I think Betrayer Sans would have lost patience with the player. Looking at the fact that he is more serious than others, from the last attack of AinavolAgem, who sacrificed his life, Betrayer Sans would still be full of madness and resentment, even though his body became slime.
@@realer. I like to think that it's a combination of both, although the slash is the more likely canon answer thanks to Phase 5. Both in the animation and official art for phase 5 he has a Slash Wound after all. I personally like to think that he was hit and then retreated so ainavilagem's explosion didn't finish him off.

@@imthee99o Yeah, the Karmatic Time Trio is what makes AAgem's explosion a hit or miss cause for Dust's retreat. It's still something I like to go with mostly by preference. It just feels appropriate with how much of a boost the player would get if Dust died at that point.
