I've been a Kraftwerk fan and collector since 1975 when I first heard Autobahn on a flight to D.C.. Never got to see them "live" till 2005 on this tour at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. It was worth the wait!
Organisation was the original name for them. The group consisted of two members. A flutist and a violinist. Bartos and Flur joined the group just before the Computer World Album. I am a big big fan of these guys, and have been since the first Kraftwerk album. The is my third favorite song from them. my Second is Trans Europe Express, and my first is Tour De France the radio Edit. They were indeed ahead of thier time.
when I was 17, a classmate of mine introduced Kraftwerk's music to me. Once in a while, I would turned on my stereo with Kraftwerk so loud that the walls of my apartment actually vibrated. They are the pioneer of electronic syn-pop music.
I love the transition from Numbers to Computer World! Happens so quickly- the band-members really have to be on their toes to catch it! Thanks for uploading!
⚠REMEMBER⚠...when this song was written and produced,💻 computers were not mainstream. Kraftwerk was in a sense, warning the people in their music, that computers were going to take over and run every aspect of your life.Your cars, your house, you obviously have a computer and smartphone in your home. This song is 50 years old.Welcome to your future in 1970 in the year 2020.
These guys were in The Matrix, before there was a Matrix....... For Real! The-very-first-Kraftwerk-song-I-ever-heard-and-enjoyed(even before, "Tour De France/Breakin'"). NEVER forget the innovators.... And thank God for big sisters, because it was her 45 record, that hooked me: Numbers=Side One/Comptuer World=Side Two! OLD......SCHOOL!
Holy Shit, I have chills going up my arm! I haven't heard this song in over..what?.. 25 years?!! Thanks Rdecaserio!! You Are da MAN!!! This version is okay but not what we heard in Bensonhurst all those years ago. I guess they only played part of this song years ago. They never played this full version. I will check around, now that I know name of song & artist (thanks to you!). Maybe the version I remember will be here.If not, no biggie. Just hearing this is awesome! Rd take a bow!
I will agree with Rellim. I know they're just standing there, BUT their music is beyond Genius, ahead of it's time. So I give them mad respect for what they did and I'm so glad they still doing the damn thang today =)
I remember one time when I went to the Dallas Museum of Art and there was an exhibit on the floor. Someone from Japan made it to express technology. It was called "Counter Ground" because it was a concrete slab with bunches of digital counters from 1-9 all over and counting at different speeds. that reminded me of this.
they are THE GODS of TECHNO...i rememeber buying this with my luch money and thats all i had... lol lolol i wish america would recognize them for what they started....
Thank you, that would be called a vocoder. All I'm saying is that this is where Autotune comes from. Roger Troutman from Zapp was using it in his music in the 70's. This was my favorite song at 11 you know when vinyl was all we had...oh yeah and a few 8 tracks.
its the evolution of breakbeats where it pretty much began, very very influential, very way ahead of its time song was made way before the 80s where there wasnt much electro/breakbeat music
Behold viewer. For this is the actual electronic music cradle. You are, from this moment on, enlightened, and with this wisdom and understanding, enabling you to clarify the perception of electronic music, you shall spread this music with the truth : There is no other before Kraftwerk. I will be seeing you to the concert in Denmark, in the city Randers in august 2009.
What amazes me, and I think only zapjaste, (4 months ago) get it, these guys were doing this in the 70's-early 80's. Before the Macintosh, before the Internet, before hip-hop, etc., there was Kraftwerk. I have a tape where the Fresh Prince (Will Smith) is having another guy beat box "Numbers". Kraftwerk is the true original. That's like someone today doing music that become the de facto standard 20-30 years from now.
PEOPLE DONT UNDERSTAND HOW INNOVATIVE AND SOOOOOOO FAR PAST THEIR TIME THIS GROUP WAS.. HUGE GENIUSES!!!
STILL A CLASSIC, WILL NEVER BE TOUCHED IN HISTORY!!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍✌✌✌✌✌✌✌
+Carlo Hines !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WILL NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Greatest Live show I have ever seen, saw them Live in Melbourne, I cried, lol. Wunderbar.
true Kraftwerk genius, taking everyday things that everyone knows but don't think about too much, and make art out of it
I've been a Kraftwerk fan and collector since 1975 when I first heard Autobahn on a flight to D.C.. Never got to see them "live" till 2005 on this tour at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. It was worth the wait!

There is clearly a dimension of awesome beyond my comprehension. I've just stumbled on it.
This all I needed to learn my numbers as a child back in the day... :-))

I love the transition from Numbers to Computer World! Happens so quickly- the band-members really have to be on their toes to catch it! Thanks for uploading!

Yeah, Scotland Yard's full of them. I used to work there and they were really easy to spot, what with the red horns and tails and everything.
omfg... This is so amazing!
this is the BEST song I like from Kraftwerk
Kraftwerk - Numbers is the template of Electro music. 100% classic...
wish i could see kraftwerk live someday
...and this means that kraftwerk is the root of many electronical music styles today
just so damn funky - must be hard to keep up the total stasis image sometimes !
