Came here to say this. Sanitarium from the last chorus, FOH, especially when lars just throws his sticks at the kit to start it, but somehow in like 3 seconds they are smashing it. Amazing.
I suppose we should also give that credit to their techs who run the switching and make that shit magic with all the right tones. 👏👏👏👏

Can someone explain why in all these tuning room videos lars talks into a microphone when he's 7 feet away from everyone?
The guys wear something called ear monitors (the earbuds in their ears) so that they can hear the instrumenst or something. I dont really understand..... But all of the microphones are probably connected to the ear monitors and thats why. But don't take this as a 100% correct answer

jarne van criekinge I'm afraid he's not a great bass player my young Dutch friend!! Anybody can learn Metallica songs on bass. It's when he's doodling, he doesn't play the strings like a professional bass player who knows his fret board like the back of his hand,that's why. When Hetfield and Ulrich stop playing so does Trujillo. No doodling because apart from some slapping, that's all he can do. Very limited player. Sorry to hurt your feelings Dutch !!

User 963 Don't give me all that about Infectious Groove or Suicidal Tendencies. Hip Hop and bass slapping like i said. He does what is expected of him in Metallica nothing more and nothing less. I can tell what Trujillo is capable by the way he uses he fingers on both hands. Very much like a learner. Too used to slapping during his hip hop days. There are hundreds of fluid players on RUclips from bass players younger and older and better than Trujillo. It's not hating on anyone, it's the evidence i've seen.
CrAzYCaM 8 I couldn't agree more. But you did forget to mention Steve Harris in your list of great bass players!! To me Jason Newstead was as Metallica as Hetfield and Ulrich. Jason was pure metal in Metallica. He gave his all, had great tone and appearance and headbanged till the cows came home!! Trujillo makes a big deal every time he has to play something from the cliff era.. Making silly strained faces as if to show how difficult it is to the fans! Eh no Robert, it's really not that difficult! I'd hate to see him trying to play some of Steve Harris's earlier stuff. I never warmed to Trujillo and the silly crab walk and swinging the bass. That shit was ok for Suicidal Tend and infectious Grooves but not metal.
