Damn, i feel so bad for Wilhelm. He tried to do "the right thing" and got screwed over so bad. The queen talked him into denying the video though she had no intention of punishing August. While my heart breaks for Simon, at least he has a supportive mom and great friends. Wilhelm has no one on his side and it makes me want to cry.
I think the ending shows Wilhelm responding/dealing with the new situation, that no one not even his mom really supports him but everyone demand he shall support the crown … Simon said Wilhelm must come to terms with what he wants to do, what he stands for, I think this (the hug outside the church) is Wilhelm’s first attempt to be open, to be out, he knows everyone is watching, he knows everyone in school know it was him in the video … though he said it was not … this is his way of showing “this love is true”. His first step to his personal revolution.
My takes on a few points you brought up: 🔸on August's reasons: Wilhelm exposing his financial situation to everyone at the Society was one of the reasons, but it was basically just the last straw for him that pushed him over the edge, his real reason was envy (and therefore resentment towards the person that has what August wants). He would die to be a crown prince of the royal family (he hasn't lived it, so he doesn't see all the downsides to it, just the benefits, all things that he values greatly: money, power/authority) so when he sees someone who has that but (in his opinion) doesn't appreciate it or even want it, he gets angry/resentful at that person. It's a case of "you're so ungrateful to have this thing that so many people, including myself, would love to have but can't." 🔸on Wilhelm being easily persuaded to change his mind: I think a lot of his decisions after Erik's death have been influenced by said death. It seems to me like he feels an immense pressure to honour Erik in particular. Because Erik was very much into his role as the crown prince, I think deep down Wilhelm feels like he'd be shitting on his dead brother if he didn't do the same/if he wasn't "as good as Erik" at it. It doesn't help that his mom brought up the fact that everyone will compare them, as that just makes the whole thing worse. I really think that aspect is always in the back of Wille's mind. 🔸on the show flipping our views on Sara and Felice: I completely agree and I think that's brilliant. We get so many shows with the stereotypical trope of "spoiled rich bitch" female character and "poor(er) bullied/ostracized nice girl" female character and it usually ends with everyone seeing how great the nice girl actually is (sometimes after she gets a glow-up of some kind) and the mean girl gets a come-uppance, but each of them stays in their lane of either nice or mean. However, on Young Royals, during the 1st episode we all think we were going to hate Felice and love Sara (despite little hints already being put in that this may not be the case), but it's totally subverted. The rich girl is actually really nice and the ostracized one does some really selfish/shitty things. I really liked that flip. 🔸on Sara herself: I agree with Thea Bruun's comment, so I'm not going to say anything more on that in order not to repeat the same thing.
The break up scene hurts my soul so much. I wanted to cheer for Simon for putting himself first but i also wanted to curl up in a ball and sob. It's clear that Simon loves Wilhelm and it hurt him so much to break it off. And seeing Wilhelm trying not to break down sobbing in that scene, trying to respect Simon's choice. Damn. I like how they're somewhat on good terms now. Wilhelm hugged and apologized to him. But I'm still in pain, damn it! Season 2, fix this now!
Even though I don’t agree with Sara’s behavior in this episode, I do kinda understand her motivations. Her mom is planning on sending her back to a school, where she was bullied so much that she was scared to come to school and had to re-do a year because of it (we hear this in episode 1), which she obviously doesn’t want. And keep in mind that episode 5 was probably the happiest time for her in years (she has friends, she feels included, and she gets to be the center of attention for something positive (which I can’t imagine has happened much before)). And now all of that is going to be taken away from her and she’s going to be sent back to a place that was likely hell to her. Of course she is going to try all her options to stay at Hillerska. On top of that, she feels majorly betrayed by Simon, since they had a pact to tell each other everything, and he still met with their dad without telling her (and when she asked him about why their dad contacted her again, he even lied to her about it), and likely doesn’t understand why her happiness should be taken away “just” because something happened to him. Again, not saying that she didn’t mess up this episode, but I do somewhat understand her motivations for doing the things that she does. I do still believe that she can be redeemed.
I completely agree with this and it's why I'm more "lenient" with her than a lot of other people I've seen/talked to about her. I'd just like to add that the reason why she feels so betrayed by Simon lying to her could have something to do with her Asperger's as well. I say this because one of my best friends is on the autism spectrum and she sees lying a bit differently than neurotypical people. Yeah, no one likes being lied to, but it's a much bigger deal to her if her loved ones lie to her, also because she sometimes has a hard time understanding the motivations behind the lie, etc. It's possible that Sara is the same way and it wasn't some small lie, it was about something that clearly has a huge emotional impact on Sara (the resentment towards her dad). Plus, as you said, they had an actual pact about it (one that Simon actually already broke by not telling her about his relationship with Wille, but she understood why that one time and both of them re-made that pact right then and there, like "ok, from _now on_ there really won't be any secrets between us anymore," so Simon broke it AGAIN by lying about the situation with their dad). I also believe that Sara's self-esteem was so damaged by the bullying at her previous school that she truly believes the friends she's made only like her because she acts like them/tries to do things they (aka the rich elites) do. She doesn't see that Felice befriended her because she _likes_ who Sara IS, not who she's trying to be. I think there's a potential for Sara to come back into our good graces by the end of the show (if there are more seasons, of course). I'm disappointed in her and hate what she did in the last episode too, but I'm not so mad at her that I don't see myself ever liking her again.
