My ARB, which was kept in very good condition just blew a hose and left me stranded. I'd paid over $400 about 10 years ago for it. I borrowed a mate's Kings Adventurer (twin piston) and it blew up my tyres in more than half the time. Then he told me the 2024 price of the Kings--$150. The hose alone for the ARB is $50.
Good job guy’s. I have a couple of single thumpers for about five years & both still work well apart from needing to redo the plastic airline occasionally if it gets too hot, not a big issue for the price difference
The best part of this whole vid is that you, Dad and Unc are all day drinking. Haha Thanks for the back to back comparison. People always carrying on about paying more for quality, but even IF Kings fail after a few years, you can afford to have a couple of spares... and you'd have to go through 5 of them outside of warranty before the ARB proves to be better value.
That’s true for somethings but for me, I just want things to work properly. Being on a long trip and having gear break/fail when you actually need it shits me to tears. Getting a replacement unit afterwards is cold comfort. Fire to Fork has a great concept with his build in that everything he modified has to last 10 years or more.
@@chrispyscampingadventures You’d need to carry 2 x Thumpers around as you wouldn’t know when it was going to quit on you! I also run the twin ARB mate
I used a mates thumper and thought geeeeeeezuz christ that’s fast !!!!!!!!!! Insane for the price. Personally I think ARB are taking the absolute piss with their prices now. At $1000 the ARB should shit on the thumper with speed aswell as the quality,
Had my thumper 4yrs now going as strong as the day I bought it and used about every 2nd weekend. I had single ARB and would take twice as long to inflate. The ARB got wet one night from being left out in the rain (lid left open on the box) and wouldn't start. Took it to ARB and they said nothing they can to do it's now trashed. Not worth the money when there are better and cheaper options.
28 seconds.....now do the same test with the same compressors in 5yrs! It’s fine to say “The Thumper is cheap....you can buy another one when it decides to give up the ghost”. Where will it give up the ghost? In the middle of nowhere when you’ve gotta air up. To me, it’s just not worth the risk
Mate I've been through two of the ARB twin compressors because the pressure switches shit themselves and won't start at all. Had to bridge them just to pump tyres in the middle of nowhere. They are truly terrible quality
@@joelwitha0956 Well you didn't need to buy another Twin, You could of just replaced the pressure switch or carried a spare one in it's case, The thing with the ARB is it is 100% rebuildable, try getting parts for the thumper, There is a 5 and 10 Tyre test on YT between the ABR Twin and the Thumper and the Thumper didn't get past 6 Tyres and it died,
@@user-tv8sm6so9y a $1000 compressor and ya gunna carry spares. Rrrrrright. Arb are not what they used to be. I wouldn’t buy either but that being said for the average 4wdriver the thumper will shit on the arb all day everyday and have you at the pub a drink earlier. Arb need to try harder
Any proof ARB is actually more reliable? Far as I know, it doesn't have the military pedigree of ExtremeAire and Oasis compressors. It also doesn't match the performance to $ ratio of the new Sherpa compressor.
Would you buy a throw away Ute ?? I don't think So. So why would you buy a throw away Compressor, Spend upwards on a 60K Ute and cheap out on a $100 compressor Oh and regardless of Kings Claims the thumper does not have a 100% Duty Cycle, They are Crap.

@@Apbt-rv7zw @Apbt 2010 You can't put the blame on ARB for something you did wrong. Also the ARB is sealed and can work under water with Filter extensions so you need to checkout the switch gear or the pressure switch, I know of many people who have had their ARB Singles for over 10 years and had their vehicles up to their windscreens in water, so yours should be a simple fix, Make a short bridging wire and take the 2 wires from the pressure switch and join them up with the wire and see if that works and then try connecting the wire direct to the motor and see if that works. Good luck.

And you are clueless full of shit & are a typical kings knocker for the sake of it My thumper max does all four of my 33s plus the boat trailer tyres from 15- 40 psi without cutting out and does it faster

quick question, were the tyres the same size on both vehicles? if they were different then the volume will be different.
