- Maxwell has a horrible hangover, Fran and Niles try to help him.
From Season 3 Episode 7, 'Oy vey, you're gay'. C.C. is annoyed when Maxwell hires a gorgeous publicist Sydney, to help him with his public image. Maxwell is taken with her and plans a romantic date for the two of them. It turns out that Sydney is gay. Fran rushes to meet Maxwell so he is not left alone on the date but the pair end up getting stuck in the elevator.

I appreciate that she could relate to his wanting to be an M, but didn't take the chance to be all hint-hint nudge-nudge wink-wink about it... drawing attention to her single availableness. She kept his loss vs lonely dilema, his pain, about him and gave him a very good point to ponder : he has to allow himself to move on without fear that it means the past was any less real or good. It's just now 'the past' and he has to be in the present.
