    Nice demo! I want that pedal. I like the innovation of the non-pedal parts being in black and white. Genius.

    Great tones and playing. I have one on order. I too play through a Bad Cat (Black cat model) and use a PRS Core Silver Sky as my main axe. Sure to get some awsome tones

      I've played through both and there IS a noticeable difference. They're the same circuit apart from the diodes, so they do the exact same thing, yeah, but the germanium diodes have a little smoother, more dynamic mid range, especially when cranked. Just has a slightly more transparent dynamic sound when driving tubes. Even Pete in the Andertons video ended up admitting it, but it's a collector's piece now anyway so who cares.

    Love how these uber rare diodes always appear out of no where...

      Electronics components are often lying in storage in random little warehouses and shops and drawers etc for decades before anyone notices what they are or does anything with them.

      Just for the RUclips record, I GOT ONE! I went to Wampler's website and snagged one of these right after the demo - and I think within 2 to 3 days of J 's demo they were gone! J and I talked about this on Patreon (are you a member yet?), and agreed that this particular pedal sounded really great through the Yamaha - and was certainly the reason he demoed the pedal with it. I have 2 PRSs one of which is the DGT SE and it just did not do the job that the Yamaha did. But I'm in love with the Revstar II - it's a frickin' TONE MONSTER!

    I never got the whole klon thing. They sound like any other overdrive to me. But I have always been a bit of a naysayer.

    • @johnbradford2892
      @johnbradford2892 7 месяцев назад +3

      I kind of agree, I feel like it’s more of a dynamics thing. You feel the “klon” thing happening when you play

    • @Les537
      @Les537 7 месяцев назад

      They sound good as a dirty boost on a hot tube amp. They trim the bass and they are very dynamic. Think 70s rock. They suck used as a distortion.

    • @tlstechtalk
      @tlstechtalk 7 месяцев назад

      @@Les537 yeah , i play mostly solid state amps. Maybe that is why Klons don't do much for me. Also, i like the old school flabby bass sound!!!

    • @AD-kv9kj
      @AD-kv9kj 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@tlstechtalk Well yea, that'll be why. These sound amazing when you push them through a good tube amp. The mid dynamics are richer and smoother than the regular Tumnus, but if you're just playing some little amps at home or recording direct to laptops etc, it won't make much difference to you. These are really for people using good tube amps live, basically. They sound identical to the OG Klons when pushed.