The only thing that i feel hurt about Sara is that when she said "it's only school" to Simon when he's clearly affraid of being bullied, after the video leaked and everyone in the country alr seen his face. I mean, of all people, Sara should be the one who'd understand him better since she was a victim before. Instead of angry i think Simon would probably feel sad and broken if he knew Sara knew about August and that's even worse.
What I love with this show is we understand both Wilhelm & Simon situation... AMAZING show! I really hope there will be a revolution, I mean that stare in the end, well 😏
Love how this show tackles so much; concept of monarchy, reputation & class obsession, representation, coming of age drama, while depicting genuine teenage characters, all in under 6 hrs... under 300 pages... like h o w
I actually think this was the best outcome for now. I know Simon doesn't see it that way but if you think about it, he had that one journalist show up to his house and he hated it. Imagine what would happen if it was confirmed that he hooked up with the prince, how many journalists would want to talk to him then? Now it's just some random person in the video with him and who's realistically gonna care about that? I also don't know if their relationship would have survived being in the public eye this early on seeing as up until now it's been very rocky. It's an unfortunate situation all around, all bc of August. He can choke.
TOTALLY agree. It's easy to say we'll be together but the factors around who Willhelm is will always be huge. And they are still kids. So much growing to do and I don't know if they would survive it. Hell grown adults, twice their age, can't. This is what's best for the time being .....much as we all want them together. IMHO
Tbf you might be right, they are still so early into their relationship that this could have torn them apart. I just hope they can get through this and come out the other side together and happy
I thought the exact same! Sex tapes unfortunately pop up online all the time, but who cares if it's just two randoms in the video? I just feel really awful for both of them. The trauma of a video like that being shared online as an adult is bad enough, but imagine being 16 year olds in what we assume is their first real relationship, sleeping together for the first time and it being broadcast so publicly to the world. As much as I adore them together, they're really young and Wilhelm was far from ready to come out. It wouldn't have worked had he confirmed he was in the video and there probably would have been resentment all round. At least here they both made the best decisions they could have for themselves and they respected each other for it. Now they get to both grow as individuals before (hopefully) coming back to each other.
First let me address the writing and acting ... both are phenomenal on Young Royals! Often in series like this, the writers give a lot of action (plot twists), which ends up with poor character development; or they spend a lot of time with character growth, but produce a slow moving story line because of it. This show has both, with every episode almost a full movie on its own - hence the reason it is so addictive. As for the acting, the chemistry between Willie and Simon (who are best friends in real life), is tangible. And all the characters are so well developed with their own back stories - even (GASP!) August. I can't help but wonder if they aren't hinting at an eating disorder storyline for him in Season 2, as his own life continues to spiral out of control. Sara's Asperger's struggles are also well written - the idea of seeing things in "black and white" is very common with that. As for the ending, I think that Willie is putting it together that the ONLY person who has his best interests at heart is Simon (well, maybe Felise, too). And the PDA display he gives Simon at the church was his first salvo at the establishment. I think his expression in the car as he left - especially when he looks at the camera - is one of decision and determination. The unspoken words I think are "It's time to blow this motherF'er up!" Thanks for you thoughtful - and often emotional - reactions to this series. Like you I can't wait for Season 2! BTW, you are an ADORABLE ginger as well!
It's the fact that Wilhelm was under so much pressure and the whole thing with the statement went so fast, he barely had time to really consider all of his options. Obviously, this wasn't the best decision and it sucks that Simon is left alone in this, but to be fair, I think things would have been even worse if it was confirmed that he was dating the future king of Sweden. Like not only the press, but all those vile and jealous people out there... that would have been an absolute nightmare. The video only created drama bc of who Wilhelm is but since he denied it, perhaps people will drop it and even though this video will probably never disappear, things are gonna be easier for Simon... But still this is an horrible situation they were both in and I'm glad that Simon took a step back and chose himself, and that Wilhelm understood that. Love the communication in that show!
