I just choose my color by whatever color I'm feeling in the moment when I'm doing my manicure. Sometimes I will choose my color based on what color I haven't used in awhile. I tend to gravitate towards blue, purple, and green nail polishes, so sometimes I try to choose a different color to switch up my manicure.
Your whole energy and vibe is so calming & nice. I always watch your videos even when I don't care about the products. 😁 Hope you're having an amazing day!
@@nhillborn2 I know this is super late, but you start with a fairly translucent nail polish (a jelly polish), paint one coat, then do a coat of the glitter on top and then another coat of the jelly polish on top of that. You can even repeat the process with another coat of glitter and another coat of jelly for even more depth. It creates a really cool effect!
My newest polish arrivals usually end up sitting on my desk or the top of my helmer so when I want to try one of my new polishes that's what I go to. I have all my polishes saved on Snupps by colour or type (topper, stamping, thermal, magnetic, red, blue, etc) so I can pick by that. I also started making spinner wheels in an app by the same organization as my snupps shelves, so if I don't know what to wear I can go and spin a wheel to pick which shelf and then spin the wheel for that shelf to pick my polish. I also recently swatched my whole collection on swatch sticks so I can browse them in person, as I find the swatch photos are great but not the same as seeing them in person and the physical swatches are great for a quick skim to remind me of all the gorgeous polishes I have.
Can you do a video on your favorite top coats? I know it’s something most people don’t care about but that and base coats are the most important to me 😭 always have trouble finding a good top coat!
These are all really pretty and I like that you are all about the grays and silvers during this part of the season. I like to expand into navy blues, wine reds, and eggplant purples.😄
Sally Hansen made glitter shakers as well. I had your initial reaction and I'm still not convinced lol but curious what you think of theirs if you've gotten them
Great video Kelli. I really love this series. It is great to recap on all the great releases. Zoya Barrett is an absolute favourite of mine! The entire Naturel 4 collection is stunning :)
I do my nails weekly and try to use my new polishes that I haven’t used yet. But what I do and wear ultimately is based on what main color I feel like that week. I always do nail art and I consider it a real win win if I use more than 2 new polishes in my manicure!
I actually got Gingerbread Man Can because of you and I have no regrets 😁🤗 I own +700 polishes, though I have nothing like it and it's so fun but interesting and I can imagine myself wearing it all seasons except in the summer 😊
Such a beautiful swathe of colours you've chosen 😍 it's not technically winter 2020 but I can't stop wearing Menchie the cat from Holo Taco over dark magenta or purple in wintertime 👌
I have been doing two different manicures on each hand. Lately I have been in to multi chromes. I usually look for color, finish and then topper. I love some unicorn skins from Holo taco. Sometimes I base my nails off of that.
09:40 you should check out (if you can still find it) Sinful Colors Naughty Nudes 2624 Body Language - it's a very warm near-red brown, with a minty green shimmer. I swatched it at the beginning of the month and it's very unique (that whole collection was unusual in a very cool way)
Thank you Kelli! I was not sure what colors to wear in January and February. Often, I'll choose from my most recent purchases (your fault!) but sometimes I use my color wheel list to choose opposite on the color wheel.
One of my favorite polishes to wear this winter has actually been Lily Munster from Superchic. It's a really pretty icy green/blue linear holo and just gives me icy glacier vibes. Also, I just got Dear Santa from ILNP and I love it so much! They're really killing it with the unique multichromes
i feel like i always gravitate towards toppers over just black or dark vampy teals / purples in winter. Its the time of the year where i do a big shop my topper stash. I dont even know why I usually choose my next mani by going through my swatch sticks and seeing what tickles my fancy. Which tends to be influenced by seasons. In winter i usually go through my toppers and then decide what i wanna put it over :)
Not sure how many favorites videos you already have mapped out but if you would be willing to do a favorite magnetic/cat eye polishes video that would be amazing
I don't know how many polishes I bought from winter lines specifically but some of the colors here are on my to buy list, like Red Room! I do love Gingerbread Man Can, one of the few OPI's I own!
My polishes are arranged in a rainbow, so color is pretty much always what I pick first if I'm just doing a plain mani with no nail art. If the polish I choose doesn't already have a sparkle to it, I'll usually add a sparkly top coat. :) In the past few months, I've gotten *really* into stamping. For that, I usually start by deciding what I want to stamp. Next is choosing which stamping polish(es) I want to use; I only have like 13 stamping polishes, so that part tends to be quick. Once I know what stamping polish and design I'm using, I need to figure out a base polish color that will make sense for the stamp and also let the stamping polish stand out nicely. Currently, I have dark blue polish with lighter blue kawaii snowflakes stamped on four of my main hand's nails and the accent nail is gray with brown and white mittens stamped. (That's in honor of the cozy grandpa Bernie memes, haha.)
Love Red Room! 🤩 I'm definitely going to pick that one up. I generally choose my polish based on what color I'm feeling and what I have to do that week. I know which brands last longer on me, so if I don't have time to redo a mani, I won't pick a polish that chips quickly.
