She actually had vocal surgery already because her vocal chords were bad.. She’s talked about it in interviews, she said doctors told her that her chords looked like a 50 year old rock singer and she was only in her twenties. That’s actually why her voice is so raspy now, from her damaged chords and having surgery. She still sounds phenomenal though!
