I commend you on protecting the insects! Every fall I cover my garden with all of the falling leaves….my neighbor “strongly suggested“ I not do so and rake them all up so they didn’t fly all over …. I responded that I didn’t want to …she asked why and I told her they protected the plants and bugs and worms and bees during the winter…she looked at me like I had four heads and walked away 😂😂😂😂

Mosquitoes are at the bottom of the food chain. I think that citronella candles or torches are great for a small area to be mosquito free. Also I have used essential oils of lavender, lemon etc. .to help me personally not be bothered by them as well. I enjoy watching and listening to your adventures, advice, and your shorts are brilliant so glad you have added them into your routine of videos. I will be sure to watch the edited reruns.

If your not going to have a kitchen for a while. Make your meals ahead of time, put them in microwave safe food keepers, and freeze them. Then when you want a meal just use a microwave and reheat and eat. Not as good as fresh food, but better than not so good Chinese. Also with weather being nice you can cook outside. Love the Cardigan. Those are one of my favorite things to knit. There are some wonderful plants you can put in your garden that actually repell mosquitoes. Lavender, Rosemary, Marigolds, Basil, Lemongrass, Catnip just to name a few. I am in Missouri and these plants are life savers. As always wonderful video and I love your peacock scarf pattern, I bought it last week. Wonderful video. Thanks for the time you take to share with us.

Wherein you take 60 seconds to show how to avoid some common sock mistakes, or solve sock-related problems.
Specifically, you once mentioned how to get rid of the hole between the heel and the top of the foot when returning to knitting in the round. I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs a repeat/a visual of what you meant.

Actually all kinds of insects are important, not only bees. Buggs pollinate too. Even mosquitos have a purpose. Birds eat them for example and bats and birds are important for carying seeds to all kinds of destinations through their droppings, therefore contributing to the spreading of plants. So keep on building those insect hotels folks 🙂

Watched this episode and enjoyed it so much. Just got home from a mini vacation at a Montana mountain cabin 10 minutes from where I live here. The mosquitoes ate me alive! I share your hatred of them, Carlos. They've been horrible this year. I am glad that you mentioned Carson Delete' book. I had also purchased a copy. April 30 I tripped over my open dishwasher door and face planted; the fall broke several teeth and fractured my right shoulder quite badly. The pain was excruciating and remained very painful until the bones began to knit back together. I thought I might never be able to knit again. I am happy to report that I am knitting again and, once I fully recover I anticipate being back where I was in terms of proficiency. I showed the book to the occupational therapist helping me to recover and she was really impressed. Arne, your command of the English language is quite impressive too. I understand how it would be confusing how the same word (& spelling) can have multiple meanings...i.e., knitting bones, and knitting yarn. Fun to make puns.

WAVE from cold Western Australia. I have to thank you so much. I do so often thank the universe that I discovered you. I am using your knitting technique on circulars, colour work, big stars. SO helpful to have the second colour working with my other hand. I never knew that about things like continental knitting. And I have learned some refinement of technique from you both. So Im knitting a scarf for my son, in the round (no purl). It is in wool, Bendigo Wool Victoria Australia and a skein of Brooklyn Tweed USA. Looking good guys. Best wishes. Maretta p.s. I read somewhere today that slaters, the roll up tiny creatures that live often under stones, that they somehow help with cleansing the earth of some heavy metals.

In Switzerland, back in the 1960s, we girls were thought handicraft from the 3rd to the 12th grade. That included knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, many other different embroidery techniques as well as sewing. This knitted hanger - cover was one of my very first knitting and crocheting projects we had to do. Brought back fun memories Thanks for sharing!

My ears went up when you mentioned Karl Johans Gt, I remember it from visiting Oslo in February, near The Hub! Good times!

I have just inherited my Dad’s inkle loom that I am restoring and then going to relearn how to use. Weaving is such a fascinating craft.