i love wilhelm so much, i just want to give the poor boy a hug his situation is just so fucked up. it breaks my heart. after erik died he really felt like he had no one other than simon. and it got even sadder because when he came back to school after erik i think he started to feel like he had august too, with the video too. when the video came out he felt like his mother actually cared and was really trying to do what was best for his life (i think he caved because she brought up the attention and pressure and how much he hates it as is). and then both of them betray him. wilhelm realized during that phone call that his mother doesn’t actually care about him. sure she loves him but she chose to protect august over her son and that’s not fair to wille. you can feel the emotion building in the final scene when they say goodbye. wilhelm realizes he denied the video and lost simon for a monarchy that doesn’t give a shit about him or his feelings. i feel like in return, he’s not going to give a shit about the monarchy. maybe i’m hoping for too much but when he looks into the camera you can feel the anger radiating off of him. and they made it so it said ‘revolution’ right when he broke the 4th wall. i don’t think he’s gonna do anything super crazy in season 2 but i feel like he’s done protecting the monarchy because they refused to protect him when he needed it. also i hope we get to see some development with wilhelm’s clear anxiety issues in season 2. shits about the hit the fan and i’m curious with how he’s going to cope with it. edvin is INCREDIBLE and i think he’d do a great job showing wilhelm’s management of his panic attacks in the future overall i think the ending is the absolute best we could’ve gotten because it actually sets up so much for season 2. if it ended happily no one would be so on edge wanting to know what’s going to happen, better chances for a renewal!!
Just wanted to point out an important detail. When the queen visits Wilhelm, they have translated it so she says “I don’t want you to be seen with Simon (…) We have to sort this out”, which doesn’t sound so caring.. But what she really says is “I don’t want you to see Simon during this (…) We have to sort this out first”. So she’s really saying that their relationship isn’t a problem, it’s just the outing and media that’s a mess. And that’s a big change in how to view her as a character !
Edvin (actor who plays Wille) said in one of his interviews that in the last scene when he was walking towards the car all Wille wanted to do is run back to Simon and kiss him 😭 I'm sure he's going to start a revolution in the next season
I adore you and your reactions. I’m not sure if your age but I see so much maturity in your opinions and the way you look at life. I think that’s why I enjoy your reactions so much. Enjoyed going with you on this journey and can’t wait for the next season.
Outstanding reaction 👏👏. Your thoughts/feelings/emotions mirrored mine exactly. Yours was such a visceral reaction to this episode and so well articulated, too.. I’ve watched several reaction videos to the series, and yours was top of the line. Very well done and thanks for taking the time to make these and share these. Hopefully we’ll be seeing you again on Season 2.
I really dislike August for posting the video and the Queen for knowing and that she cares more about keeping up the repputation and maintaining the name and legacy than she cares about her son. Yeah Saras behavior was not good and her way to try to fit in, but she shouldn't change the way she is. Understandable that Simon didn't want to be Wilhelms secret. I loved that Wilhelm told Simon he loves him, and the way he looked into the camera at the end reminded me of the first episode, and it was kinda like he was saying, that there are more drama to come.
I agree, but being from America the actress who play the Queen is phenomenal. Every scene with perfectly displays her force of personality; and it works on everyone except at the end on the phone with Wilhelm where she has pushed to far. The casting in this show is unbelievably amazing.
ok is it just me or is the most annoying thing about this show the fact that you want to kill august the entire time but then like malte is actually such a sweetheart and its soooo conflicting
@@basicsimp8798 yeah, but i get it, though. sometimes actors are so good at playing assholes they almost make you forget they're a sweetheart in real life. like as a recent example, ben, in hearstopper, i have to remind myself sebastian croft is actually a sweetheart and is also the captain of the ben hope hate club, and hates his character as much or even more as the audience does. i think it's just confusing sometimes for the brain to differentiate that they share the same face but not the same personality, lmao.
You are so interesting to watch in that you are so emotionally invested! "Oh my boys!" This series captures the heart so easily. I enjoy your commentary so much in that it says much about you as a person. People who love this have enormous hearts!
i feel like the queen had her own love story that she had to give up because of the crown, just the vibe i got from her speech. i wonder if that will be explored more during season 2
Wilhelm is only 16, he hasn't labled himself and Simon seems to be his first love and they only met very recently, and his brother just died making him the next king. If he was 25 and already sure that a guy was the love of his life, the decision would be clear and easy to make. But he barely had any time to even explore his own feelings before everything came crashing down...
I don't agree with many reactor's portrayal of Wilhelm's mom (maybe because I'm a Mom and closer to thier age than to the other characters). While I want Wilhem to live his life the way he wants to and love who he wants to, his Mom's whole life has been around learning her responsibility to/as the monarchy. I wish someone would do an interview with the actress that plays her and how she sees the relationship, or the writer's perspective. I don't think it's as easy or straighforward as many portray it and that is what makes the series so interesting.
You know his mom was working him the whole way home. Drilling it into him until the moment of the interview. So I think it was more than 1 conversation. But yeah, Wille is somewhat easily influenced.
