and breaking off. I would like to know if Moringa Oil can cause hair weathering or it is safe for hair use?
Too much oil on the ends will cause damage over time no matter what oil you use. Your ends can still break with oil on them moringa doesn’t create a barrier. Your routines protect your hair not oils.
Is ylang-ylang oil safe to use as a pre-shampoo scalp treatment? You said rosemary oil removes both good and bad bacteria, so I'm curious to know if ylang-ylang does the same thing. I want to use it because it allegedly increases scalp sebum production.
That’s not the proper way to use it. Yes all essential oils and herbs kill good and bad bacteria. Spend time learning about herbs and how to properly prepare them. You change sebum production from the inside not by putting oil on the scalp.
Hey Cyn, I think this has been my favorite videos! Yes keep the hair hacks coming. I would like to request you to tell us the good hacks also like onion juice being alright, I think 🤔 as well as the nutty ones.😂I really don't think some people don't understand the air drying concept. Not cause they're rebelling but cause they just don't get it. Yes I enjoyed this video you broke it down easy as 🥧 pie. Thanks a lot. God bless you.
Hey CynCyn, I use thick oil on the ends of my hair. I put leave in or oil on my ends. I tried nothing on my ends & they dried up to a crisp & broke off. 📴 🥺😂My hair needed a little push with the sebum & brush 😂What's the deal with hair wax, is it kool to use? I remember some years ago I rubbed a piece of aloe vera on my hair & it got on my skin & had my neck burning & itching!🥵😩We look forward to your videos you can put any subject out it would be greatly appreciated. I have some I can binge watch as well I'm just saying. Thank you girly.👍🏾 God bless you.
@@IamCynDoll i hear you Cyn lol i never tried it but people claim its on ancient remedy that works. I never add food to my hair and not even homemade products. Only formulated in a lab properly. Thanks ❤
I have a client that is going to do chebe (not sure if I spelled that correct) on her hair at home, instead of just coming to the salon. But I'm like whatever. Some clients think they know more than the professional and my life is peaceful so I'm not arguing 😂
Chebe should only be use in small amounts and it needs to stay away from the scalp 100%. She will learn the hard way . Sending you strength working in the hair industry love.
I've been natural since 2004 and never wore a wig or weeve nor used rice water! My hair is below bra strap length/about elbow length). My length as a child was about the same or slightly longer. The secret to my success was the pandemic disallowing frequent trims and deep conditioners (moisturizing weekly x 3 then protein x 1. I shampoo with Head & Shoulders Nourish and Smooth weekly. I used Aloe gel for the first time this weekend. 😮

The bagging method made my scalp itch so bad and it smelled the next morning. I only tried it for 2-3 weeks and had to stop.
Thank God you stopped.
I used to do a rosemary water spray, dried my hair out, didn't see the hype.
I was thinking using an instant conditioner and then a deep conditioner would solve my hair problem just recently! I hadn't done it but planned to until NOW!
Protein treatments are only good if you don't use any hair products that contain protein or if the hair cuticles are damaged.

They aren’t as bad as RUclips makes it sound.
How would you recommend doing a hair treatment with honey if at all? Would love to hear your perspective. Thanks

The herbs are popping right now because people see the indian women's hair and are convinced that will work for them.
They have long hair because of their diet not because they put herbs in their hair.
