As a German I must say that as much as I'm proud of our music by Bach, Beethoven and Schubert, I absolutely adore the Russian classical music with its romantic composers like Rachmaninoff!
Throughout my life I loved and will always love russian artists, russians greatest classical composers like Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsssakov etc. I also adore the russian pianists, in particular Sviatoslav Richter and Vladimir Horowitz, Rubinstein , Gilels and Moiseevich.
I have great respect for the Russian people and even their government on the whole. What Washington and NATO had done to Ukraine since 2014 starting with the coup and leading to endless armament and terrorism in the Donbas, and blocking Minsk II, is incredibly bad. We continue to encourage violence by sending weapons there endlessly, repeating what we always do with proxy wars and having no concern for Ukrainians despite the rhetoric.

No wonder this period is called the GOLDEN AGE of Russia. Nicholas II Romanov, most likely, was a gentle man, rather than a cruel one. My great-grandmother used to say that before the revolution, only lazy idlers lived poorly.

These books were all written by lovers of the revolution and was not committed with the truth! @@aloysius3533 well Ukraine wants to stay independent as it’s own country, Russia wants them to be part of Russia, more land more power. It’s pretty easy.

Is it just me, or does Russia have the most beautiful arts, whether it be music, painting, architecture, etc.
I'm not certain about "most beautiful" but I can say the Russian cultural embrace of tragedy adds a depth we do not often find in Western market-driven mass culture

The first classical music I heard was Tchaikovsky's Concert No. l in B flat minor Opus 23. I was 7 years old and I've been hooked for 65 years.

Me encanta la música rusa y todos sus compositores sin discriminación ni intentar analizar quien es el mejor, para mí todos son sublimes, capaces de transportar al oyente a muchos paraísos que solamente se pueden visitar cerrando los ojos y dejándose llevar por sus bellos compases. He tenido la suerte y el privilegio de ver ballet en el Bolshoi Teatr de Mockva (Moscou), y en el Marinskii de Sant Peterburg...momentos que jamás olvidaré en mi vida.
Eu me iniciei Geometria Analítica com um pequeno livro de professor russo traduzido para o francês.
Aos poucos, percebi uma forte admiração dos franceses pela cultura russa.
Fiquei curioso.
Descobri Borodin, Tolstoiewsky, muito mais de Tchaikovsky, Rinsky Korsakov.

@yassi jass Well, I don't know what the Russians think about them. In my opinion they are not bloodthirsty and cruel as you say. Anyway, Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and Alexei did not deserve such a sad ending. Many years have passed and they deserve to rest in peace, we are human, we all make mistakes. RIP Romanov family.
@yassi jass You absolutely do not know the history of Russia. The 19th century is the greatest period of Russian history; the era of the heyday of science, music, painting, theater, and literature. No wonder this period is called the GOLDEN AGE of Russia. Nicholas II Romanov, most likely, was a gentle man, rather than a cruel one. My great-grandmother used to say that before the revolution, only lazy idlers lived poorly.
@@ОльгаГофман-о8у thank you for that! O was studying the Russian History too without bias, and I've learned the other History most books don't tell. These books were all written by lovers of the revolution and was not committed with the truth! I came up with the same conclusion that you are testifying here, as your great-grandmother used to tell you! And she was right! It was and still is this way in other coutries also!

An alternative view of historical events gives a more complete picture of what is happening. This is the only way to establish the truth.

Хорошо, можно гордиться Чайковским и Рахманиновым. Но тогда зеркально придется стыдиться и Ельцина с Чубайсом. Лучше всё-таки гордиться именно своими достижениями.
