I liked 5 and 7 the best. How common is it to find a balcony that you can sit or drink coffee on? Being outside in the morning is very important to me!
@C Comm it will depend on the apartment because of the router and the package that they choose. As for regular data, you can get a monthly sim card $12 where the speed is quite fast. Da Nang is catching up to Thailand for "digital nomads".
Megan, This is my third video that i have watched from your channel in the last few months since I am planning to move back to Vietnam later this year. Thanks for making these videos about Vietnam.
Aloha to you from beautiful tropical paradise island 🏝 of Kauai, Hawaii. I was in Da Nang ,Vietnam 🇻🇳 in 2018 about 11 months, very romantic city ,no single people here I love it very much total paradise on the planet .Thanks for sharing .❤ 🌹
Without a doubt the one you stayed in. Not because it was the least expensive one, but it actually looked the most luxurious and modern. And the size was perfect for one person. More space just means more cleaning and less time for exploring the outside. Although I wouldn’t mind relaxing for a day or two at this place. Wouldn’t it be nice if we here in Canada could find something close to it ? Makes me wanna cry. PS. Nice job on the vlogs. The videos and your guiding voice reflects a perfect combination.
My favorite is the last one :D :D! This is a great video and so helpful for people who are trying to see what they can get for their budget. Da Nang accommodations are so wonderful for the price range!
Very nice, thanks. Looking for a destination in october for a month of rest and some scuba diving. Very tempted by Viet Nam now that I saw your videos.
Apt 5 was my favorite. The natural light and view is what sold me. Megan, if you do another apt tour, would you please focus more on the view? Thanks, and I enjoy your videos. I'm planning to move to Chiang Mai, but Da Nang is definitely on my visit list.
#2 was so charming with those arches and overall decor!! But I would be pleased to live in any of them to be honest...prices are so cheap and it looks like a lovely city! New subscriber btw, really enjoying your videos and insight, Megan :)
Thank you for sharing Megan! These tips are very helpful. I like apt 7 and 8. I wish I had the courage to just pick up and go to a foreign land to live. I've thought of moving back to VN someday since I was born there, but too scared to make a move. Never been to Da Nang but watching your videos really gives me hope.
@@PortableProfessional Hi there, where is the link for the video about how to find an apartment? and red flags to notice when choosing an apartment? Would really like to watch it as i am plannign on moving there in March.
Da Lat is much nicer in weather but too small compare to Saigon. However will pick Da Lat over Saigon any day of the week. Pick Saigon if you can stand the heat and enjoy night life. Their new apartments are getting better and better by the day.
Shopping for a condo May 2024 and prices have increased alot since the pandemic. Hover i like the neighborhoods north of wher you are showing. And i like to swim daily since DaNang is so hot. There are plenty of luxury condos with pools and gyms. Prices range $400 to $500
Have to go with the #2. Greek columns for the win! ...and the bed...lounging around in a toga, drinking wine from a golden goblet, grapes peeled by hand and a fresh wreath of laurel leaves. OK, maybe a bit over the top, but matches the décor!
Incredibly well organized, informative, concise, and entertaining. So many of these types of videos are boring, lack order, consistency, or are poorly performed. You excel in all areas of production. Well done!
I lived by the ocean for 6 years in Philippines ... now in Saigon, I like visiting the ocean. I never want to live ocean side again. I have a 2 story, 2 bedroom, 2 bath house about 20 min from the airport ...8m VND. I really hate apartment living. In Vietnam, I can only say, it's a bit different from living in an apartment in the USA. Hard to describe what people do, but trust me ... it is always a surprise. I've lived in VN off and on for 13 years.
Really liked #3 and the fact that some of the lower priced apartments had washing machines. If the location is good, the value seem to be there on the price point.
Thanks great info i'd just like to see the outside views because i do like apartments with little balconies and the view can make a difference eg sea view or building view and if overlooked etc. When i first went vietnam i didnt stop in da nang and 2nd time i did and loved it, hoi an is also amazing. unfortunately weather ruined my trip in nov 23 so much torrential rain it followed me from hanoi, ninh bing, da nang to hoi an.
Question/Comment: The prices of the apartments you are showing are good but why not get a small 2 or 3 bedroom house which is almost the same amount of money and it has room for guests, a small garden, balcony and if your lucky a roof top terrace? ... are you trying to focus on the short-term rental selections? If that is true, then I would agree on your selections, however there are so many houses that are nice but give you far more than a small apartment might offer. I agree, not many small apartment buildings have a pool or gym but condo's do but for 700usd/month you could find a house with a pool in the back..... I am just saying as I have lived in Bangkok's and Tokyo's super small condo's and they are just too small so i love how affordable houses are in Da Nang, compared to Asia and Saigon where I have also lived... Thanks
I'm glad you made this video because I was searching info concerning apartments in Da Nang. My favorite was #3, because it came with a wash machine and was only $300.00. The 2 bedroom had a wash machine too, but I'm currently living in the US and I'm paying $600 for the same size apartment. So I would never pay that high of a price for an apartment in Vietnam.
