I live near a state prison and it’s wild to see trustee’s driving tractors, trucks, horses while moving cattle and mowers around the area totally unguarded. They must stay on state property which has no fences. You never hear of any escaping or getting into trouble.
Australia im not sure if we still do it, but they use to have football teams and they'd come down to the ovals to play in the competitions. You would always see them out delivering stuff, doing gardening, farming, it's probably close to a work farm than a prison but it was always weird to see the first couple of times. Too many people think all prisons are like TV we're you get raped and bashed nonstop.
@@weasle5022 I don’t know if the Louisiana D.O.C has a football league but Angola Prison which is near me has 2 annual rodeos, a weekend spring one and every Sunday in October, that draws thousands of spectators. It’s also a giant inmate craft show and you actually visit with the inmates that are working the vendor booths, picking up trash and doing other jobs during the event not to mention participating in all the rodeo events. All the stuff I see about our prison system is not true, maybe a long time ago it was bloody but that’s changed. The Angola wood shop builds the most beautiful coffins that prisoners are buried in but there is a waiting list for the public wanting one built.
Also our prison system is self sustaining by growing crops and raising livestock. They even make person toiletries and cleaning tools(mops & brooms) and other cleaning products.
We have library's in California prisons. To get a book mailed in it can only come from certain vendors. That way it's harder to soak the pages in dope and mail it in.
In the U.S., many, many people are in prison for crimes where there was no victim. The Prison Industrial Complex owns our Congress and law enforcement.
You say that like the Dems aren't guilty of the same thing. Harris was doing the exact same thing before she was elected as VP. This is a normal practice for all politicians, regardless of side.