I just want to say thank you to all the people who are involved in this project, from the director, writer like everyone. All the actors did an amazing job. I never thought that i needed this, that this will be my sweet escape from all what is happening around me Im so invested in this series and im hoping that we get more season 🙏❤💙💚💛💜💓 love you besties 😊
First of all thank for 6 amazing reactions! I’ve loved watching every single one of them and hearing your thoughts and opinions. After rewatching the series I think the reason Wille suddenly caved and gave the statement saying it wasn’t him is that he freaked out when his mom stressed how much more media coverage he would have to face if he didn’t deny it. We’ve seen Wille dealing with anxiety and panic attacks throughout the show and how uncomfortable he is with being in the spotlight. So when his mom told him that the media coverage and spotlight he has experienced so far is incomparable with what he’ll face if he comes out I think his anxiety kicked in and prevented him from following through on his plan. Imagine sacrificing love because a sense of duty to your family only for them (his mom and August) to betray you…The way he stared into the camera at the end, when Revolution was playing, makes me feel like he’s angry and upset enough to face his fears and anxiety to fuck some shit up
I also really liked how honest and real those characters are. E.g. when Simon says "I am trying to be your friend again because I need you". I feel like those are the little "egoistic" moments everyone has but are rarely portrayed in movies/series
In a way, I like how it also doesn’t frame it as “Simon wants to help/protect Sara like always”, he gives her the chance to help him for once (which seems to be something she wants - someone who doesn’t make her feel like a burden, and makes her feel needed and useful). That also leads into another interesting thing to me, which is the fact that Simon is *constantly* burdening himself to help or protect Sara (eg: moving to Hillerska, selling the alcohol/drugs (alcohol to get her to the party and drugs to keep August away from her (although there was definitely an underlying, selfish, motive), etc.) yet the one time he asks her for help *she’s not there.*
I love the Show, everything is on point. It's very difficult for me to find a new Show, with such a great Storyline, Pureness and incredible Acting. One of my favorite Series I ever saw so far. I loved your reaction, it was very emotional, and directly from your Heart, so thank you for this. Hopefully we will get Season 2 very soon ❤️
I think he's gonna end the monarchy... that's what the look means at the end. he looks at the camera exactly when the song says Revolution. he made the statement because he thought his family actually supports him like his mother, cousin etc. but as soon as he made it he was left all alone again like you noticed when he packed etc. he doesn't even feel erik's support anymore because he was the one that told him to trust august. he lost all his family to the monarchy and its so called legacy and now simon too. and we know how far he's willing to go just to keep him. he's angry af. he's gonna make sure no one is ever gonna hear the words "being a prince is a privilege not a punishment." ever again
Honestly thank you for making these. I'm not super close with people who like this stuff or have the time to watch a show with me. So it feels like I'm hanging out with my friend watching a cute show... so thanks ~
Such a good show and reaction. What i like about this show is 'healthy communication'. in other shows maybe all these situations could end badly for the main character, but Young Royals still maintain communication so everything is very touching. See u in season 2 reaction❤
right?? i've seen so many reactors not understand why wilhelm did what he did. ig a lot of people simply don't understand how monarchies operate and how much pressure they put on the royals.
Also do you think you'd consider reacting to interviews with Edvin and Omar or even cute moments? (I can totally link the ones I'm thinking about if you need) They did this thing where Omar sang with the choir of Hillerska in public in the center of Stockolm I believe, and both Edvin and the amazing women behind the show went to support him and it was absolutely adorable!
In the end of this episode he stares at the camera in the revolution part of the music I think that in season 2 ( if we have season 2) it’s going to be Wilhelm taking revenge on everything I hope so because I want to see some angst
I just want to say that I think a part of why wille didn’t come out was because he really wasn’t ready, he has anxiety and he has no privacy but with Simon he didn’t have to be the prince just him, if he had come out Simon would’ve been a “prince thing” to and all the eyes from all over the world wasn’t something that any of them wanted so I see why he did it
So sad it's over 😭. I've really enjoyed this! About the ending, I think something changed for Wilhelm after the conversation with his mother, like, I don't give a fuck anymore! The fact that he did and said what he did in front of everyone and the way he looked in car together with that song gives me hope 💕
I feel so bad for Simon, he is ambitious and wants to make a life out of where he from. But now it seems he doesnt have much to carry on. His needs to pay for his grades, but he doesnt have that money without dealing. he sings well, but if he would ever be a singer, then the more famous he got the more viral the sex video would go. It’s anxious I just want him to be happy and all.
Love this series. I really hope they do a second season. I would love to see where it goes from here. I feel like after a little while he’s gonna get annoyed with it all and just tell everyone about him and Simon. Love your videos!! 🙂
I completely read the Queen's reaction differently than you. When she replied to Wilhelm asking why he couldn't just not say anything and have a normal life with "You're the crown prince", I didn't think she was worrying about his legacy. I saw that as her saying that he will never have a normal life. It doesn't matter what he does, he will never have a normal life and anything that people perceive as a mistake on his part will come with a lot of backlash. She was basically saying what Wilhelm said later on--if he comes out, it will come with a huge amount of publicity and criticism and pressure on him. It doesn't mean that he shouldn't, just that he needs to understand the consequences of it. Also, yeah Sara did kinda throw Simon under the bus, but he did that to her as well by meeting with their dad and not telling her. He's not innocent at all here, and I think it's important to recognize that.
To me I got no vibe that she was concerned for Wilhelm in regards of bad publicity/criticism, to me it read as her being concerned as to how that would affect the monarchy as a whole and I still agree with that (but obvs that's just my opinion). When it comes to Sara and Simon, I agree that he should have told her, but him having a relationship with their dad is really none of her business. Yes they are siblings and he did them wrong, but he can have whatever relationship he wants with his dad without Sara being involved. What she did however was blatantly betray him by keeping this information a secret and trying to use it to blackmail her way into the school which is very fucked up.
