Took a nice canyon drive in mine last week and I was reminded how good the bones are in this car. Canyon carving is a blast and makes me forget all the other flaws that seem amplified during city driving.
Better to get a used one with some low mileage. The I personally think the value is there, especially if you plan to mod the car a bit and have a very nice fast car.
Yep.I just got one as a rental car.I own a KIA stinger GT AWD.The Q60 red sport is more comfort oriented then sport--it is also slower then my stinger in all around driving. These are now over 60k new and like you said lightly used is the best value.BTW it is a much much better car then a 50k plus 370 Nismo. I have also rented AUDIS and to be honest this car is a better version of an audi A5--which costs the same as this. The car is probably the best "GT cruiser" for cars under 50k. My stinger is a better sports car--sits lower--handling--steering--accelerating are sharper. I drive up to nashville sometimes and the mountain roads and there are some rough spots that can ding up your car and are not good for "sports cars"--the q60 is an excellent compromise and when they revamp it--I might put it on my list--but I feel the car will go north of 65k by then. The gas mileage was also about 25 MPG--the times I have gone on trips in my stinger my gas mileage has been almost 30--so for some reason it does drink more fuel then both my stinger and audis i have rented--granted I was going between 80 and 90 mph--but both an Audi a5 and my stinger going the same are almost at 30--5 mpg makes a diffrence on a trip.Car also felt solid
@@khronin With all the money saved. You can buy upgrades and improve the sport side of the ride. A nice set of coilovers, sway bars and sticky tires will immensely improve handling and cornering. My old G35 can do 1.04g around corners and all i have in suspension is coilovers and wheel spacers
The seats are very comfortable, Im a lot bigger than you and they don't feel tight at all, the rear seats look small, but my 5'3" daughter fits in there nicely and says its quite comfortable so it will take someone taller than 4'. I can fit 2 McD's large colas in the cup holders with problem. This is my 3rd Infiniti, love their cars.
Good review Sam...if they could modernize the entertainment and some other interior features, this would be an intriguing buy...I love the looks and sound of it...keep up the great work.
It's classy looking! It's a shame Infinti didn't take Nissan's approach to infotainment. I rented an Altima for 1 week and despite it being my 1st time with Car Play the infotainment was very intuitive. I kinda hated to give it back and drive Old Reliable, my 2010 Escape lol. Glad you enjoyed Pride and a nice trip.
As always, excellent review, but you should edit and change the title from 2021 to 2020. The 2021 Q60 RS400 has a black grille, darker chrome window trim, and there are no S3.0T badges on the side of the car. This is a 2020 model.
Almost $68K? OMG! The interior and tech are years behind the competition. Back in 2008 I bought a new G37 Sport nicely equipped under for $40k. Value to performance was unbeatable. Infiniti has lost their way since G35. Their value proposition isn't there anymore. I have since owned a few luxury vehicles and they are all Germans. Now I am in the Lexus fold.
1st time watching your videos. I only have 1 point of contention with you. Its a 16 speaker Bose system and listening to it on XM satellite mode will not work. You have to use Pandora, Apple or Amazon and it will sound amazing. I bought this car primarily for the stereo. I have listened to the Acura Mark Levinson and was not impressed. I am audiophile as we are called. I have a $2,000 headphone with a $1000 headphone amp and my home stereo is worth about $17,000. I have an acoustically treated room. So....I am well aware of awesome sound and the Infiniti has it. I do own a Q50S, and....I agree with 99% of your review. Its a blast to drive.
@@TestDrivenTV Duly noted. I got the 2019 and now the 2020 Q50S. One black and one silver. All I remembered was that I really loved the Infiniti I had to have 2.
Nice review. If the same as the 2017 model, the handling is badly compromised by the tires. Replace the run flats with non-run-flat Goodyear Eagles and...OMG! It is a different car. Direct, responsive, incredible traction. I can't overstate the difference. Oddly, with the Goodyear Eagles though, the ALC function is very slightly less capable but still a great tool for long-distance cruising. FWIW, I replaced the run-flats on my Q50 Hybrid with Pilot Sports...not as good as the Goodyears IMHO. I live in the UK, so not sure if there are spec differences.
I just bought a 2019 red sport from the dealer that has Bridgestone Driveguard run flats and what a difference from the 2017 Silver Sport that had the OEM runflats which made the car feel like it was floating!!
How do you feel about the M37X/S design?? I think those were the last good looking infiniti before they went to the newer models..but this is gorgeous!
Weird how the 2021 Q60 has the badging on the fender and they took it away for the 2021 Q50. Actually now that I've watched other videos, this is the only 2021 Q60 that I've seen that has the fender badging.
It doesn't. This is a 2020 model. The '21 Q60 RS400 has the black front grille, darker chrome on the window trim, and the S3.0T side badges are gone. 2020 is the last year of the chrome and side emblems on the Q50 & Q60 RS400 models.
lol driving a sport coupe and he’s talking about practicality. Lol, “the cup holders are to small” you not driving it right if you can have drinks in it that aren’t spilling.
I have a 2018 Q50 RS (same car essentially minus two doors) and I agree 100% on everything especially the sound system. Funny you compared it to Mark Levinson, as ML has been my reference since 2008 when I bought an '08 IS350 equipped with the ML system. It sounded absolutely incredible and was honestly my favorite part of the car (which was fortunate because the 3.5L V6 didn't sound all that great haha). I'm sure they are even better today. You could literally play any kind of music, even MP3, and it sounded amazing - crystal clear, never harsh, with musical details you wouldn't hear in anything else...it was almost like hearing for the first time. The much hyped 16 speaker Bose system Infiniti uses is just not that great, I can never find the right adjustment to satisfy my ears. I really wish they would switch to just about anything else. The car has many flaws, you pretty much hit all of them, but the sound system is the least forgivable one in my opinion. You can buy a phone holder, you can put better tires on it, but replacing the Bose's 16 speakers and however many amps is not very feasible without a lot of surgery.
