A few weeks ago, I said that 52 points are needed for this season to survive to the Championship. But right now, I'm going to lower that number a little bit and say: "50 points are needed to survive" Of all seasons in the 2nd tier of English football with 24 teams competing, bottom 3 for relegation, 3 points for a win and no points deduction taken into account, these were the teams who got relegated with 50+ points 2016/17: Blackburn Rovers (51 points) 2012/13: Peterborough United (54 points), Wolverhampton Wanderers (51 points) 2007/08: Leicester City (52 points) 2004/05: Gillingham (50 points) 2003/04: Walsall (51 points) 1995/96: Millwall (52 points) 1993/94: Birmingham City (51 points)

Quality vid Matt, enjoyed the content. Imo, any team in this league, come the end of the season, who can't secure 48/ 52 pts. from the 138pts available. Are obviously absolute pony. And deserve to be relegated. I'm a Leeds fan. And when we got relegated from the premiership, our total pts tally was 31pts from the 114 pts available. I couldn't wait to be relegated, because we were absolute garbage. And getting tanked every week by most teams , was nothing but torturous. Given every single player , who's in any team, within our top two leagues, ( irrelevant of the gulf in quality) are still ment to be professional footballers , I personally think it's absolutely shocking . Don't get me wrong it's been a tough run but the performance levels have dropped off at an alarming rate more so at Home, What concerns me most is the relationship with the fans it's never a good combo, I've never seen a person to walk in and turn the club upside down he has got a lot of reflection and work to do in the break has i don't see the club giving him the push due to Dewsnips connection. I fear for Birmingham this season. Sheffield Wednesday will escape, their form is good right now and I think it will continue. QPR frankly deserve to run out of luck. But I think they will escape again, it reminds me of Coventry when they were in the Premier League, always just surviving relegation (until they finally ran out of luck). It's possible we could see one of Millwall, Blackburn, Plymouth or Stoke finish in the bottom 3. The final day is going to have a few teams in contention, and will be squeaky bum time for a few teams.
