Moyun is always very humble. She is one of the best and most popular GuZheng performer right now. She is always providing surprises to her audience and fans. 🥳
I discovered her about a year ago, and ever since she is top on my list of music to listen on a daily basis. She introduced me to Chinese culture, I even started studying mandarin. I just love her so much. Greetings from Mexico.
I stumbled upon Moyun in a periodic youtube binge of instruments that are unknown (and amazing) to me. What gifts: her talent and what she gives to all of us who listen to and watch her music. Her videos give me great joy.
The fact that this god tier level musician doesn't even consider herself a professional is insane to me. She is so humble, hardworking, gentle, and kind. She'd be a great friend to anyone.
it would be cool to have a video about 阿聖 who plays the suona. I've listened to some of his covers and they are pretty cool. check out his cover of Bad guy, it rocks!
Great video, Moyun is such a gem and makes wonderful music. I thought it was a bit random to name drop li ziqi at the end without mentioning who she is lol
I love moyun her music is so beautiful! She is ferocious as a thunderstorm and as sublime as a butterfly landing on a delicate flower. Absolutely brilliant and beautiful! Thank you Moyun! Your music makes a better life for all who hear you play. Thank you again. Sincerely, Tony.
*Something to be proud of about Asians! a place that produces many genres of traditional ethnic musical instruments! a big thank you to the artists who made these instruments live over the years, kept it from being forgotten and let audiences like us enjoy it in such a wonderful way!*
The look of the musicàl instrument reminds me of the Mongolian Harp that is played the same way and is held across the lap it is constructed in the same way
Ugh Beiber's auto-tune is really bad. But luckily we have Moyun producing quality music. I feel in love with her music when she did Thunderstruck by AC/DC. It's spectacular.
This young woman puts on an air of humility. But I think her veil is a facade and is unbecoming of her gifts and talent. Having something like a veil to cover and hide her face is a crutch that she leans on and depends upon too much. And insodoing, she is depriving her viewers and fans the pleasure of seeing her emotions that connects her to her music. Facial expression is every bit a part of any musicians performance and playing. Facial expressions are the language of connection to music. What does the veil do exactly? Well, it hides her expressions and her emotions. She says that she does it because she doesn't feel like she is a professional and is not entitled to show her face. However, and given the fact that she is now a successful musician in the professional music genre, this is no longer true. She has mastered that ages old instrument and makes it play the way that she wants it to sound. That is a rare gift and a hallmark of a true musician. I should know... I am musically gifted. I could sing well until I had a stroke 20+ years ago. I play musical instruments. I grew up singing in a church choir, played in my high school band. I am self-taught in most music instruments I play. I am an inventor of music, not a composer in that I do not read nor write music. I took Music Appreciation in High School and studied the arts of music schools. I learned a little bit about music theory and composition. Most of what I learned about music, I learned on my own because I had a yearning and desire to know. I know and can tell when someone is just performing, and when someone is a true musician. True musicians connect to their music in ways that most of the rest of this world do not understand. Playing music has a way of connecting to the heart, soul and the spirit of someone who genuinely loves music. And insodoing, it whisks the player or performer away from this world, and they become unaware of the world and the goings on around them. It's like the world just vanishes and they are no longer in this corporeal world. I know... I've been there many times in my life. When I watched this video, I could see this woman's spirit leaving and losing its connection with this world. Her eyes became solely focused on her playing and experiencing the music, and if only for a brief few moments, she was not with us. That is what it means to be a true musician. This is something that most professional musicians understands intimately, but is something that professional performers are completely unaware exists. This next part is for this beautiful young musician: Young lady, whether you know it or not, whether you want to admit it or not, you are a professional "Guzheng player." And the world, your audience and your admirers and viewers deserves to see your face as you perform. As the professional musician that you are, you do not need the veil. It is a crutch. It is stifling you, it is interfering with your creativity and your musical spirit and energy. Free yourself and lose the mask. Be the professional that the world already sees and knows you to be... Thank you for this beautiful video. You are great, but you can be so much more. I see your drive for perfection, I see your distaste and dissatisfaction with your performances. These too, are attributes and are the very hallmarks that marks you as a true musician, which I know you are. Never lose that about you, and you will exceed greatness. You are already great... but you can rise above it if you choose. Being the selfish man that I am, I hope and pray that you will rise above the greatness you already have, because I know you can...
The mask suits the mysterious nature of the GuZheng. Also, I don't care if she wears a Giraffe on her head, it's the music that counts, and to focus on her dress sense is shallow.
So you make it all about you? Since she doesn't mirror you, you call her out on it? Lol. Her talent speaks loudly for her and I'll bet outshines anything you could accomplish. Let it go and enjoy her. You aren't her manager and never could be. You're "that guy"....
Chinese, not Japanese? Hate to tell her, but with masks and veils her expressions slip out through her music. I wanted to learn music, but my mom refused to teach me. She trained at Peabody and those SOB's told her she could only be a teacher. I found the step I could sneak on to hear her playing the piano and she cussed out loud like a sailor. Caught red handed, I suggested that mom was in tune with the writing of what she was trying to play. Never recorded in the musical notes.
Moyun is a gift of 5,000 years of history. Thank you, traditional China, for introducing countless beauty to this world 💖
She is Beautiful and very talented. I love hearing her play ❤

It's always nice to see younger people who are passionate about "traditional" genres of music.
millennia old chinese civilisation is still very much alive
She is very talented and the veil, along with the traditional clothing, gives her an air of elegance and mystery.
Her musical arrangements are awesome. I appreciate learning more about this wonderful artist. 👍

so mysterious. i kind of want to see her face.
She wears veil to defer to the gutsy real pros of the gutting. ❤
thats soooo cooL
When a girl can make Justin Bieber sound good, you know she is great
*Something to be proud of about Asians! a place that produces many genres of traditional ethnic musical instruments! a big thank you to the artists who made these instruments live over the years, kept it from being forgotten and let audiences like us enjoy it in such a wonderful way!*
Just found her for the first time tonight. Been watching many videos of hers tonight.
Just wonder, why does she cover her face?
It's explained in the interview. She felt that because she's not profesional/self taught and to somewhat "hide" her facial expression during play.
Chinese culture is talented, beautiful and modest not like western naked culture, love from Bangladesh
👍❗

guzheng had appeared formore than 2500 years

"...self-conscious..."? If you could master your consciousness as well as you pluck those strings...mhm.
Don't worry about it. That veil is ticklish.
she started the same way Goldthread started, eyeballs = $$$.
Oh no no, she's not called "pop princess" in China, but Guzheng "hierarch" to be more precise. ;-)

這是墨韵2018年B站上市時她自己上載的
碰碰和墨韵是同一个人吧?
她竟然不是专业的吗?🤔
The harp is obsolete😔

who are you😂
She probably has an introvert personality.
Let her perform in a way she's comfortable..
why let the veil bother you, just accept another country's culture and traditions, then the world will be a better place.
So where do I find Traditional Chinese Music now that my Westerner Horde has usurped all other cultures heritage ?