People writing more in the comments than I ever have for school. And I dont blame them, I did the same thing and still do about this show. It's so beautifully sad.
It would be interesting if you'd accept to talk about the main theme of the series. I don't talk about the romance which is the obvious second theme, the obstacle being Wilhem royal duties. I am talking about the first theme she had in mind writing the scenario: the "Inheritance Weight". It was even supposed to be the title before it became Young Royals. The pressure, and weight of what your family brings, whatever your social class is. I think it is depicted in a very subtle way, and I hope she dares to dig into it for the second season even more, even if fans are mainly interested in the romance of course (what I get too, what a chemistry between these two persons). So what do you think about the "Inheritance Weight" subject treated in the series? -Simon with his non-existent dad, his "special" sister to take care of, his lack of money for his ambitions.... -Or Wilhem with the crown duties, his mother coldness, his brother death, August class pressure on him, his lack of freedom.... -Or August with a suicidal father, an indifferent mother, and the pressure to be on the top all the time (crushing everyone if needed) -Or Felice with all the perfection expectation, the royal wedding pressure, the being thin pressure, and royal activities (horses, st lucia...)
i believe that the reason that they added Wilhelm looking straight at the camera is because when characters break the fourth wall, it makes you uncomfortable and like you're being watched, and no one likes being watched, but that's what happened to him, he was watched every second of his life which means he can't even function like a normal teenager. and the last time he broke the fourth wall it is trying to make you feel guilty, guilty that you watched him through this, like you watched him cry and find out his sexuality and you watched him get drunk and have a breakdown, you even watched him have sex. It really makes you feel guilty that you watched him go through this. And the fact that whenever a character does break the fourth wall it's probably for a reason or to bring this message across to the viewer. i hope im not looking too much into this but yeah
wille didn't lie to him. He said he would make his mother understand, and she didn't. We all knew they will force him to make the statement. So unless he breaks up with his family there was no other way sadely.
u can see they still in love with each other and the song is so pain for its hurts i love how Wilhelm said to simon i love you and hug him because he still love him and simon love him too and i love when wilham look into the camera and that look means its going to be a new revolution and u can see how they look at each other they are so much in pain and i feel sorry for both of them they dont need this they meant to be together.

The look at the end say, "I'm going to burn and shrink this damn boat mom, just watch me." Like dude realized he can't trust his own family and that he doesn't owns them anything.
yeah, Sara really let me down in this episode. Wilhelm finding out he was betrayed by August and then his mother knowing all along is tough, and then Simon breaking up with him on top of that. Wilhelm must feel so alone now. i would’ve done the same thing if i were Simon tho, i’m not about that secret lover life. it seems like that hug and breaking the 4th wall in the end is a sign of Wilhelm defying the monarchy in the second season so at least i’m hopeful. i’ve really enjoyed your reaction to the show.
So uh, I heard this from someone else, but did you recognize he looked at the camera when the song said "Revaluation". This may and hopefully will be a clue for season two.
Hi! Love the reacts, just binged through young royals and I can`t wait for season 2 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Btw is there anyway you can turn this list around? So it is easier to binge from episode 1-6 instead of the other way around 😅🤔 Love this, and love you ❤️
I would just like to say that your thumbnail fooled me😩 I stopped watching the show because I was nervous about what was gonna happen after the video recording and then I saw your thumbnail and I’m like oh it’s gonna be okay :) and then I started watching it and now I am destroyed 😌
i honestly dont like sara, i understand that she has issues to deal with but how she choose august over her own brother ,the betrayal is real. family is the priority especially when she has a supportive family, simon was always there making sure to tell her that he stand with her and that he love her but all that time she never said a thing. how does she choose august when she barely know him and do her brother dirty like that. the queen obviously lived a miserable life and trying to apply the same thing to wilhelm, saying that love is not something important and that he should be grateful and that its a blessing. i feel bad for wilhelm he doesnt have supportive friends like simon he only had erik but erik is gone, he had no one to help him or advice him and its awful to be surrounded by snakes ,no wonder he have anxiety..having people's attention always on you, everything you do become viral and news, having a cold and unsupportive family and how you cant have privacy, its terrible. when erik dead we see him hugging a worker there and it looks like that all he needed but it doesnt look like he got any love from his mother
I love that the statement included a line saying that "Everyone should be free to be gay or straight" etc. because it shows how full of shit the Queen is. She knows that her people and her government support LGBT rights strongly enough to force her to pay lip service, and yet she thinks the royal house is somehow above the law in matters of social policy. If the monarchy is supposed to be a role model for society (which is how they justify their existence), then it should be a model of LGBT acceptance too, not an exception.
