Hua Chenyu has said in an interview, that he does write some songs alone. Other times he works with a lyricist who basically takes whatever Hua wants to convey and turn it into a song. So, either way, it's all Huas genuine feelings. Hope that made sense. This is at the top of my list of favorite Hua songs and performances. Enjoyed your reaction and interpretations as well :)
Hua Hua doesn't write his lyrics, but he works very closely with several lyricists. He has them do rewrites until he is happy with the Lyrics. He knows he is a great Composer and cleverly knows to get excellent Lyricists to write for his songs.

The whole song is switching back and forth between "illusion" and "reality", and the paragraphs are mainly divided into three parts: The first part’s lyrics start from the very beginning till "that tenderness is not pretended". The way I understand it is a little bit different - the first part lays out the whole illusion and reality landscape, the second (upbeat) part is in fact the illusion propaganda chanted by myriad voices (all actually recorded by Hua Chenyu in more than a hundred tracks) and the third part is the reality one has to come to terms with in order to continue with their lives.

Love your reaction. Hua did not write the lyrics, but he has very clear message to deliver in each paragraph. Sometimes he has some words he has to include in certain parts. His lyrics writer has to write again and again until he’s happy. That why his music and lyrics are always consistent and you know what he’s trying to present.

Hi Fil, Hua doesn't write the lyrics. He conveys the idea and key words to the lyricists he works with. He only accepts the letter when it says exactly what he wants to convey. Until today Hua only wrote Why Nobody Fights, and Conversations with Children from Mars, he wrote with some fans. I add that all the voices are Hua recorded in more than 100 voices of his own. Hi Fil, Hua doesn't write the lyrics. He conveys the idea and key words to the lyricists he works with. He only accepts the letter when it says exactly what he wants to convey. Until today Hua only wrote Why Nobody Fights, and Conversations with Children from Mars, he wrote with some fans. I add that all the voices are Hua recorded in more than 100 voices of his own.
