- On March 14th, #PiDay, numbers' rationality meets art's sensibility through π ≈ 3.14. Carrying no repetitive rhythm, this endless mathematical concept defies fractions yet adheres to perfect geometric order, unveiling the profound mysteries of the universe.
"Mathematics is God's poetry of the universe." At #chinaacademyofart, we witness this poetic fusion every day-students seamlessly blend art and mathematics: golden ratios in architecture, Fibonacci sequences in oil paintings, and fractal geometry in printmaking.
We have measured the "circles" in this art palace: the circular rooftop of the CAA Art Museum forms a frozen three-dimensional helix; the rotating staircase of Liangzhu Library spirals knowledge upwards; the basketball hoop catching the setting sun symbolizes continuous rotation; and the ice crack patterns on window panes have serendipitously created the most exquisite aperiodic tiling…
On this day, we celebrate the "circles" in art-these geometric wonders and aesthetic statements remind us that the pursuit of perfection in art knows no bounds. Let's paint infinite possibilities within our finite lives.
