You should have done your homework, Ths All Terrain will go up non paved 38 degree mud hills that have mild ruts and pot holes. It is not a Renegade that will go up rock mountains although it will handle many dirt and non paved rough roads with ease. Also you never mentioned the fact that all the wheels have independent computer controlled air shocks which allows it to smoothly take on very bad potholed and non paved roads. Many people that can afford the All Terrain also have homes in the mountains that only have dirt road access that sometimes get washed out. Perfect car for that.
Exactly this, I use mine to get up the mountainroads to different snowboard/ski-resorts. What an absolut beaut of a car this is. Absolutely love it. Great for towing the boat also.
What you are missing here is the fact that neither the G Class or the GLE touch dirt both ar in the suburbs all year yet you get the terrible drag coefficient and higher center of gravity every single day and for what? For one day of off road a year? This vehicle solves that.
"A really good car with unnecessary marketing behind it." Well said. It reminds me of Acura trying to make all their consumer vehicles out to be track cars.
Certainly the tech is there to allow it to raise up another 3 inches..........it would be pretty much perfect then, at least in my eyes. What are you waiting for Mercedes ?
Good video. I think you are being too tough on the “off-road credentials”. No one would buy this thinking it’s a rock crawler. For me, I would want to know that it can handle a moderate snow storm and can handle the rutted dirt road up to a summer cottage.
I have a 2022 All-terrain and I agree that the AT designation is a misnomer. It is a brilliant wagon, but a totally on-road wagon. It handles like an E-class, which is a great thing, but “All Terrain” it is not.
I have a silver 2014 E350 302 HP naturally aspirated V6 sport wagon and love it, especially the hidden front seat compartments, analog clock and 6-disc CD player. I removed the useless way back seats. I really want a new one, but so hate the BS all terrain marketing nonsense and fugly plastic fender trim... Makes it look shamefully gaudy. Mercedes should reconsider marketing the E450 sport wagon available state side. A shooting brake would be nice too. Not a fan of SUV's. Matte paint is a nightmare to maintain and impo$$ible to repair match.
Great car! Looking for one now, but keep getting stuck with the 48V battery issue that caused MB to buyback some of them. Good price on those buybacks tho...sigh
This is the All-Terrain version of Mercedes. It sits somewhere between a regular wagon and an suv. If you want the wagon without the cladding, you can get the normal E450 wagon.
@@mathurinkerbouchard8931 ... For MY21 & '22 Mercedes NA offers only the All-Terrain E-Class 450. .. The motherland offers both E-Class Kombi models. .. Mercedes Canada offers a C-Class wagon to boot.
+1.. Halalula .. review the All-Terrain like it is. .. "5.8 inch road clearance" ... The Outback original has a static 9 inches of clearance and the OB imatator the Audi Allroad is 8 inches-something at its highest. .. We'll wait until Mercedes NA clears its head of the All-Terrain marketing. .. In the motherland both E-Class Kombi's are offered. . Subscribed.
The car in question? What a ridiculous statement in a E450 All Terrain and then you display your UNACCEPTABLE bias against the vehicle. Why do you WASTE OUR TIME with this inferior video?
@BrainFuck10 .. +1. Agreed, both the Audi A6 Allroad and Merc E-450 wagons are viewed about town here in Vail. .. The Audi Allroad being color dependant, is either "tough or elegant looking".

I think he never did real offroad. Because panda 4x4 is one of the best offroad.

Amen. Well said.
Oh man this is so good. Literally laughed out loud to "Driving Braden and Caden to snowboard practice...". And right on the money.
@David Cuccia .. +1. I heard that too. "Braden & Caden" from New Canaan Connecticut no less.. Hilarious!
"I wish there were two versions" fully agree. The BEST no nonsense review of this vehicle ive seen. I bought one anyway.
"A really good car with unnecessary marketing behind it." Well said. It reminds me of Acura trying to make all their consumer vehicles out to be track cars.
Made me change down to standard e wagon. Same spec no all terrain Subaru shit required. Thanks for hints
Superb video! Thanks for the insight.
Always the best in TED talks
I’m seriously considering a slightly older E450 wagon without all the off-road poseur bits.
A rather aggressive presentational style.
Certainly the tech is there to allow it to raise up another 3 inches..........it would be pretty much perfect then, at least in my eyes. What are you waiting for Mercedes ?

Fair, but it DOES have All-Terrain in the name haha. Yeah, its most heavy lifting would be up a gravel driveway to a ski house. And that's fine.

@A K ... This All-Terrain owner agrees . . . Our '23 E-450 AT is 3 weeks old ..

I've read that the wagon customers have the highest net worth of any of their other vehicles.
@Ken Colman .. "Customers" .. Must be old money types. ..
I heard the same.

There is a nog All Terrain E-Class wagon. Just not in the US…
Your videos could be so much better if there wasn’t any music. It’s just disturbing.
Make an E450 All Terrain 4x4^2!!!
in Europe you can have it without the All Terrain stuff... as you mentioned.
Agreed on all points. It’s a shame, the cladding really doesn’t do it for me.

Wow lol what is that on the top of the doors-old school lock indicators:)
Dude's half Canadian

@John Adams ... Hey! . It's Luv / Hate.
It looks like a beached whale stuck in the sand!
Audi & Volvo wagons look way better.
