Absolute banger of a tune, she was amazing, this and nothing compares are my favourites, I like drink before the war, famine and jealous too, and her cover of all apologies by Nirvana, Just wish I listened to her more when she was alive, i hope shes at peace now, rest well Sinéad
Uh, the he you are describing as Sinead is a she. She's a woman, and she shaved her head back then, I forget why, it may have been a political reason. Anyway, not too big a deal. I appreciate your passion for what is a fantastic rock song, and it is one of her best compositions. The critics who didn't like it were superficial morons, and in the long run, no one cares about those idiots. The music is all that matters, and this song is great, from start to finish, almost a mini progressive rock pop piece with interesting lyrics on a fascinating subject, which no one really gets all of what she's going for there, but the mystery it makes is even more fun. I love her vocals, especially towards the end, with all the great harmonies, and creative up range and down range voices, in the studio version, but live here, she does a great job trying to approximate the studio sparkles & sparks. Awesome.
Does everybody know that Mike Joyce from The Smiths played drums here along with The Smiths Andy Rourke on bass?? Rest in peace Sinead and Andy.
Magnifica Sinead

Reading that is like eating a horribly overcooked steak. I can only describe that writing as 'chewy'.
