3:00 holy moly thats an old clip of me, I had a huge brake from rumble as I thought it was too hard. But recently ish when I saw shoeless's video it brought me back into the game, now I'm a red belt and slowly but surely getting better, as well as enjoying the game so much :D

Melee also has a bunch of non-true combos (which we call "strings"), a bunch of options for counterplay even while being hit, and very rare true combos. Normally, "combo" refers to a string, and your traditional fighting game combos are almost always "true combos".
lmao if you play casual Smash Bros, combo = whatever you get away with.
I think it’s the implication of maintaining pressure that separates combo-ing from just smacking each other like normal.

i started playing rumble today. i already love the game even though i have only played 3 people. they were all great people and 2 of them were blackbelts. one of them completely stopped after noticing im a white belt and helped me get better. afterwards he gave me the win. this game has such a great community and i will invest a lot of time to get good at it.

Edit done watching video, update on progress scince watching the flick video just after it first released and subsequently starting to play rumble, 1 i now have 19.4 hours in the game where i play with 2 other guys on Tuesday's and we fight echother. 2 im currently in a style of play that uses the charge stone and surge stone, my current main combo is wall-> hold-> wait for charge, stright, wall-> explode-> do they send somthing at me?(if yes explode wall protects me, ifg no send held explode wall at them usually within enough time that it will do 6 damage.) finally i am about to graduated from collage in 2 days
I've never played Rumble, and I don't have a VR headset, but you KNOW itll be the first game I try out if I ever buy one
You will not regret it! Rumble could be the ONLY game you play on VR and it would be worth it

This reminds me so much of how combos originally came to exist, which was just people organically discovering the moves that flow into each other, rather than the devs just making button combinations that trigger specific animations as they have become.

Bought this game over 7 months ago but couldn't play it due to severe VR sickness(like 5 steps in skyrim vr and I am on the floor and have to lay down for like an hour). You made me so hype for this game that I got over my severe VR sickness.7 ish months later I finally get play rumble. Then my rift s R controller died 2 weeks later I get a new refurbed one, and I am so ready to finally play rumble and get destroyed so many times for over 300 hours(and more).
You are an inspiration and proof anyone can get over VR sickness!

But i already have a full time job and so many hobbies and responsibilities that already take up all of my time. Frank Oz was not just, "Some of the muppets" Frank Oz was one of Jim Henson's first employees and closest friends. He was Cookie Monster, Fozzie Bear, briefly did voices for a thousand other muppets and also spear headed the team that worked on Star Wars as Jim was handling the muppet show (I think? might've been the dark crystal) absolutely phenomenal person and a very talented actor and director

I just got rumble for my birthday on may 1st and I got to blackbelt on the 5th and then pulled my arm directly after taking off my headset and sitting down and now it hurts to play… BUT THATS NOT GOING TO STOP ME!!!!… I’m going to keep rumbling anyway the pain is just more motivation
