  • My now favorite place in the whole world! I loved Guatemala so so much. I know I will be back here one day.
I was grateful to have eight days off to explore this beautiful country. I started in Antigua, walking around the cobblestone city, and relishing in the ancient ruins. Once Nicole landed, we headed straight to the lake.
Lake Atitlan is the deepest lake in all of Central America. It is absolutely breathtaking, and is surrounded by villages that all house a different attitude. We started at Eagle's Nest Hostel in San Marcos. This village is best known as the "yogi" town. It is a laid back community with a lot of yoga expats. We were able to try yoga at our hostel and I loved it!
Our next journey around the lake was a complete 180 form San Marcos. San Pedro is known as a party town, and we enjoyed this by staying in the biggest party hostel. We had cheap drinks, beer pong, and even a pub crawl. We traveled with some of our new Aussie pals for a sunrise hike at Indian Nose. We were even able to see a volcano erupt in the distance. On my last day we explored Panajachel, the biggest town on the lake. We spontaneously ended up doing an ATV tour. It was amazing even despite all the rain!
Guatemala, I will see you again!
    Thanks for watching :)

      Hello!
In Antigua I stayed in Casi Casa Hostel (3:48); San Marcos- Eagles Nest Hostel (10:44); Next to San Marcos- Casa Del Mundo(15;43); San Pedro- Mr. Mullets Hostel(20:00).
I would recommend every single stay! Although, if you like nicer hostels, and less of a party vibe, I would skip Mr. Mullets. There are other cute hostels in the area, and you can hangout at Mr. Mullets events if you would still like to be a part of the party scene :)
