I just got my package, and just tested the morimoto, 1 bangers combo yellow light with my motorcycle battery.
Just a couple of minutes, the first time I see the light pattern as you guys demonstrate,
Very bright and very good when pointing the light further, no dark spots, no len flare, just very good.
But the light pod housing is getting warmer just 3 or 4 minutes of switching on.
Expensive light pods but it’s worth the price

Excellent video series. I appreciate seeing your testing done both in-house against a wall to compare beam patterns and intensity and in real-world side-by-side photos to compare throw and spread. It'd be nice to continue seeing those done in an area with greater depth and peripheral objects like in your "We Found the Best and the Brightest! | Baja Designs LP9 Pod Light Shootout" video.
Hope to see ARB's Intensity V2 (32 or 21 LED) and Solis (36 or 21) thrown into the mix soon. Both are offered in flood and spot configurations.

Cool comparison! It would've been great if you compared the vision x cg2 6.7 single LED. It most likely would've been at the top as far as candela and lux numbers go.
The Diode Dynamics Driving pattern is also much closer to the Morimoto BB Combo pattern. The DD combo pattern is flood light pattern on 2/3rd's of the light.

Awesome videos and thank you for spending the time and money. However, some of the brands experienced a bit of a disservice here. Pretty much everyone except for diode dynamics, morimoto and, the wild card mention, pro comp. Pro comp should be glad they were even invited to the party.
I really liked all the lights you showed. But, for “spot” then it should be all dedicated spot optics throughout with no periphery lighting. So, I would have liked to have seen: Baja Designs XL racer edition, Baja designs XL sport; Diode Dynamics SS5 sport and SS5 pro; VisionX 6.7” CG2 single source LED, KC Highlights Pro6 Gravity single light; Rigid Industries XL hyperspot and XL spot and the Morimoto Bigbanger series.
For the “combo” then take the above mentioned Baja Designs, Diode Dynamics and morimoto. Pull the spot lenses out and drop in “combo.” Then, show the VisionX 6.7” CG2 multi led and visionx 6.7” adv, KC hilights gravity pro6 driving sense they don’t have a combo, Rigid Industries XL driving sense they don’t have a combo.
The amber vs white was great to see. Truly a great video and I enjoyed the content dispite a few discrepancies. However, most are not putting out this kind of lighting content and I appreciate it.

When you did your night measurements, were you using pairs or just one for each test?
I've been on the fence with Diode Dynamics SS5 Pros in amber. I have their SS3 Pros and those things have been a god send for me especially during heavy precipitation of any kind. I have amber so it doesnt throw as much light back at me but i need it powerful enough to throw into the distance to try and spot those damn deer before they go full kamikaze mode and just general debris that my normal lights might not illuminate until its too late.

I know there are so many Chinese light companies out there but without actually testing you never know if it’s a “worthy “ purchase for a lower budget .. Auxbeam ,Auxcitoox, COLIGHT, … I do understand you can get what you pay for but as we see even higher end lights with I’ll say higher price points doesn’t mean their the best. @@HeadlightRevolution
Morimoto themselves mention on their website that their Combo beam meets SAE J581 regulation and Diodedynamics also mention the same for their driving beam pattern.
That means you should be comparing Diode dynamics driving and Morimoto combo beam.
If the name says combo doesn’t mean both combos should be compared.
Common guys, you put in lot of effort to make these videos, then why not show the right stuff.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution 10 месяцев назад +2

I think you might be mistaken, a combo beam pattern would not be SAE-compliant. However, the 4Banger wide beam photometrics are SAE F 20 compliant - only driving beams should be compliant with road standards. Combo and spot beams should never be used to supplement driving beams since they do not have a proper cut-off.
