Andrew, I enjoyed (both) HP ENVY 13" reviews (and love your reviews). I am about to purchase the newest HP ENVY 17" but there are no reviews of that machine! The 17" model comes only with an HD screen, but it has has a *4* Gig Nvidia MX250, a full sized SD card slot, and amazing battery life. The thing I love most about both of these computers is the 64Watt power supply. My 7 year old HP workstation suffers a 474 Watt power supply... needs external striped drives, external speakers, external monitor, and an 800 Watt APC power supply!!! The HP ENVY will do almost everything the old workstation did... and save me at least $75/month in electricity! Why don't reviewers focus on efficient power utilization and the benefits (urgency) to consume less? The 17" LG GRAM and the 17" HP ENVY are the largest machines I can find with low wattage requirements.
Just purchased this in the uk with the fhd screen for £1150 from john lewis...a steal upgrading from a 7 year old samsung rf511, served me well but time to move on...pick up tomorrow cant wait.
Thank you Mr. David for a good straight forward review. In your opinion, which is the better Laptop the Envy which u just reviewed or the Spectre x360? Both Laptops r made by HP.
I’m a student who needs something inexpensive but powerful for video editing and animation. Finally convinced my dad to get this for me (he wanted to get me a Macbook, but didn’t realize how expensive they were. Going to college in 2 years so he would have to get me one anyways), and I’ll have it on my birthday in 2 weeks 😄. I honestly think this is a good replacement for my original choice, the Matebook X Pro

@@fatherzerk5841 It is my wife's actually. She says it seems fine for day to day use, good screen and speakers, okay battery life, mediocre touchpad. Still has the old kind of clunky charging bricks. Good for its price. The mx250 is a hardly an upgrade from the mx150. Oh, I suggest you wait for the new Intel Gen 10 versions coming out if you can.
I want to buy the HP envy 13" 16gb RAM 2019, for 1080p video editing, however, here in Serbia, we only have Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics. Worldwide, it's sold with Intel UHD 620 or NVIDIA MX250 GDDR5, but here, it only comes with Radeon. Is it worth buying it either way?
It has 4k resokution and doesn't cover all the color gamut? Less then 5 hours of batterylife is bad for a laptop in these days. Sometimes the little things ruin your experience, and I think that this laptop will disappoint alot of consumers.

Hp Envy 13 or Asus Zenbook 13 or Lenovo C930? Which one you would recommend?
I was on the edge with the Envy 13 and Asus Zenbooks for a while. I ended up getting the Envy 13 and I'm glad I did. I really liked the zenbook but it cost $200 more and had worse specs in terms of performance. Actually having the HP in front of me it's an awesome little laptop.
@@callenmcquillan7680 Do you still love the laptop after a month? How is the heat and fans?
wow i so much love this Hp
Just bought the i5 version, can I confirm if you can charge it using the USB-C charger instead of the one that came in the box? Thanks.
How is the laptop? Thinking of buying this today.
@@gfm747 Thanks for the response bud.
Wow greatest review ever
Yes, the camera is very good
The MX250 chip is a 10W one or 25W one???
10
I want to buy the HP envy 13" 16gb RAM 2019, for 1080p video editing, however, here in Serbia, we only have Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics.
Worldwide, it's sold with Intel UHD 620 or NVIDIA MX250 GDDR5, but here, it only comes with Radeon.
Is it worth buying it either way?
If I was to get this laptop and change the screen display setting to full HD would the battery life improve by a fair amount eg. 4-5 hours?
The FHD model will do better in battery life for sure. But of course it will depend on you use the laptop.
@@andrewmarcdavid but is there the chance to reduce the resolution to FHD as any other windows display in settings?
What are the contents of the box
on the webside it says it has 700 nits screen
Anyone know if the i5 FHD version comes in metal chassis too?
Is the brightness for the FHD model above 300 nits as well?
Yes 360 nits
But hp says its 400 lol
Anyone know how durable the USB flaps in this laptop?
Andrew watch brand and price plz
amzn.to/2O86D5x Raymond Weil Freelancer. You can pick one up for about $1300.00
Soooopwr expensive
Its gaming laptop?
i love hp laptop😍😍😍😍😍
It has 4k resokution and doesn't cover all the color gamut? Less then 5 hours of batterylife is bad for a laptop in these days. Sometimes the little things ruin your experience, and I think that this laptop will disappoint alot of consumers.
Can you upgrade the ssd?
