Gorgeous!! I’m getting out my 14g and getting started! You are an awesome teacher! I taught elementary school for 23 years. I’m ready to make jewelry! I love your attention to detail and finishing. It makes all the difference in the final piece. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with this newbie.
Thank you, Linda! That's high praise coming from a professional teacher! Have fun making the bracelet and please don't hesitate to ask questions if you run into any problems. ❤
I absolutely love this bracelet for several reasons, one being the weaving is not the star. I like clean lines without a lot of texture, classic eye-pleasing shaping. You go slowly so we can really absorb the process. I particularly was grateful for your deliberate discussions on the sanding and polishing.
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed this make-along and that you appreciate my detailed content. I'm working on creating more content soon, so stay tuned for more projects like this one! 😊
Look forward to having my wire and tools again so I can start this awesome bracelet. My mom woul love it. So glad when I came across you webpage when I started the wire weaving journey. I applaud your guts for sharing your content for free.
I'm glad you found my website, too. Happy to have you here! Please feel free to ask questions any time. Is there anything particular you'd like to see in a video tutorial?
I loved that as you worked, you showed, what it was we were exactly doing on the certain part of the bracelet. I will soon have my hobby room completed and I look forward to being organized, with all my supplies in one place. I am so excited to learn this new phase of making jewelry, You are an excellent teacher.
Thank you, Rosie! I do try to show all the things because I know how frustrating it is for beginners to feel like they're not getting it when the real problem is that they've not been shown the whole process. So, you can count on getting the complete picture here at Door 44. Welcome, and thanks for watching!
There was a time when I didn't have the patience for it, but once you see the results of all that effort, it's so worth it! And then it's hard to go back to skimping on the finishing steps. Now that I've been doing it for so long, it's become my favorite part of the process. It's sort of soothing and meditative. 😊
Another awesome instructional video, Wendi! I love the 12g! I'm going to try that for sure! I'm watching the whole process first and then I'll watch again to make the project. Thanks so much for sharing your experience and knowledge xx

I have to say, using the correct tool is invaluable! I was trying to move the metal with a regular hammer and getting very poor results. I just got my chasing hammer in, and it moves the metal so quickly! I was getting discouraged before, thinking you were doing some magic 😆
Yes! The right tool makes a huge difference. I see so many beginners struggle with hammer techniques. And, nine times out of ten, it's because they're using the wrong kind of hammer. What made you decide to buy a chasing hammer?
This is so amazing. It's very beautiful. I like your style very much. Thank you so much for your useful tutorials. I just wonder that would you mind if I sell product following some of your tutorials?
Thank you so much! The 12ga bracelet is copper. I use copper wire pretty much exclusively, though I have been dabbing with some brass wire lately, just for fun. So, you may see me use brass in some future tutorials.
That's not a weird question at all! I polish after oxidizing, but I don't do any sanding at that point. Just a couple of hours in the tumbler. Or, alternatively, I'll polish by hand if the piece has gemstones that aren't safe to tumble.
You'll find all of my bracelet tutorials here: door44studios.com/tag/bracelets/ There are only three at the moment, but I am working on more. Just haven't been able to spend much time on new tutorials lately. 😞
Not really. A ball peen hammer is much too heavy for wirework. And it also has a flat face on the planishing side rather than a domed face. If you're going for a very rustic look, you can use a ball peen hammer. But it's very difficult to achieve a nice refined tool mark-free finish with such a heavy hammer. I talk about this in this blog post:door44studios.com/how-to-use-a-chasing-hammer/
Can I incorporate a large flat bead into this somehow? I want to gift a memory gift bracelet to a friend- loss of her pet. It is a paw print. Thank you
Sure! There are a couple of different ways to approach that, and I'd have to know the size of the bead to give you more specific instructions. But you can easily incorporate the bead into the loops for the waves. Add a few inches of length to your 14g core wire and play around with the waves until you figure out a way to frame your bead. Sometimes it helps to sketch it out on paper first.

round steel files for sharpening chainsaws work great for those small rounder spots
They do indeed. Thanks for sharing that useful tip!

Sooooo pretty and simple, what metal is the thicker gauge bracelet?

Wonderful tutorial.. I don't if this is a weird question do you sand and polish before you oxidize and then polish again ? Thanks 😊 😬

I'm sorry, I have one more question and thankyou for responding. Will a ball peen hammer work the same as a chasing hammer?

Okay I'm stuck again. I can't make out whether the long piece of wire is at the top or bottom
Nevermind, I think the longer piece of the wire is at the top and the shorter one is at the bottom.
@@gstunna26 that is correct. I don't think I did a very good job of capturing that in the video. So, I'm glad you figured it out.
No you actually did a wonderful job with the tutorial. My kids just be messing up my concentration lol.
@@gstunna26 🤣
Is that real gold wire and is it dead soft?
It's dead soft copper wire. I work with copper pretty much exclusively. Once in blue moon, I'll use brass, bronze, or silver.
