Thank YOU for this awesome track. Also, will you be using this vocalist for the FEMC night theme, or are you still sticking with Liris_Sings like you said before?
As time goes on and more and more FeMC content gets made I'm becoming more convinced it was a good thing Atlus didn't include her in reload. As much as I wish we could've had a full, official experience, I can't help but feel like if we did then all this incredible fan made content wouldn't have been made. I've seen more fanart, music, fanfics, etc etc come out since it became clear she wouldn't be in reload than I ever did before. It's been genuinely amazing to watch it all happen in real time and I find mself constantly excited for what else the community cooks up!
I love these lyrics so much,,, Full moon full life is like- "We don't know how much time we have, enjoy life while you have time." And Moonlight Daydream is like- "I want more time, someone give me and the people I love more time."
I see the male protag and female protag in P3 as two different portrayals of how people deal with death/their own mortality. Both are different portrayals that end at the same conclusion: "There is no greater love than this: that a person would lay down their life for the sake of their friends." I think the different portrayals in each character is pretty deep and it changes the mood of the playthrough depending on who you choose, it gives Femc more of a reason to exist other than just being a female counterpart 💖
Yeah it's sad because Femc bubbly and upbeat personality are her way to cope with constant depression and trauma. she tried her best to be 'happy' but part of her realized that her happiness is a lie.
I love how the song feels more depressing than Minato's opening songs especially Reload. To me, this song represents the REPRESSED sadness that Kotone feels inside her heart that she does not show to others. So this song represents the way her inner shadow is at their most apparent when displayed through this song, the voice of the soul. And the reason why this song is so sad in the lyrics is because it's like Kotone is feeling like she has lost everything or is going to lose everything through her facade of appearing cheery and being the group's anchor. There is desperation in these lyrics because Kotone really cares that much for others.
That's why i honestly prefer Kotone's route over Makoto's, it just feels so much more real and selfless yet makes her ending even more painful! (The lyrics literally having her beg for just a little more time with her friends :c)
You know it's funny that you mention that because I asked Neptune about the main message he was going for (when writing the lyrics) back in May 2024. He said he wanted to capture the mindset of the protagonist as well as the core themes of the game.
Absolutely stellar work. A more-than-worthy addition to the legendary list of Persona vocalists, official or not, each of whom embodies the sound of their respective modern Persona titles.
How I interpret this song is that this comes from someone who understands that they've understood that their time will be cut short. They scream out their frustrations with knowing such a fate and, out of desperation, almost wishes they could believe in a false reality.
This is how I’ve always chosen to characterize Makoto and Kotone as of the end of the game. People who, while slowly fading into the dark, scream their rage out into the aether, wishing they weren't lying to their friends about their impending demise.
When you think about it, we're all trying to believe the lie, of the currently-false reality where ATLUS actually brought the FeMC back for Reload. Truly meta. Here's to it being an actual reality in P6. 🤞
This reminds me of Full Moon Full Life but Kotone’s version of it. Atlus needs to hire you guys because this sounds so good and official. This song sounds perfect, you all did amazing on it.
The reason why I prefer Kotone over Minato is because she is the other side of depression the one that still cares and tries to hide it as much as someone is able to hold and how this song represents it is way better than Soul Phrase which I love but yeah better characterization here
Yeah, I prefer Kotone as well. As you said, she represents the other side of depression that isn't just the traditional "moody, closed-off, loner" type (and my Persona 3 experience was through Portable).
Kinda interesting that while MaleMC, is unable to save Shinji's fated demise, Kotone is able to do so by maxing out his Social Link with her, and locating his lost belonging. As far as I can tell without playing the male MC route, MaleMC was never able to form a Social Link with Shinjiro. Not even in 3 Portable. Kotone got more Social Links than MaleMC. Some content in Reload only exists because Kotone's route in 3 Portable had extra content MaleMC route lacked.
@@zigazav1 Well, Kotone doesn't exactly 'save' Shinji. He's still gonna die because of the drugs he's been taking. Takaya confirms this in the scene with Ken. Even if he did nothing, Shinjiro would still die.
