I work in IT Security. EVERYTHING in this TED talk is terrifying if you understand the the vulnerabilities this introduces into everything you connect to the internet. My house has NONE of this stuff.
innovation needs walks together with security. everything easy is vulnerable. what is compleks is safe. why not we secure it with blockchain and Ai for cybersecurity?
Is there someone like me who gets really so much excited by watching videos like this on our growing technology and what it will be like in just most recent 5 years or less and they get so much excited for all this growing technology and want it to grow more faster day by day? 😍 And also when u know that it's already a reality what is he talking about then it makes u more excited that it's not just an idea like full immersion virtual reality but it's already a reality and emerging right now 😍😍😍
As an IT professional .... the "Internet of Things" is a security disaster waiting to happen. But judging from talks like this it'll probably have to hurt for real before people get it. "And you don't have to be an expert to use it" .... ... yeah... since we have absolutely no problems with non-experts creating security issues on the Internet.
***** ... which of course will be easy, when the company who made those tim tams go broke and they didn't even know where the firmware came from because it was in a component they got from a Chinese subcontractor which is also broke and gone.
As an IT professional... why do people do that? just say what's on your mind. The disaster is no different than a computer transacting on the internet without HTTPS. in time these problems do get solved we still in the beginning stages of it.
... if you think that, then you haven't understood the problem (or what HTTPS actually is). You cannot just sprinkle acronyms and then suddenly it's "secure". The first and foremost problem with these devices is that nobody cares about how they are made or how they get security fixes (which they don't). The only way a malicious device out there will get 'fixed" in most cases is the normal product cycle when it break and is thrown out in 4-8 years. That's plenty of room for getting abused for all kinds of nefarious stuff.
Love how everyone denouncing the use of technology and internet in the comments don't see the irony of being online and using technology for a personal means...
There is nothing wrong with using the internet and using some techno gadgets...but going overboard with it can be a problem and then people forget how much of their activities and info are recorded somewhere.
This guy is a robot and is crazy if he thinks that all of the people will put this rubbish in their fridges or anywhere else. Why they should do that? To show people like him, that they are very modern and not far behind? Bullshits. The simple, the better. And the wise people will not allow that people like him and Bill Gates enter their homes and steal their privacy. Crazy world.

Well it seems like iot would be creating a lot of unemployment, especially in overpopulated countries like India and China, where there are already very less job opportunities as compared to their population. Don't know , it's a boon or a curse.
Ah, the buzzwords. Well, self-driving cars are slowly coming, some robots are still too expensive and production processes are not yet streamlined enough to replace human workers everywhere and it´s definitively not realistic that my 2d main door camera will identigy me so that I don´t need a key. Brave new World will take a little bit longer than that, but especially in war, the big players are working hard to the goal that we are getting there. Whoever builds the cheapest drone that is still effeective will win the next war. Meanwhile, factory workers in Shenzen work beside robot arms and billions of people will be laid off in the next decades. Robots are getting cheaper and more effective, it´s a big market. Look over your shoulder, everybody. Learn to incorporate AI into your business, save expenses on the human workforce. If you won´t do it, the competitor will do. 1 certified welder, 3 welding robots and 2 untrained handymen are faster and cheaper than 6 welders. A robot will be a tool like your next power grinder, just with a thicker manual. Many workers won´t be able to find a new job
Wow, this is a bunch of BS that no one needs. "Low cost to enter, low level of difficulty, high availability of resources and high digital need". Nope, it does not add value.
Statistics han show room for improvement, coaching systems can guide, discuss and alarm you when your goals and your result´s don´t align, you can do a lot of stuff remotely or share expensive hardware. I say it can add value when done right.

@@tonystark-vn9jx "Innovation" need not follow the footsteps of Satan.
@@amxaas4450 wtf do you mean by satan?
@@tonystark-vn9jx I disagree on that. As something is complex it is much more vulnerable. With simple but great innovation comes security.

Redundancy springs to mind.
Its getting to a point where humans will be a burden.

Why don't you get up off your arse, out of your chair, at 7pm, turn on the TV and watch The Simpsons - At least you'll get some exercise !
just get out.
These fools speak as if this is all a great idea. I say R.I.O.T. resist internet of things.
You are allowed to say whatever you want. No restrictions on fools, am I right?
how are we gonna pay for these things in our homes if we won't even have jobs by then Jordan
My sofa is currently feeling a bit depressed, so it has decided to seek the chair's advice !!!!!Damn stupid !!!!!!!
