i had so much fun filming this series with the RGC crew & company. this very well may have been my favorite week of 2022. thank you Random golf club for having me. this is a special group. friendly reminder to be thoughtful in the comments. we are all human and have feelings as well. think about how you would feel if you were to read the comment you are writing, about yourself. my good friend Dave is getting a lot of hate in the comments section and honestly, he’s the last person who deserves it. if you were there, you would understand that Dave was purely bringing positive, encouraging, and supportive energy to everyone involved in this endeavor. we were all feeling nervous before this undertaking and the hype Dave brought was much needed. for reference, Dave had worked with Sam the day before filming this for about four hours to get his game ready for this Breaking Series. so, Dave was personally invested in Sam’s success; and Sam, even though he’s cool as a cucumber and you wouldn’t know it, was very nervous for this round of golf. Dave’s advice towards Sam was not unsolicited, in fact, it was very much appreciated and really helped Sam play the round of golf he’s putting together that you can see in this video. anyways, that’s all. i just wanted to stick up for my friend and help everyone understand some more context behind this video. hope you’re all enjoying as much as i am. ⛳️🫶🏼
You're a great golfer and a better person for saying this. I can only imagine the number of fans you earned from absolutely cruising on this course so far.
Agree with Dave on the course backup. If there are 100s of bookings and you're sending people out in twosomes, then that's a management error - come on, bro
For sure. Like why would you not have them come out and book up a few tee times before and after this group? Management knows it’s not going to just be 3 golfers. This is a production of the sport! Plus if you’re booking 100+ people a day at a course that I’m sure is over $100 per golfer, blocking a few tee times can’t be that catastrophic.
Completely agree with Dave. Sam is playing so well from 7700 yards I'm just in awe. And the genuine support from the others just highlights how great this game is
I don't understand some of this, hitting into wind on the 14th, 444 yards, he has 90 yards for his second shot? I think some of the yardages of the holes are way off, he's not hitting 350 into wind.
Here’s an idea for the course superintendent or marshall, whoever that was. How about you don’t schedule a promotional shoot and then book 100 two somes right after.
@@GolfRx it’s a symbiotic relationship, RGC gets content and the course gets a 3 part commercial that will increase bookings. The course just isn’t letting RGC do this because they are nice.
@@ericl9781 If RGC pays for tee times then the course should have to pay for the marketing. It’s a wash so better planing and a little communication could of avoided all of it.
My absolute favourite series on youtube - Thanks RGC for making this exist. My only feedback is that I thought it was a bit more engaging on prev. series when it showed the scorecard rather than just "+10" as it gave more the sense of the challenge of trying to break the course rather than just a score on a round of golf
Claire's ball-striking is so consistent, Dave's energy is so positive and friendly, and Sam is so even-keeled. Great chemistry in this group and the course looks amazing. Fun to watch.
To be fair how would they know how long it would take? It is only a 3 some. And to be honest it looks like there were 5 carts of "support staff" tagging along probably wasting time too.
That island green with the cactus was a thing of beauty. I am glad we got some halfway house footage. But needs pacifico when you are right on that ocean
Keep doing you, Dave. I wish people would appreciate someone actually being a decent human in this world being supportive and trying to help grow the game of golf. He’s the type that loves helping people
@@austinYFG Oh yeah? Did you read that in your book on how to grow a sport or conduct oneself when growing a sport? It’s always hysterical to hear moronic takes like this when the person making it has zero experience or credentials to give the advice out - even funnier when you don’t realize that.
So glad another Breaking series is available. Episode 1 got me to go out and play, way over par! Watched episode 2 after family time, and the finale tomorrow before my interview!
This is the best golf channel on RUclips. So refreshing. You guys will be getting new people into golf. I can't stop rooting for Sam out loud. Claire is a gem and Fink is someone I'd love to drink with. 🥂
Loving this, really good stuff. Been watcihng Claire since she first played with Golfholics, she's always been great fun anytime she's on camera. NGL I'm not sure I could make 18 holes with Dave without alcohol or really good canaibis.
