But the early jet age saw an even faster period of development, with the aeronautical theory trailing behind the engineering, and incredible dangers for the pilots. Hello, i really appreciate your videos, the staging with a simulator is really well done, and your English with your clear voice, is understandable by a non-English.
Another excellent video. Always enjoyable to watch. Now, technically I would have said that the very first instance of one jet powered aircraft over another jet powered aircraft would have actually taken place in early August 1944 when RAF 616 Squadron destroyed 2 V1 jet powered flying bombs ~ the first cruise missile. Admittedly with the early Meteor Mk. 1 suffering from repeated jamming issues with their Hispano 20mm cannon, the first V1 was taken down by the Meteor pilot who, after his guns jammed (yet again) positioned his wing underneath the V1 wing ~ a tiny target at high speed ~ and using the airflow over his wing to topple the V1’s autopilot gyroscope, sent it down to earth. His wingman then shot down another V1 and 616 Squadron ended up with a total of 13 claimed V1 kills during the V1 bombardment.
