Our format is different we have to write receipt in dr side and payment in credit side and we dont have voucher no.

Sir i am engineering student my question is why the CASH RECEIVED was written on debit side and CASH GIVEN written on credit side. What is the broad thinking 🤔 behind this I want to know? Please explain if possible..
Cash is an asset and it's a rule "Assets are debited on increase and credited on decrease" So when cash was received, there was an increase that's why it was debited and so was the case in crediting