I feel so bad for Simon but I completely understand why Wille denied it. He has so much pressure to fulfil the duties of crown prince. There's the whole issue of succession, of the fact that he's one day going to be king. And his brother literally just died. The royal family already had a lot of press on them. And Wille was already going through so much and so many changes that it is a lot to ask him to admit it is him in the video. But it's all so sad and annoying and I just want them to be happy and free and in love. 💜💜😭😭😭
Loved your reactions! I see you've reacted to SKAM France but did you ever watch the original show? (If you haven't maybe you could do a series on that one.)
I liked Young Royals but the series finale was depressing. Wilhelm chose family and obligation over his own happiness. It would have been beautiful if he pulled a Prince Harry and chose love over position. Oh well, monarchy. Praise to Simon for having a spine and some self respect. Season 2 should become available soon. Looking forward to it (but not as much as season 2 of Heartstopper).
Sara has Asberger´s and it feels like that affects the way she deals with things. As a Swede, I do understand that it would be difficult in this stage for Wilhelm to tell the world he is gay/bi or whatever as he needs to deal with being the crown prince first. If there will be a season 2, it would be really strange if Wilhelm would not be able to come out as he is. He is dependent though on his parents at this stage aswell and he is very lost right now and he needs to process everything and that takes time and find people to talk to. I don´t think that Simon is the right future boyfriend for Wilhelm as things have turned out right now.
Worst potential outcome: they find out its been August and it changes absolutely nothing. Well, despite the fact that Wilhem knows his Mom only cares about the crown, not him
I feel like it might actually change something if Simon finds out it was Wilhelm's cousin and that his sister knew. Cause then he'd know that without Erik Wilhelm can't trust anyone in his family anymore to be on his side but also Simon's own sister wasn't really on his side...
@@gerganakantcheva8176 I think Simon's sister did it partly because he lied to her about their dad. She felt like she can't trust him anymore, breaking their no lies pakt twice, and figured she could just go what's best for her too. But she didn't look so happy about it in the end
@@82evene and also she has been told "you need not to say everything" I think she feels guilty for betraying his brother but also hiding the truth because she think Simon might not find it out so she would be good
Good reading of Sara in this episode. One thing that annoys me about her is that she tells Simon he lets everybody piss on him, but then expects Simon and her mother to do everything on her terms. She wants him to stop seeing their father, because she doesn't want to see him and expects Simon to dance to her little tune at all times, so she isn't even consistent in what she's saying. One rule for her and another rule for others. I didn't like Sara much from the beginning, and Ep6 hasn't changed that tbh.
Im always so confused why everyone i saying he should turn around at the end, what do you want him to do? Simon doesn’t want him, he’ll just embarrass himself
For anyone who thinks it's is easy for a royal to against the grain look at Prince Harry and everything he went through and he isn't even the crowned prince his father is. Wilhelm didn't have a choice he goes against the crown they send to a school in another country if they want and he has no say because he's a kid he lies and he gets to stay where Simon is. It's sad because Simon believes it's just simple for Simon to tell the truth but he has no idea what that fallout looks like and it's pretty selfish of him not see Wilhelm's side in all this not that Wilhelm does much better but for Simon it's a highschool scandal and for Wilhelm it's an international one
I also don't think Simon actually realizes how much easier it got for him when Wilhelm denied it's him in the video, cause it immediately took all the media intrest away from Simon, while Wilhelm can never not be the focus of international media intrest. And Simon was already annoyed about that one reporter and one article...
Sara was the biggest disappointment I ever had. How she could do such a low thing against her own brother? That's outrageous. And August I don't see a way where he can redeem himself honestly.
I fucking LOATHE August. I've lost all respect for Sara. As someone who has spent the majority of their life living in poverty, I definitely see the privileges of being royalty, but it also legit seems like a punishment to me.
It might be one of those situations where he’s “scared straight” and now will no longer try to pursue any male and instead just try to live as expected
I went away and watched some other YR reaction vids and you’ve ruined me for all other creators. Let’s do a rewatch where you watch it with the English dubbing (so you can hear Edvin and Omar in English) and we can watch you react to anything you may have missed the first time 😍
Is it possible that August also tried to disqualify Wilhelm from the throne? If I understand correctly August is the next in line to the throne of Sweden.
No … i don’t think so … his line must have been cut from the royalty’s a couple of generations back, when one royal born married a commoner, even if she (prob a she) was noble born … but queen Kristina is first cousin to one of the parents of August, probably the dad, and their fathers were brothers. The one that married out of royalty lost his place in the succession. His grandchildren can never make claims to the throne.
@@mattallen369 The royal family order and tradition just hurt my brain. 😅 Anyway I wish you were right. I’d hate to see August getting anywhere near the throne. If he was such a snobbish asshole as a distant cousin, who knows what he’d be as a crown prince.
@@timothymcclaire3276 Yes i think you are right, August actually says his manor “Arnäs” has been inherited on his fathers side for hundreds of years, right? So that leaves us his mom, Louise. One of her parents must have been a sibling to Kristina’s dad, the late king, and in their marriage (with a commoner) the parent lost their royal status. I guess. 🙂 so … August is too far from the actual royal line to ever become prince or king. 😅
Damn, i feel so bad for Wilhelm. He tried to do "the right thing" and got screwed over so bad. The queen talked him into denying the video though she had no intention of punishing August.
