You wouldn't believe if I told you that I've tried to play this game, so many times, and always did something wrong. Not anymore! Thank you Thomas. Your channel rocks!
17:10 you beat a level 2 monster to death with a door. That's savage! 😂😂 Great video. I have this game printed in my travel games bag but never got around to trying. Thanks for making a video on it, definitely giving it a shot now!! ❤
This is a really fun game. I liked it enough that I made an in-hand variant (I have a video how-to) that works pretty well. My only issue with this game is there aren't as many choices as I would like, so I've been working on a variant I call "Curses" but haven't figured out an in-hand way for that yet without getting arthritis, lol. Great playthrough, thanks!
I already played this not long ago. I'm occasionally trying the (expert game) tarot card version from Labyrinth of Souls book. Eventually I'll obtain the extra arcana cards for the advance game. Those versions are more interesting and challenging.
Interesting concept. Couple Questions. 1. On a matching result is it a win or a loss? Example draw a 4 Door and flip a 4 monster? Is it a win? The difference is 0 so I am guessing it would be considered a win. The other question is total pints, you mention 100 is a perfect score, but 4 kings is 40 and the diamonds will get you 54 (Since the 1, J, Q and K, can not be obtained). for a total of 94. Where would the other 6 points come from?
1. Matching value is a win. From the rules: "To win an encounter, an action card must be equal to or greater than the encounter card." 2. The other 6 come from having the Scroll of Light (the joker) in hand

Thanks so much! :) Glad to hear this video was helpful

Thanks! Sometimes in the dungeon you gotta work with what you got, which in that case all I had was a door 😂 Glad you enjoyed
@@boardgameswiththomas I found a good way to condense this game's layout was to overlap the defeated cards over each other, it helped a fair bit.
Love this channel. Keep it up. Got this game and loved it.
Glad to hear it!
I love you showcasing all these standard deck solo games. Any chance you could give a quick rundown on how you'd rank them against each other?
Thanks! I actually did a ranking video not too long ago: ruclips.net/video/dGFu68pRKyI/видео.htmlsi=0PSe-QTAY679yqJh

I agree that there aren't as many choices as I would like. That sounds like a cool variant, I'll check it out! Thanks for the suggestion

So what does the Jack of hearts do I think even if you get all the diamond cards as treasure it doesn’t reach a 100 points
It allows you to avoid a single instance of damage, either from a trap or a monster
This looks like a fun one!
One question: When can you use the Jack of Hearts (Dodge)?
It is quite fun! It can be played whenever you would lose hit points so my interpretation is that it can be used against both monsters and traps

do we only use 1 joker can we use both? if it even makes much difference…
You normally only use 1, I haven't tried it with 2 before
What if you run out of cards to play?
That is not possible, you die when all 4 torches are out
what i do is when i use a jack i place it in the encounter
I normally discard it off to the side, it doesn't make much of a difference what you do with it
What do you do with jack of hearts
It allows you to avoid one instance of damage, either from a monster or a trap
I made a web version of this game. Waiting for Matthew's reply...
That's awesome!
No joke, on my first go i got 4/66
Sadly probably can only go down from here 😂😅😢
