I think you are comparing only to Kerala, but the case is different in other metros in india. Post covid, IT company Salaries are decent in india also. For experience more than 8 years in Bangalore, getting salaries well over 25 lakh to 40 lakhs per year. In UK, same IT job will attract salary in 50 to 80 lakh. i. e., wen comparing the expense and tax, there is not much difference in these days. UK salary will be just twice that of indian IT Salary.

I want to point out that salary and savings difference UK vs India is reduced. If you start a business we can reduce the tax, also more dependents(married and children’s, also eligible for child benefits). For British citizens mostly education fees are less in higher education.Even i am also working as a software professional here.
UK salary in the IT sector has gone slightly down and seems stagnated post the new visa guidelines introduced post Brexit. Most local jobs are starting at about 45 lks INR and maxing out at 75 lks INR. Of course some profiles may be worth more but they are few compared to the others. I was one of the few who joined a UK company before Brexit and was lucky enough to be offered well into the 6 figure GBP mark thankfully. Apart from the salary figure there are other ways that you can save tax and secure your future in a much better way in the UK than possible in India. Comparison wise I still do think UK holds the edge over any metro in India for now but only if you know how to make the most of the opportunity. And the work culture just can't be compared to anything in India. India is an offshore hub and all the work for the onshore is done by the assembly chain in India. Not sure what the pay situation exactly is in India currently, I have also heard that IT in India pays quite well these days but only if you are willing to switch and that you possess some skill that is most wanted.