While my heart breaks for Simon, at least he has a supportive mom and great friends. Wilhelm has no one on his side and it makes me want to cry.
you made me cry with that last line noooo
exactly, especially since erik’s death, he NEEDS simon. i can’t wait for s2, ughhhh
We will all be there for Wilhelm! We will line up and give him a hug then after that start the revolution! 🔥 😂
Felice is a friend at least.
Nicely put and from my perspective an accurate deduction.
My takes on a few points you brought up:
🔸on August's reasons: Wilhelm exposing his financial situation to everyone at the Society was one of the reasons, but it was basically just the last straw for him that pushed him over the edge, his real reason was envy (and therefore resentment towards the person that has what August wants). It's a case of "you're so ungrateful to have this thing that so many people, including myself, would love to have but can't."
🔸on Wilhelm being easily persuaded to change his mind: I think a lot of his decisions after Erik's death have been influenced by said death.
She definitely had her reasons and I can see why she did it, but that doesn't excuse betraying her brother the way she did for me. Really let me down.
@@TheCrazyFreak it's part of what I like about the show. How every character is so complex and human and humans do screw up, in particular when hurt
I love the end scene where willhem looks at the screen like He's telling us it's defenitely not over yet and he Will fight back!❤️
When Wilhelm hugged Simon and said "I love you" .... made me ugly sob for ages. What a painful moment.
Love the communication in that show!
i love wilhelm so much, i just want to give the poor boy a hug
his situation is just so fucked up. it breaks my heart. after erik died he really felt like he had no one other than simon. and it got even sadder because when he came back to school after erik i think he started to feel like he had august too, with the video too. when the video came out he felt like his mother actually cared and was really trying to do what was best for his life (i think he caved because she brought up the attention and pressure and how much he hates it as is). and then both of them betray him. wilhelm realized during that phone call that his mother doesn’t actually care about him. sure she loves him but she chose to protect august over her son and that’s not fair to wille. you can feel the emotion building in the final scene when they say goodbye. wilhelm realizes he denied the video and lost simon for a monarchy that doesn’t give a shit about him or his feelings. i feel like in return, he’s not going to give a shit about the monarchy.
maybe i’m hoping for too much but when he looks into the camera you can feel the anger radiating off of him. and they made it so it said ‘revolution’ right when he broke the 4th wall. i don’t think he’s gonna do anything super crazy in season 2 but i feel like he’s done protecting the monarchy because they refused to protect him when he needed it.
also i hope we get to see some development with wilhelm’s clear anxiety issues in season 2. shits about the hit the fan and i’m curious with how he’s going to cope with it. edvin is INCREDIBLE and i think he’d do a great job showing wilhelm’s management of his panic attacks in the future
overall i think the ending is the absolute best we could’ve gotten because it actually sets up so much for season 2. if it ended happily no one would be so on edge wanting to know what’s going to happen, better chances for a renewal!!
Thank you for the clarification
is it tho? to me she's still an uncaring hag
27:17 yessss, Edvin did a greaaaat job! I felt those emotions
Edvin (actor who plays Wille) said in one of his interviews that in the last scene when he was walking towards the car all Wille wanted to do is run back to Simon and kiss him 😭 I'm sure he's going to start a revolution in the next season
How beautiful it is 😭😭
I adore you and your reactions.
The casting in this show is unbelievably amazing.
ok is it just me or is the most annoying thing about this show the fact that you want to kill august the entire time but then like malte is actually such a sweetheart and its soooo conflicting
hate the character not the actor....and also he never said anything bad about malte just about august
Why would you hate the actor himself? You know they're just acting right?
@@basicsimp8798 yeah, but i get it, though. sometimes actors are so good at playing assholes they almost make you forget they're a sweetheart in real life. like as a recent example, ben, in hearstopper, i have to remind myself sebastian croft is actually a sweetheart and is also the captain of the ben hope hate club, and hates his character as much or even more as the audience does. i think it's just confusing sometimes for the brain to differentiate that they share the same face but not the same personality, lmao.
I'm not really thinking about the actor when I'm watching, I'm thinking about the story and the characters- so no, it's not that conflicting to me.
Season 2 - November 2022🔥🔥🔥
Such a brilliant show it is
help i cannot with this ending-
also yall cant tell me we all didnt go from thinking felice was gonna be a bitch to loving her lol
He needs time obv.
I have loved your reaction to young royals! I will be back to watch your reaction when season two comes out!
Finally a reactor who understands; monarchy sucks!
right?? i've seen so many reactors not understand why wilhelm did what he did. ig a lot of people simply don't understand how monarchies operate and how much pressure they put on the royals.
YESSSSSS I FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YEARS FOR THIS REACTION!!!!!!! I love hearing your thoughts and opinions on this series ❤️
Bruh I love how he called the royal family an 'instatution' because that it basically is at this point
The fact that you predicted season 2 in the last 5 min is mindblowing.