This is gonna be a heavy comment, but I thought you'd like to hear it. When this video uploaded, I was in the hospital next to my dying Dad. I listened to it with him, even if he couldn't respond. I'm pretty sure he liked it. He passed a week later. The lyrics resonated with me then, and they do even more now. The instrumentation is so heartfelt, and it's now one of the songs I carry in my heart as I live on in his memory. It's a nice reminder that you can't ask for more time, but you can use the time you have to the fullest. In a way, this song is helping me through grief. And so I want to thank you so much, even if you didn't mean to. You helped me deal with these heavy days with reassurance and a nice tune. Lots of love.
I am convinced FemMC fans can make their own persona game at this point, banger soundtrack btw I like that the opening is simillar to Full Moon Full Life opening, the vocals is beautiful especially the "won't you let me" part, the beat the everything was beautiful.
"Full Moon Full Life" has been MY song since the first trailer. I listen to it at least once every day, almost as a habit. And this feels like the perfect partner to an amazing piece, with its own meaning and its own beauty. You all captured that song's somber yet energetic feeling of "We question why we're here, but we will keep moving!"
Lyrics (Mainly for myself) Moonlight, passes you… Fades it all from view All that, midnight blue... Becomes a memory of you. Your shadow, on the wall: A person I can’t recall The masks you wear Become your face, And your memories erase I seen it your face-tranquillity -Pull'n it out like some formality. And in this moonlight daydream Where I can’t find light Your shadow beckons me (Won't you let me...) inside, all this pain I hide, I couldn't feel, why can't I... believe my lie?
I love this compositionally and narratively. The music sounds so in-line with the vibe and tone of Persona 3; the melancholy within the power of its sound. The way Kotone is characterized through the lyrics and the vocals is perfectly fitting as well. The pain within her as she wears her mask is incredibly clear and potent in the chorus; her cries for help and the performance of those cries by the singer work together so harmoniously. Amazing job to everyone who worked on this, the composition, the instrumental, the lead vocals, the rapping, all of it was wonderful.
I hope in the future ATLUS finally gives Kotone the justice she deserves. The Kotone fans desire it. MaleMC has appeared in any game Persona 3 is represented in. Yet Kotone, the only games she appeared in officially (to my knowledge, as my only times of playing a Playstation is the regular PSP, so, I'm unfamiliar with any Persona content that never got ported to non-Sony platforms) was her introduction game 3 Portable, and the arguably non-canon game Persona Q2, where she and male MC are confirmed to be the same person, just as different gender. Yet maleMC gets to be in pretty much everything with relation to Persona 3. Even with the Persona 3 protag battle in Persona 5 Royal. Seriously, Kotone deserves better than being thrown out like ATLUS wants us to forget she exists, even though we won't.
Im extremely impressed how this turned out , its a love letter to not only Femce and her side of persona 3 but everyone whos been pushing her to be in the game . I truly hope the project of getting her in P3 reload comes to completion because if fans are able to make this kind of work ,then i know they can make it work .
My heart felt as though it was soaring throughout this song! Moonlight Daydream is an emotional high befitting of being a Persona opening theme, you've all done great work putting it together!
Really didn’t expect the guitar and those chords you hit on the second pass around for the full version. You killed it matching the Full Moon Full Life style man 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 In terms of these collaborators, I love how the rapper really matches Lotus, while the singer here is a little more original-that’s just how FEMC songs worked back in Portable. All of you did fantastic 🙏
Y'know, Truth be told, I never thought much about FEMC a while ago, but now that I have played P3P and played fully as FEMC, I truly appreciate her that much more, And this song perfectly encapsulates her character Well done, mosq 👏 Another banger for the collection
🤣 I never manage it no matter how proficient I get at the series. Even NG+ runs in like vanilla P5 I still messed up one or two. Not sure how it'll look yet at the end of P3Reload but so far it's looking like Chihiro at least ain't making the cut All that's the charm of course but still.