Plenty of buildings with pools and gyms. Also if you know what you're looking for can get a full house, modern and furnished for 8-10M. Otherwise informative video and you've got a great screen presence
Nice work! I like how u show apartment info for a while before it disappears. Nice apartments, but wasn't clear on rent differences beside 2 bedroom. Others seemed the same. How much needed up front? Rent, security? Other? Lease term? How far from front door to beach? One more biggie; when was the last time a serious storm hit these areas? Category 3 or 2.
Great Video, better every week! For Social Distancing, how about a trip through the North West Passage of Canada, Solo in a kayak? .....with shore Concierge teams, of course!!
That actually sounds so wonderful. I feel like we could all use some time out in nature right about no! Hope you are doing well, and thanks for being here!
Some of these apartments would easily cost you $1500 or more in the US. $340 for the Apt 5 seems very spacious, and am surprised at how cheap it is. Then again, I guess the exchange rate helps a lot. Actually, the crazy thing is that if you're traveling to a place a lot, say every few months, it may just make sense to rent an apartment for a year versus staying in a hotel each time. But I would only do that if you know you're going to be there on a semi-regular basis (say every month or every other month) to utilize the space and make it worth the money, but even at $340 if you went there twice a year for a week each time, that might still be cheaper than staying in a hotel perhaps.
Here in US, apartments like this is 10X as much - if near the beach, and safety and security is not as good compared to what you have there! Lucky, you.
When you film a apartment etc please open the blinds + curtains so we can see the outside nobody wants a view of a building site outside there window when a client commits to 1/ 2 months he /she need to see what the area is like
How nice to be spoiled for choice. It is hard to pick one without knowing the surrounding neighborhood and the vibe of the building. Like you, my first choice would likely be #1, but I'd be happy with #5, #7, or #8, with an honorable mention for #4 too. A balcony would be a big plus. Based on my experience in service apartments, a separate sleeping area can also be a real bonus, particularly if you plan to have friends visit from time to time, or also if you are a light sleeper, as some refrigerator compressors are loud and can disturb sleep during the night. Is it worth having the washing machine in Da Nang, or is it like most places in Thailand where getting laundry done is easy and affordable? I will look forward to the step-by-step how to rent instructions next week. Be well. Cheers.
Hi Mark! Good choices, and totally agree that you need to see the surrounding area and get the 'vibe". I love having a separate room, but I fell in love with my landlord and her family. It's so nice to move somewhere when you know the internet will work and so on... I'd be happy to pay more for a 1 bedroom, but I like the convenience of sticking to somewhere I know. My building had laundry on the rooftop. There are also laundry-mats around the city - very cheap!
Great video so far. Love you telling us what’s included I. The price. But please show us the view from the windows or balconies. I was so disappointed not to be able to see the balconies and views from those. Xxx
I find it more challenging inland with greater language barriers and not so many rentals aimed at foreigner, but yes, you could likely find cheaper! Good Luck :)
Just watch 2 of your video, always wanted to go to Vietnam.I would like to see a video the paper work needed to get into Vietnam. my favorite apartment was # 5.
Thanks for all of the time and effort you put into your videos. I could definitely see myself living in Da Nang. I could be happy living in any of those apartments. How many months do most landlords ask for a lease? Thanks. Hope you are staying as safe as possible.
Thank you, John, this is really kind. Most landlords ask for 3 months minimal. I'll cover more of this when I dive into the details next week. There is a lot of room for negotiation with the supply greatly outweighing the demand. Thanks for watching!
5, 1, and 3. Having a separate living room from the bedroom is nice also a large refrigerator is helpful. Locations is the key. Hopefully I wouldn't be spending too much time in my apt. This is very helpful to get an idea of what's possible at this price point. How many minutes walk is it from the beach from these apartments? If you wanted to be able to see the ocean could you do it for $600 or would it be a lot more?
You could do it for 600. The places lining the beach are typically fancy resorts, but you could get a high floor on an apartment across the street from beach access. You are within 5-15 minutes walking to the beach from the location in this video.
Loved seeing the different places, but one thing I look for is a view. Maybe there were no views to show from these places. But just in case you haven't been showing the view, love it if you would in the future.😊
Megan, I agree with your choice for all the same reasons. Seems to have everything you'd really need so why pay for more? I do wonder where you do laundry. Thought I spotted a washing machine in a couple of the first three but you went by so fast I wasn't sure - definitely in the fourth Great video.
You’re sooo pretty. If I should return to live in VN, Da Nang’s beach town is my top choice!!! Am originally from Ben Tre in the south. (Hello from Plano, Texas)
Hi Jay, thanks for the input! I've heard of a few but was also told the pools wern't anything to write home about haha. Were the ones you saw nice? Thanks for watching!

I'd choose your apartment! #3 looks like your apartment anyway ... but I would choose yours! Does the owner of that have any more apartments the same as yours in that block?
@Megan from Portable Professionals I sm stuck between Apts 2, 5, 6, 8. Like to move to Veitnam one-day. Does Veitnam have any pet shops I could work at there just out of curiosity.
Hey Ashley.... hmm that's an interesting question. I've seen a couple but they didn't seem overly ethical. It's something you would need to research, good luck, there has to be some!
Did not like any of them except the $600 one. Next time get some $400-500 range. Most seem like an efficient apartment. Been to China Beach during the war. Please do the same for Hoi An.
Which apartment was your FAVORITE!? 🏠🇻🇳🏡
