    OMG so happy to FINALLY hear someone mention Grave Mercy. I feel like I never hear anyone mention it (though it might have been earlier on in booktube), but that series is what introduced me to bad ass lady assassin's and i absolutely adore it!

    Same for when it comes to female friendships. I actually was surprised by the fact that there was one in Throne of Glass...that was probably the only highlight for me.
    Siege and Storm is my favorite cover and book in the series as well!

    GAH! I am so happy that you share my enthusiasm for the Graceling series - it's such a great world to be in, Kristin Cashore's writing is just stunning, and all of the characters are so well-developed and nuanced. She's said that she's working on two other books at the moment (not from the Graceling realm, but something paranormal-ish, possibly urban fantasy?) which I am incredibly excited for. I just want to devour more of her writing!

      ***** Ah I had no idea she was writing anything else! Last time I checked, she was very hush hush about what she was up to. That makes me so happy :)

    THANK YOU so much for hyping the Graceling companion novels! Graceling is in my top 5 books of all time, and I always love to see other people gush about it! :) Also, kept seeing For Darkness Shows the Stars in the background, and I finally read it a little while ago and just LOVE!

      LuhvleeLexx Graceling deserves all the hype and more. Ooh I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've been meaning to get to it and keep putting it off but I hopefully can get to it soon (story of my life.)

      It's a beautiful book, and I'm itching to get the sequel to it!

    yay, so many great recs! I haven't read a bunch on here, and I really need to get around to it. But definitely seconded on Grave Mercy. I actually JUST finished the trilogy. Often I'll take breaks inbetween books in a series even when they're all out, but I didn't do it with this one. I really loved all of them, and the second on in the series is actually my favorite.

    I love love love Graceling and the Fallen Kingdoms series. With the Grisha trilogy, I had some problems with the ending. I didn't like the ending at all, I felt it was unnecessary and kinda anticlimactic with all the buildup that we were getting. Nevertheless, it is an awesone series. I loved the first two books and maximum part of the last one. The Winner's Curse is amazing. I love the writing so much. It's very poetic and I love everything about that book. I'll start the Winner's Crime after my exams. Can't wait. :) p.s. :- I'm watching this video probably for the 5th time now. I love this video a lot. I can't stop watching it. :D

    Wow, so many awesome recommendations! I also love fantasy but recently I haven't been reading it that much and you just inspired me to pick up something from my huge fantasy TBR! Oh, and thank you for mentioning Graceling Realm trilogy - it's one of my all time favorite fantasy series but it's not talked about a lot so it's great to know that someone on this planet loves it as much as I do :) I totally love Kristin Cashore's writing and her originality. I sometimes feel like in series authors follow the same pattern but here each book feels like a completely new story with its own unique characters. And the way it all wrapped up... just amazing! btw. I would totally want silver-blue tiger :D - onka -

    It's great to hear The Winner's Curse is good, because the covers are so pretty haha. Unpredictable sounds awesome, I absolutely hate it when a plot is really predictable, and I sometimes feel this is a rather common problem in YA- literature :/

    oh wow that is such a cool tag o: question: would you make a difference between ya fantasy and fantasy in general? it really got me thinking because I always say that my favourite genre is fantasy but looking at my read books they are mostly ya fantasy ((: and wow I did not know that The Assassins Curses publishing house is closing - I actually tried to win a copy of the book a while ago in a goodreads giveaway - oh well. but I was able to find one last paperback copy on amazon (germany) which wasn't priced at somewhere above 100 bucks so yaiih and thanks to you ^-^ and YES to more fantastical creatures ((: have you read the Temeraire series? It's adult fantasy but it's all about dragons and there is such a great concept to it.. you should check it out if you haven't already ((:

    • @ThoughtsOnTomes
      @ThoughtsOnTomes  9 лет назад +1

      allthingsbookish I usually don't but for this I did just to narrow it down and because I do see a difference between YA and adult fantasy. YA fantasy tends to be much more fast paced, while the adult fantasy I have experiance with tends to be more high fantasy. It just was an easier way to narrow it down for me :)Yay I'm so glad you were able to get a copy! I have not but I will have to look into it. Thank you :)
