- I have elaborated my user experience with BSNL FTTH after using it for one month. Feedbacks and suggestions are welcome. I have touched the following points.
1. How to Book new BSNL FTTH Connection?
2. Total Cost of Installation.

5. Network Coverage.
5G vs 5GHz:
And I wish to mention here that, wherever I mention 'G', it represents 'GHz' in this video. Since the netlink router has 'G' notations instead of 'GHz', i am mentioning the same in this video. Thanks for understanding.

Bro they are charging very high comparing to other top ISP's having Airtel Xstream fibre awesome service and only paid nearly 3000 for both router and installation (dual band router both 2.4 and 5ghz)

Oru doubt sir, 11:38 How wifi antennas (in terms of its numbers on a modem/router) will decide its wi-fi speed in 2.4 or 5 Ghz bands ? Since latest GPON/EPON TP Link Modems have just two antennas for a dual band of 2.4 & 5 Ghz bands.

Sir, i have one doubt. Today i went to bsnl office for applying new FTTH connection. I told them i need 599 60mbps plan. But they told that i can't avail that plan. They suggest me to avail either 799 or 449 plan. They said that 449 plan will automatically update to 599 plan after 6 months. My doubt here is, in this video as you said after connection you changed to 599 plan. Can i also do the same as you did??? Pls help me sir. I'm bit confused in this. Thanks in advance ☺️
They are restricting certain plans in certain area. For example, 449 plan is not available for my locality. I suggest you to check with the bsnl self portal for the availability of plans in your locality. If 599 plan is listed, then yes you can change it immediately through online with a nominal onetime charge of ₹100+. Cheers.

3 days before thaan bought the connection bro...our operator already knew about the router specifications... He himself suggested the Netlink dual band router and told the price is only Rs 2850/- He told that "online la apd thaan sir rate potirupaanga" .. Sir, like other electronic devices, Router can be switched off when not in use.
Installation is free. But franchisee is collecting Rs.1000 and above from public. In some places they took Rs.500 also. All these things they collect without bill.

599 is the fixed amount sir. Irrespective of the usage, one has to pay ₹700 approximately (including 18%GST).

They may be right. BSNL FTTH works only on PON port routers. Based upon their remarks, your router may not be compatible.

I took fibre connection from BSNL. Wiring and router has been fixed yet I'm not getting internet services. It's been more than 5days. Tried contacting the operator and as expected he's not picking the call. I reached out to Customer care & BSNL office and everyone pointed me to Operator. Any thoughts on activating internet services from our end ??
Sir, you can configure the router yourself. So many videos available in RUclips. You need some details from your operator to start with. Let me try to post a video on it. Hope your problem will be solved soon.

I hope you know that FTTH is different from the regular Cable TV connection. It needs separate connection procedures similar to cable TV connection. Ask them for the 10K break up and let me know bro. We shall discuss.

I am in a rural area, from the bsnl exchange distance to my home is about 1.5 kms. They are asking me to pay the cable laying charges for which they are quoting around Rs 25000. I am using only JIO sim because of this. BSNL should address these problems, if not in another 10 years BSNL will be gone. Please make a video about this.

எப்ப வேணா போகும் , வரும்... அதே போல ஒரு நாளைக்கு 3, 4 முறை நெட் கனெக்சன் கட் ஆகும், அதே போல வேகம் நான் 200Mbps பிளான் எடுத்து இருந்தேன், அது என்னவோ ஒரு நாளைக்குள் 10 தடவைகள் வேகம் 5Mbps கீழ் சென்று விடும்.

apart from installation and router charges I had a big shock in my bill which no one in BSNL inform during my conversation with customercare. I was slapped with "one time charge" of 2099 Rs in my first bill, which will be refundable while terminating my BSNL connection.

It maybe because of your change in facility. Usually onetime minimum charge (say ₹100) is applicable when changing a plan within FTTH. Anyhow ₹2000 seems to be higher.

PON port is required for BSNL FTTH. Netlink, Syrotech are the common routers supplied by ISPs.
