Follow up question: Worst case scenario, I upgrade a rare to a 6*, and then realize what I've done. I ascend it to 7* using an Epic champion, so now it's an Epic 7*. Next I marry it to another champion, replace one of the traits with something higher level... then again... then again... but isn't the clan-specific trait always going to be level 4? I mean, I know you can force another clan-specific trait onto a champion... but THE clan specific trait that my original rare started with was level 4, and won't it always be level 4? Thanks!
The clan trait will be the only trait that upgrades when you increase the rarity with ascension. I think I said otherwise in this video. My info at the time was wrong. But all the other traits stay the same.
So what do you do with the blues you took to 5 or 6 stars? Are they just trash when you find a higher rarity? Upgrading is clearly a bad idea so it seems they are just marraige fodder.
It depends on the champion and situation. 5 start champions can be used to ascend to level 11-15 so they aren't useless. You can change the traits through marriage, but that can be costly. However, if it's a champion I plan on using long term, I'll probably have to spend resources even if I find the mythic. In that case I'll just do the upgrades as needed. For example I have a 5 star common F Ugrull which I put a mythic level athletic on, and as I can I'll keep upgrading her. Hope that explanation isn't confusing and helps.
@@blg3rnt Will you do a counter video for the "Scorpion" Tidestorm Male? I struggle when he gets teamed up with the Succubus very hard due to the outrageous cc. Plus, my own succubus never seems to target the tidestorm.
I just wish there was a way to "downgrade" stars. I made some mistakes early on and now I want that fodder back....lol. Very good advice here. Thank you.
I don't think there even needs to be that. It should just be the Star Requirement "or higher". You should be able to use a 5 star instead of a 4 star, etc. I'm guessing we'll see that sooner or later.

So I made a big mistake. Didn't realize I needed a higher rarity of the same exact champion to ascend rarity and now have an epic 11 star champion. Am I going to have to grind enough to get them up to 12 and have a higher rarity version or is there an easier way to save the situation? Please help. It's not possible to DEscend a hero, right? I have an old 6 star Rare hero that I don't need anymore that I'd love to bump down to 5 or 4 stars for ascending other heroes
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. To ascend an 8 to a 9 star you need five 4 star champions, two which match the champion you are trying to ascend.

I wish I had watched this one soon. I was capping my non Mythics @ 4* because I didn't know 5* would be used later on in ascending.

5* is useable once you reach 11+, but 6 and higher can't ever be used for fodder.

If it says "champion is locked" go to that champion in your collection and tap the lock icon in the upper right hand corner.