Part of me is still upset that ATLUS didn't put Kotone in P3R but this song has singlehandedly convinced me that they could never do her right like fans can. Like this track (and the music video!) punch well above their weight and handily beat the og P3 and FES intros. Like I'm in awe that people love this alt player character from 2009 this much and i fuck with the hustle so hard!
Ive watched this video non-stop, i absolutely adore it. Ive always thought the difference between the male and female protagonists of persona 3 is fascinating. Makoto Yuki finding purpose and working past his apathy just to sacrifice himself is tragic. Kotone isnt talked about as much, but i think she's a case of someone desperately trying to find purpose or happiness but being unable to... Masking her true emotions behind a kind and sweet persona, masking her true darker emotions. Her story is equally as satisfying and tragic to see her ultimate fear, the fear that she would have died before finding purpose or happiness be relieved as she gives up herself for all of her companions at the cost of her life. This song really shows how much I love Kotones story, someone who appears happy and cheerful but is searching for something that will actually make her happy. I could just be looking too far into this but this song is perfect for that feeling of desperation.
Kotone is the side of depression that...tbh isn't often talked about. The person who's trying and trying and doesn't want anyone else to know the pain she's going through because she doesn't want to be a burden. Someone who's....likely taken to heart the "well just don't be sad" comments that sadly even to this day maybe people with depression get. "Why can't I believe my lie?" The lie that I'm okay. The lie that nothing's wrong. The lie that life isn't hard. The lie it's not a struggle to get out of bed much less DO things. I'm happy I'm happy I'm happy. Don't you see my smiling and laughing and playing with my friends? Connecting and reaching out? I'm HAPPY. And yet inside no matter how you try you know you're not. You're not no matter what you try and make yourself believe. And this is why beyond being female myself I resonate with her more than Makoto. I can see and connect to his journey with depression and grief because tbh depression isn't linear or always the same. I've had makoto moments. But due to society and pressure I'll always be more like Kotone in how I deal with my mental illness. (Also that type of depression isn't often represented in media properly which is another reason I was really disappointed she's not in Reload. All hail the femc fandom for having my back there lol.)
@@SailorMusicCat I too can relate. I don't want others to be burdened by me and my emotional pains I suffer each day. So, I usually mask my sadness and depression from those around me. Otherwise, I blame myself for troubling them with my own pains. If my internal emotional pains needs to stay within me so others can be happy, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make every day. I relate so much with that mindset. My memories of my past hurt me emotionally every day, but, I most of the time hold the pain in myself, hiding it from others. Because, if I show I'm in emotional pain, others I care about will too. It's not a healthy mindset, not by a long shot, but it's a mindset I cannot escape from. My pain, is the price I pay for the happiness of those around me. If that truly is also how Kotone is feeling, I can relate to her better than any ATLUS franchise's characters, or nearly any character in fiction period
I've just recently realized that one of the central themes of Persona 3 is depression (should've been obvious to me from the start). When I look back on these lyrics with that in mind the interpretation of them is very sad. When I lip sync this song I start crying. Damn, I didn't know this game would hit me hard again.
Wonderful job again, you’ve really perfected the Meguro sound. In the half time section, it could be the strat or tone you’re using too, I feel the progression you chose to use, that B maj7 chord you hit at like 1:12ish reminds me a lot of the P1 PSP motifs where it used the flat 5 chord as well, which was a welcome addition. Was not expecting it and popped off a little bit listening. Your nuance is like no other my man, and as a fan and a musician I really appreciate what you do.
Hopefully ATLUS will notice the surge in Kotone fan content and make them acknowledge more that she exists, but, considering ATLUS seems heavily intent on ignoring her by not including her in any game other than her home game 3 Portable and Q2 (the only official games I know she's in), it pains me to believe, but they'll probably keep neglecting her. I know Persona 3 protags canonically are dead, but that didn't stop them from putting her in Q2, nor including maleMC in 5 Royal as an optional boss fight. So, there's no reason for Kotone to get neglected by ATLUS as much as she does, other than maleMC being ATLUS's personal bias to favor over her
So...I was streaming this on spotify for hours! And after I came home from work and listened to it again and focused more on the lyrics.... It just kinda feels like a Silent plea of everything Kotone has locked inside her and just a little more time to make everything right .. deeply thinking of shinji on that one AND IT MADE ME CRY, especially while singing along good job on making this !!!
