  • The Lagos Bus Rapid Transit System, also known as Lagos BRT, is a bus rapid transit system in Lagos State. It is regulated by LAMATA and currently operated by Primero Transport Services Limited.
The first phase of the Lagos BRT was opened on 17 March 2008, although it was initially slated for opening in November 2007. The initiative to build the system was initiated by the government of the previous governor, Bola Tinubu. It goes from Mile 12 through Ikorodu Road and Funsho Williams Avenue up to CMS. At the moment, the Lagos BRT Corridor has been extended from Mile 12 to Ikorodu, which is the second phase of BRT implementation. With the approval of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, the construction of a new BRT corridor along Oshodi to Abule-Egba has commenced under the supervision of LAMATA.26 bus shelters are offered along the Mile 12-CMS road; three bus terminals are also placed along the corridor (at Mile 12, Moshalashi and CMS), with the bus terminal at CMS designed to integrate with transport modes of rail and ferry that are planned for future construction by LAMATA.
Is Nigeria's BRT System The BEST in Africa?

The reason ppl trash talk lagos and feel lagos is not beautiful is bcos they always show the mainland part of lagos which is d mostly business and hustling place where their are alot of unkempt places. The island is very beautiful which unfortunately ppl who are ignorant don't even know. The island is more beautiful than most African nations capital and I say that with every seriousness and without been biased as a nigerian.

It's true BRT has it own lane, but of course its not every road will have a BRT lane, and once you get into the express road, the BRT joins regular road, Also if you were in nigeria's oshodi in 2010 it was one huge market and very crowed and unorganized but it is changing slowly. you can still see there is still a market there soon they will all leave.

There should be a standard on lagos roads, every roads in Lagos state must have a BRT lane and if anyone is caught using that lane, they must be fined irrespective of who they

I appeal to the leaders and government of Lagos to do everything possible to complete ongoing road projects to ease transportation problems in the state.
Foreign investors and tourists are ready to explore and do vacations in Nigeria - starting from Lagos -- in addition to millions of Africans in the diaspora. A couple of years could get us to that point.
    Nice video!

Funny you. Nigeria gets zero aid from nobody. All these developments are paid for by the govt from money generated locally and some loans.
Nigeria is the biggest oil producing country in Africa and 7th largest in the world. .let that sink in.
If it weren't for corruption, we will be giving loans to other African countries instead of them borrowing from China and getting into huge debt
