I’m only 16 but I’ve raised and grew up with racing birds ever since I could remember and all you can do with homers with an unknown pedigree or bloodline is just to fly them and see how good they can really do. I’ve had many birds that have been off crazy good bloodlines but babies could never keep up with my other stuff. It’s all on personal opinion. Keep up the content Jordan! Always enjoy your content
I'm crazy about pigeons too and that's great that you're buying them and saving them probably from Doom a lot of people wind up doing bad things to ones that they don't sell thank God that you're buying them. At the same time don't catch the wild ones leave the wild ones alone their troopers they figured out how to survive out there just let them be
They are a pacific breed the ones with the heavy feather on the feet are called muffs and the lightly feathered are feather foots. I used to raise rollers for competition. Looks like you have some potters too
Wow Jordan, you got some cool looking birds there and you got them for a great price congratulations! I can't wait to see what you're going to do with them. Thank you for sharing, peace out
The black one clean legged with the crest you showed at the end of the video looks like a Starling pigeon, I just bought 3 pairs of starling pigeons. 🕊
Awesome coloney. I have an Albino that showed up at my home and haven't left. The next day, a black, grey and white one was sittiing above my front door. He too have stayed. So now I have build a coop for them to live in. Many people are telling that this Albino is a rare bird. Hopefully i can breed it some day...
Great vid enjoyed watching it the ones with the feathers on legs we used to call them shim legged as they where a cross between a roller (or tumbler which is what we called them back here in england) and a muffie which is a tumbler with huge feathers all over legs and feet
I liked your video. You gotta separate the breeds. Just because they are mixed , doesn't mean it's a bad bird. It very well maybe one of your best flyers. When I was growing up back in the Bronx, New York. I had anywhere between 300 to 500 birds. I used to have the greatest fun, releasing 200 at a time off the rooftop. Just watching two hundred birds fly in circles and try to take off it's a wonderful sight to see. I will follow you and look forward to seeing more of your videos take care and wish you all the best.
There were a couple of pigeons that came to my barn. Fast forward a couple of years and there are 20-25 pigeons in my two big barns. They messed all over the hay in the lofts. We had a black tom cat that liked to sleep in the hay loft and would catch the young. One day all the pigeons left both barns. They were pretty birds but we were glad to see them leave.
The auction seemed interesting. My brother bred that kind of “golden pheasant” and reproduced, it’s special and valuable, but local regulation changed suddenly, no more owned privately, he donated all birds to zoo; foster lost a lot; so be careful to special kinds. Since 1800, white circle neck pheasant brought from Asia for hunting, reproduced a lot in US. Those light brown pigeons similar to Texas native, hybrid? not sure. Texas limits numbers of native pigeon hunted. Please keep farm well and help Bobby. Wish all your families & farms are fine, safe and best blessed.❤️
I wish I had them three my self from blakely ga pigeons to me is some kind. Of relaxing to see them fly I have about 100 hundred oz them my self but don't race them
@@tonyofton3785 My brother bred pigeons, just interesting, never race; especially few people do gambling in pigeons races, it’s illegal; even sometimes those people forced pigeons to do big burden training, it’s seemed inhuman, we don’t like these behaviors. Due to local regulations on animals getting stricter and stricter, my brother changed his mind to plant fruit trees.
Hi Jordan bro i do like yours pigeons collection, they're many different breeds, for example, high flyer, low flyer, rollers, tiplers, fency and dove so slowly slowly you learned about it.i, my self pigeons lovers and God 🙏 bless you my friend.
Wonderful! I think there were some Egyptian swift cross in a couple of the booted ones, a few look like royal sumthin pigeons from the middle east too! I’m just learning as well but those are hard to find in the states or atleast on the west coast.
I have pigeons nesting on my balcony they started last summer after they flew I cleaned and removed a lot of stuff and left a shelf they came back a few weeks ago and laid eggs lol.
Cool birds yangs ones if you want them to flying them in future build a cage out side to learn the area very well and then you going have more fun for the first fly around their flop and all best my friend
Hi Jordan .Great look round the Auction, You do like your Pigeons. You haven't yet bought a young billy for your nannies, or geese and ducks to replace your loss just lots of pigeons but we understand - they were cheap!!! Sorry short one tonight just about to watch your next vid on homers! Good wishes to you all Malc and Ann (England) UK xxx
I always quarantine any new birds for at least 5 to 7 days to keep an eye on them. One sick bird put in straight with your own kit could wipe out your whole loft from a disease, such as avian bird flu. So always best to quarantine, but its up to you
I raised pigeons when I was young. It was a popular hobby in my neighborhood. I had jacobins, trumpeters, Indian fan tails and other fancy ones along with different flyers.
I'm new to seeing your videos and this one has been up for a while. I hope you'll forgive an uneducated question. I love birds of all types and I'm just curious what people keep pigeons for? Pets? Thank you! The auctions seem like a lot of fun.