Your music is seriously unreal, the fact that this fits so damn well with the lyrics and meaning and everything is even better! Massive respect to Unreachable and Neptune on this, very big Persona 3 energy here!
I discovered this a few months ago, I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS A FAN SONG UNTIL I SAW A VIDEO ANALYSIS OF FEMC MENTIONING THIS SONG AS ONE. NO JOKE I WENT THROUGH MY DAYS BELIEVING THIS WAS A CANON SONG THAT WAS ACTUALLY MADE FOR THE GAME OFFICIALLY. Y'all are fucking amazing
YAY TYSM FOR POSTING THE FULL VERSION! I was going to beg for this in the comments after listening to the opening for about 4-5 hours earlier, but my wish came true! thanks for the amazing song. I can guarantee I'll be at least 1000 of these views soon
FeMC Fandom is Cooking and I'm in awe of all of it. And hot damn this really conveys the feel of Kotone. A feel that I'm familiar with. A big reason, beyond being female myself, that I prefer her is how she deals with her depression and others is how I deal with it. By masking. By lying. By presenting a happy face to the world that I wish I could believe. Makoto represents one way of dealing and showing depression. Kotone represents another that, tbh, is often ignored. Appearing happy doesn't mean you are. Appearing open and friendly....doesn't mean you are. Kotone masks with happiness where Makoto goes for distant coldness. And I just relate to Kotone a lot more because of it.
Same here myself. I pretend to be okay most of the time, when in truth, I'm hurting inside every day... the emotional pain needed to be endured, and masked, so I don't make those around me suffer from my pain, I'm all too familiar with that...

Neptune sounds so much like Lotus Juice i genuinely thought it was the real deal sampled from another song or something
This Femc themed opening sounds amazing, great work to everyone involved!
please keep her alive.... she holds a special place in all our hearts!!!
literal kotone fans did ''hold on ...let her cook''
Really didn’t expect the guitar and those chords you hit on the second pass around for the full version. You killed it matching the Full Moon Full Life style man 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
In terms of these collaborators, I love how the rapper really matches Lotus, while the singer here is a little more original-that’s just how FEMC songs worked back in Portable. All of you did fantastic 🙏
Thank you, Arctic!!
This is so good! The vocalists are great! I wish they made this for Reload, along with a FemC route of course
0:40 i love how the soul phrase motif is used here
Came to romance Junpei, stayed for Kotone's characterisation.
wait but the "moon is fading into twilight skies" has "LET ME SING A LULLABYYYYY YEAH" vibes jesus christ thats so crisp
This song is amazing. You dont stop hitting with these tracks. Cant wait for when it goes live.
This is one of the best Persona songs and ITS FAN MADE.
hot take: I actually like this more than full moon full life
You aren't alone
Easily third best Persona 3 opening... because... Burn My Dread...
@@Eterco yeah, honestly persona 3 original opening is my favorite of the entire series, the vibe was so unique.
You nailed the hell out of it! Bravo! Kudos to the singer, too!
I'm absolutely in love with the FeMC bros
full moon full life... TWO!
Y'know, Truth be told, I never thought much about FEMC a while ago, but now that I have played P3P and played fully as FEMC, I truly appreciate her that much more, And this song perfectly encapsulates her character
Well done, mosq 👏
Another banger for the collection
Atlus fans are absolutely thriving
I love how this _perfectly_ reconciles the new P5-inspired direction of Reload with the older rock style of og P3!
I love the Kotone community for creating one of my favorite persona songs❤
0:55 me trying to max out all arcana on my first run blind
this made me want to buy p3p on steam rn.
🤣
I never manage it no matter how proficient I get at the series. Even NG+ runs in like vanilla P5 I still messed up one or two. Not sure how it'll look yet at the end of P3Reload but so far it's looking like Chihiro at least ain't making the cut
All that's the charm of course but still.