Dave don't change. You have an incredible passion for golf, a big heart with compassion towards others. I only heard positive comments towards your playing partners. If more people brought that positivity to life and golf the world would be better for it. Also your scratch. A lot of people don't understand a handicap is made by your best 8 rounds out of 20. As a 2-3, I have my good rounds around 73-75, but there are off days in the upper 70s or around 80 and I'm still a 3. I'm sure many people have not played a course from 7000 plus yards and how much tougher that is than their home 6000-6700 yard course.
Forget course management. The biggest error is somebody didn't understand that a 3 ball filming every shot was going to be a slow group. Either book less groups for the day or give them a large enough lead so they don't slow anybody down. Also only send 4 balls after them rather than 2 balls, especially if you have a hundred tee times booked
All the time and effort they put into hosting this group, with the goal of making their course a more desirable destination...to flush it down the toilet because some petty tyrant Marshall has to big dick the world because it's the most power he'll ever have in his life. Pathetic.
Ag bunker! Fink reminds me of Jack Black. He’s Mr. Positive and definitely means well. Claire’s swing is a teaching aid her cadence is contagious. Sam the patient man is holding his own amongst the pressure and chaos.
Haven’t finished the video yet but I gotta say Dave has grown on me quickly. Yeah he can be a bit much but I think he’s genuinely well meaning and honestly his antics got me laughing. This whole crew has been awesome to watch!
I was going to post the same. At first I thought he was a little much, but as we see more of Dave I realize he's sincere and he's genuinely pulling for everyone, and very positive. Had a complete reversal of opinion on Dave and I'm rooting for him. Nice job Dave!
For the last time, the handicap system is not an estimate of how many strokes over par you usually shoot. 4 handicap does not mean you typically shoot +4. Scratch does not mean you typically or even often shoot even par. That’s not how the handicap system work. It’s normal for a scratch to go shoot 10-12 over when playing tips at a harder course. Just look up how the handicap system works. You’re all probably a lower handicap than you think you are.
yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you watch his play around the greens? Tight lies or not, he's giving up a lot of strokes inside 100. The ball flight on his approaches was all over the place as well. It was as though he had no idea where the ball was going to go. He's an instructor in LA, they want motivators and gurus there. If he taught on the East Coast he would get laughed out of the clubhouse.
I'd like to start a thread where we add any excuses that Dave mentions. I'm 9 minutes in. 1. The lie of the perfect course. 2. Claire stepping on his line. 3. Sam's playing well so Dave isn't... 😅
I think he needs a golf lesson....that's the wonderful thing about guru starved LA, you can just be a hype man and motivator and people will hire you to do anything.
@@philo_beddoe4367 I get it... I used to coach high school, club, and college swimming. I could look at a stroke and fix it. But, I couldn't do it for myself.
What a beautiful course. I'm never one to like hot places but this is just gorgeous. And some amazing golf shots from all three. Not sure on the driving, lmao. But what a fun trip. Whats the bandage on Clair's arm? An injury or a preventative thing like taping wrists/knuckles?

The only bad aspect of Claire’s game is her ability to navigate a golf cart! 😂
Kind of sketchy to think she may be driving around in an SUV somewhere...

I’m sure the marketing department knew RGC was going to be there… they had to get permission. Some marketer dropped the ball
I worked at a golf course that cost $8.50 per nine and I would put people together if it was busy enough. I was 17... smh
100s of bookings and twosome sendouts is a fireable offense.
Or maybe if Dave didn't feel the need to be the center of attention and just play golf, they wouldn't have caused a back up.

that chipping/pitching motion is a recipe for disaster :D
And still loaded from last night😜
Omg 13:10 is just absolutely masterful editing with that subtle “cant always get what you want”
I had to rewatch it to see if I actually heard it.
I laughed so hard. That song brings me always flashback of Californication S01E01 and Hank fuckin' Moody.
It was perfect!
Here’s an idea for the course superintendent or marshall, whoever that was. How about you don’t schedule a promotional shoot and then book 100 two somes right after.
That guy was a total jackass
Promotion was from rgc, but it’s also a business! And golf .. slow golf is worse then bad golf
They should've been forced to pay for 5-6 time slots before them so they have a buffer. Poor planning on the course's part
