I think I actually visited this mine about 1990 when North American Rail Car Operators was approached by a Gold Mine Tour Bus.Cost $15.00 Canadian. They put us in the cage and dropped us off at 3800 to 4200 feet down.Took about 5 minutes to descend 3800 to 4200 feet. They gave us an ID badge with a number of which I had to sign my name. The company had a duplicate. That badge was put on the "In Mine" board. If that number was missing, they'd assume the person was missing and search. We went through the maintenance underground shop. When we returned , that tag was put on the out of mine board. We also visited the mill complete with cyanide in the flotation tanks. After a while, the vats were drained and the gold bearing sludge was put through a press that had cheese cloth. Then the cloth removed and the gold dust scraped off. All employees were strip searched for any gold being smuggled out.The mine was not in operation when I visited. But the mill processed gold ore from several mines.
