For those who keep asking "where's Alvin," Alvin Zhou has passed the torch of Making It Big host to Tway. He is not leaving Tasty and will pop up in the future, just won't be hosting Making It Big. Although sad to see it go, I'm sure Tway will bring us new adventures in the series.
Ever since I got to Vietnam two weeks ago, eating a banh mi has become a part of my day. I especially love it with eggs for breakfast. The bread is always crispy and I love the different toppings you can have with it. I hope I can recreate it and share it with my friends and family when I get back to North America. 🥰
As a big (haha) making it big fan, I was a bit sad that Alvin was passing the mantle to someone else but I have to say, Tway did NOT disappoint! She is funny, cool, relatable, charming, has interesting stories and her way of doing this feels fresh yet familiar. Great job! Tasty desperately needed some new faces and Tway is definitely a good choice
Not gonna lie...I was a skeptic. I was annoyed to see Alvin leave...BUT... Her shirt with her mama drew me in, but her talent kept me here. You go girl! She was a great person to pass the torch to. ❤️ also...little Tway brings me back to Lizzie McGuire, lol. I love it.
She's incorrect about the pate comment, though. Not all banh mi has pate in it. A true Viet knows this as for example, the meatball banh mi doesn't have it. The fried fish ones don't have it. And the one my parents made with char siu-like pork belly didn't have it (but that could just be my family...LOL).
I have never had Banh Mi, but seeing this big, I definitely want to try it! I will definitely watch Tway. Alvin made a great choice and I wish him the best.
