  • Also keep in mind that there's a good amount of dealmaking on the litigation side too. Most cases (95%+) end up settling and not going to trial, so negotiation still takes place in litigation but it's more adversarial than transactional negotiation. I hope this video was helpful in giving you a broad overview to these areas of law and how they work ! Unfortunately, it's very tough to get insight into what lawyers actually do until you're in law school.

I’m currently studying for the LSAT and have been thinking about both Litigation and Transactional for a while. This has been the most helpful, well thought out video on this so far. Thanks Julian!

@@davidsalgado526LSATDemon has been phenomenal but is a lot more mentally draining than a textbook. You will improve much quicker though. Good luck!

I have practiced at both litigation and transactional law firms and agree with everything in this video. I also believe your law school and discussions with classmates can truly influence your decision on which one to practice... many classmates on law review going into litigation would comment that transactional attorneys are not real attorneys haha, but at least no one is ******* up my day...well maybe a partner is

Very funny in British commonwealth jurisdictions the feeling is same. Advocates think they’re a notch above conveyancers.

I am guessing AI will replace transactional lawyers before it replaces litigation lawyers (litigators).
    AI might *assist* litigators, though.

Weird question, but in transactional law, do you ever deal with interest? For example, negotiating interest rates etc.