"I will be there"
Edit: Femc fans eating good right now. HELP PLEASE PUT THIS ON SPOTIFYY!
I love this fandom so much. What a gorgeous love letter to this character and this series!
Y'all really did an amazing job, it never ceases to amaze me just what can be created with a team of passionate, motivated, and talented individuals
This hit me so much , because my first run was with kotone in portable, suggested by a friend and I would do It again
This song is 100% about Shinjiro, knowing that he's eventually going to die because of the suppressants, and I refuse to be told otherwise
DUDE. THIS IS SO FIRE 😭😭😭😭🩷🩷 amazing work from everyone involved!! I put this song on my playlist so fast lol!!
I listened to this for the first time recently
AND HOLY COW
THIS IS GREAT
Just found this randomless in my for you
what is this
WHAT IS THIS
I LOVE THIS COMMUNITY WE STAY WINNINH
This is a master piece man. I've been wanting for days.
as i commented in the Opening video,
THIS IS PEAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I've just recently realized that one of the central themes of Persona 3 is depression (should've been obvious to me from the start). When I look back on these lyrics with that in mind the interpretation of them is very sad. When I lip sync this song I start crying. Damn, I didn't know this game would hit me hard again.
This randomly popped up on my Apple Music and I never knew it was persona related. Actually insane what Femc fans are capable of
Please put this on spotify. It's incredibly good.
the song really got me emotional just now huhu
This right from the get-go is so lovely. Great work, I can never get enough of the beautiful pieces of art you have been putting out. ❤❤❤
Who will believe it's a fan work? That makes me cry. Thank all of your work!
it just needs that engrish sound too make it sound legit 😭
Remember seeing this on twitter and god damn yall are amazing and talented. I’m over here vibing to this. Shame on atlus for doing this to our FEMC
It just kinda feels like a Silent plea of everything Kotone has locked inside her and just a little more time to make everything right .. deeply thinking of shinji on that one
AND IT MADE ME CRY, especially while singing along
good job on making this !!!
Thank you for all the team efforts to create this masterpiece. It really fits FEMC Persona 3 vibes 👏👏✨
Oh man I’ve been waiting for the full version since I’ve watched Neptune’s video yesterday.
ABSOLUTELY phenomenal work. This song is amazing!!! Bravo to everyone involved, this is fantastic.
本当に素晴らしい感動しました。
Amazing job on this. You captured her character and the music fits well with reloads
This is peak! Thank you so much for the song! Kotone will be really lucky if she is real TT
Your music is seriously unreal, the fact that this fits so damn well with the lyrics and meaning and everything is even better! Massive respect to Unreachable and Neptune on this, very big Persona 3 energy here!
Incredible work! Such a good mix of persona 3's musical Identity as a whole, you can feel it all here.
This is absolutely outstanding! The instrumentation, mixing, vocals are just 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 🔥💖✨
Needs way more treble. You can even see it on the visualizer. Sounds like Im hearing it in the other room
You all cooked so hard with this, I am in shambles listening to this; it will be on repeat for a LONG time.
Can't wait to see your next work!!
President Tanaka approves
YAY TYSM FOR POSTING THE FULL VERSION! I was going to beg for this in the comments after listening to the opening for about 4-5 hours earlier, but my wish came true! thanks for the amazing song. I can guarantee I'll be at least 1000 of these views soon
I feel like at this point if persona 6 doesn't have a female protagonist option ww3 will start
I don't usually comment on vids but this song is so beautiful shout out to everyone who worked on this it's amazing!
Thank you!
I'm shocked how well this captures smiling depression.
Dude, do the world a favour and make more original music. More people need to hear more from you. This is very well done
Cutscenes for Kotone in PSP. The Evolution of Kotone Mod in P3 Reload. Yeah Kotone fans are truly the best
Listening to the song isnt enough, I need to inject it into my bloodstream. What a masterpiece
I can't stop playing this song; it's so beautiful! This definitely captures everything about Persona 3, its music, and it's message to the player.