You are bad for my wallet.. Every time you post a favorites video I want to have all the polishes... You way of showing them makes even the worst polish amazing! Thank you for being Amazing
Still loving your videos... only been subscribed 1 month and already purchased 8 polishes based on your videos 😂. I have a question: do have or can you make a video on your favorite toppers? I saw the video on the holo toppers but maybe other glitters or flakies. I’m working on my collection. Thanks 😊!
Here in Doha we do not get the actual yearly collections but older ones from previous years. So I cant say 2020 favorites but for the winter season Dusky Skies by Cirque colors is an absolute dream!
I just realized the only 2020/2021 winter collection I have is the Cirque Colors Candy Coat Collection. Right now I'm enjoying Glazed & Confused by KBShimmer underneath a white knitted stamping pattern. I was between that and Hotsy-Totsy by Different Dimension.
Loving these "favorites " videos! Thank you! I also have seasonal polishes that I wear and have noticed certain polishes for certain times of winter, spring, summer! Haha, just thought it was funny that you do the same, Or, did I learn this from you?!!!!🤣🤪👍💅
I know, I'm the same, and I love that Kelli does this, too. Some of these seasons feel sooo long (winter!!) -- like at the beginning of fall, I enjoy slightly darker, muted, or dusty shades; but by the end of fall, we're at Thanksgiving and it's so dark outside that I want to wear deep, dark shades. Those would feel just wrong somehow if worn earlier in the season.
Morgan Taylor Liquid Frost reminds me of Zoya's "Jett". I have Jett & like it because it's so different & I'm curious how close these 2 polishes are? You picked some really beautiful winter polishes! Thanks so much for the awesome video!!
I was wearing Slay Your Lines last week, I love that color, it is so pretty. Today I am wearing Holo Taco Got Cake on one hand and various Sinful Colors pinks with LA Colors glitters. I am not very inspired during this time of year.
Love those nail polishes. Too bad that in Slovenia we dont have Orly or ILPN brand. Will you have any winter nail art on your channel? :) I love Opi, Essie, Jessica, Zoya and Picture polish brands.
I love that pink one. Just beautiful! I usually choose the color first and then everything else later. This is way off topic, but have you heard of using alcohol to clean stamping plates? Do you know if it would ruin the plates?
Funny thing I totally relate with you about the winter months on Long Island makes ya want to wear darker colors but we moved to Florida recently and I’m lost I don’t know what colors I should be wearing lol 😂

Question: I change my polish weekly and when I wear dark nail polish it stains my nails even when I wear a base coat. Right now I wear OPI base coat. Last week I wore OPI Duomo days Isola nights....a pretty blue/gray. But after removing the polish my nails look like a smurf! What am I doing wrong?
Hmm I'm not personally a huge fan of the OPI base coat for that reason, I'd try a thicker one - maybe a ridge filling one or a stain prevention base? I've been loving Orly Bonder base but it's neither a ridge filler or stain prevention
Holo Taco Smoothing Base is a really good quality ridge filling base coat too. Not sure about stain prevention but my nails weren't red after my Christmas mani.
Hi Kelli🤗Do you know any dupe for China Glaze Release(a limited edition from The Givers)? It'a soft greyed purple with a hint of blue maybe. Such a nice fall or winter color!!!! I've been searching a dupe for it since many years.🤪
Neons especially with holo and irredescent flakes! I feel like winter colors apart from the holidays are usually in the darker ends of the spectrum, which by the way, I ❤️ but I feel like idk maybe it’s these neons against white snow or on a cloudy/rainy day, that I just feel pop and I’m all here for it. Anybody else digging this vibe lately?
I have most of these. Great video. I live your favorites videos but my wallet does not. One of my favorites from this year for winter is essie twinkle in time
I've yet to try Zoya but before watching your review of Olive & June, I did pick up Grateful & Kind. I'm terribly sorry to hear that they unfollowed you and caused a lot of drama, it is important for companies to take constructive criticism and not lash out.
Yeah definitely a little unprofessional of them! But thankfully there are lots of other brands out there for me to review haha. Hopefully you enjoy the polish you got though!
@@KelliMarissa There are and I do, the formula is easy for me to control because my hands sometimes shake and I have no control over that when they do shake. I wish OPI would go cruelty free. I see their collections and I'm so sad I can't buy from them. I've never had a bad Zoya polish though, Lidia is one of my favourites, perfect coverage in two coats on my short nails. I hope you enjoy the rest of your quad more.
I own over 200 Zoya polishes and I can count the ones I struggle with coverage-wise on one hand. Please don’t write them off just yet; they are fantastic.
So uh, sad story, I watched this late last night and went to order the China Glaze polish on-line. About 30min ago I got a notification that my tea would be delivered next week and I was like... Ughhhh what!!!??? I accidentally moved the polish to Save For Later 😭😭😭😭. Oh well, I'll just have to drink the gingerbread tea while I apply the polish 🤦♀️
Why am I watching this. Most of them won't be available in my country anyway 😂 Coming from a tropical country it's interesting to see that people choose nail polish color according to season. There's only dry and wet season here 😆

Why am I watching this. Most of them won't be available in my country anyway 😂 Coming from a tropical country it's interesting to see that people choose nail polish color according to season. There's only dry and wet season here 😆
Every time you upload a favourites video I end up adding more to my nail polish wish list. My nails thank you but my wallet does not! 🤣