We need season 2! Love your reactions to this show!!
-Or August with a suicidal father, an indifferent mother, and the pressure to be on the top all the time (crushing everyone if needed)
-Or Felice with all the perfection expectation, the royal wedding pressure, the being thin pressure, and royal activities (horses, st lucia...)
i believe that the reason that they added Wilhelm looking straight at the camera is because when characters break the fourth wall, it makes you uncomfortable and like you're being watched, and no one likes being watched, but that's what happened to him, he was watched every second of his life which means he can't even function like a normal teenager. and the last time he broke the fourth wall it is trying to make you feel guilty, guilty that you watched him through this, like you watched him cry and find out his sexuality and you watched him get drunk and have a breakdown, you even watched him have sex. It really makes you feel guilty that you watched him go through this. And the fact that whenever a character does break the fourth wall it's probably for a reason or to bring this message across to the viewer. i hope im not looking too much into this but yeah
When Wille was in the car with his mom I was telling Wille “Don’t listen to her.” When he was walking to the car and was also saying “Turn around!”
They start a revulotion so i think they comming out in public in S2 this is Wilhelms first step when he gives Simon a hug in front of the people.
finally! I've literally been waiting for this!
i’m sad your reactions are over, i hope i can come back for season 2 with you and it’s not another jatp situation
Same here, If we get no word for months ima be angry
wille didn't lie to him.

I love this show! Great acting and writing
The look at the end say, "I'm going to burn and shrink this damn boat mom, just watch me." Like dude realized he can't trust his own family and that he doesn't owns them anything.
CHANGE THE SYSTEM!! WOHOOO!!! Right on! 💪✌️❤️
Also, thank you so much for your reactions, thrilled that you loved it!
yeah, Sara really let me down in this episode.
Sua reação na hora q o August aparece é igual a minha reação 😂😂😂
I'm hoping that look to the camera is sort of a "time to fuck shit up" look.
19:20 i have not thought about this tho! Good point
I would also like to say I just saw the writing in the corner lol😞
not you predicting the entirety of season 2 🤣they did it really well imo tho :'))
I cry everytime I watch the last episode gosh
i honestly dont like sara, i understand that she has issues to deal with but how she choose august over her own brother ,the betrayal is real. family is the priority especially when she has a supportive family, simon was always there making sure to tell her that he stand with her and that he love her but all that time she never said a thing. how does she choose august when she barely know him and do her brother dirty like that.
the queen obviously lived a miserable life and trying to apply the same thing to wilhelm, saying that love is not something important and that he should be grateful and that its a blessing. i feel bad for wilhelm he doesnt have supportive friends like simon he only had erik but erik is gone, he had no one to help him or advice him and its awful to be surrounded by snakes ,no wonder he have anxiety..having people's attention always on you, everything you do become viral and news, having a cold and unsupportive family and how you cant have privacy, its terrible. when erik dead we see him hugging a worker there and it looks like that all he needed but it doesnt look like he got any love from his mother
I really hope they do a second season!!
Now looking forward to more of Skam France.
"I have faith in my girl"
Yeah... about that....
pov: you are looking in the newest first filter
*episode ends* Dying whale noise. Same. Same hahahaha. 😅
Loved your reactions! I see you've reacted to SKAM France but did you ever watch the original show? (If you haven't maybe you could do a series on that one.)
I have seen all but the last season of OG and am debating doing it before I do SKAM France S4 but not sure yet!
Ich weine immer wenn ich die serie sehe ,du weist einfach Nie wie machst du das !!!
Felice liked Sara for her.
There will be a season 2! :)
there's season2!
Me watching your intro: ohhhhhh nooooooooooooooo 😬😬😬😬😬
And Simon was already annoyed about that one reporter and one article...
i want to step on august he pissed me off so much i wish him nothing but the worst for season 2
Sara was the biggest disappointment I ever had. How she could do such a low thing against her own brother? That's outrageous. And August I don't see a way where he can redeem himself honestly.
Hi.. Please watch Derry Girls on Netflix..
I fucking LOATHE August. I've lost all respect for Sara. As someone who has spent the majority of their life living in poverty, I definitely see the privileges of being royalty, but it also legit seems like a punishment to me.
t's stupid four him to stay in the closet because haw many times can you cover it up there will always be another guy and he will git cot again
It might be one of those situations where he’s “scared straight” and now will no longer try to pursue any male and instead just try to live as expected
I never liked sara especially when she told on felice about her riding the horse obviously she doesn’t think before she does things
Anyway I wish you were right. I’d hate to see August getting anywhere near the throne. If he was such a snobbish asshole as a distant cousin, who knows what he’d be as a crown prince.
@@mattallen369 The Queen and August's mother are the ones who are first cousins, which makes August and the Queen first cousins once removed.
@@mattallen369 Exactly! He said at the lunch Arnas had been in his father's family since 1768. He's too far from the line of succession.
sara :/
