- Tonight I test out the Onetigris Bushcrafters sleeping bag on a colder night that I was expecting.
This bag turned out a lot warmer than I had thought it would be and also excellent value for money. Link to the bag is here:

Hi
Windy night there! What Fjallraven tent is it?
Abisko Shape 2. Awesome tent 👌
Nice tent ! It looks really stable in strong gusts.
Yeah it's pretty solid. Love this tent 👍
What is the name of the tent??
@@TheBoogeyMansBack it's the fjallraven abisko shape 2 👌
I am guessing a decent sleep mat helped with the temperature, all the same the bag did ok.
It's the lighttour mat. 5.8r Value but still my feet stayed warm which didn't normally happen no matter what bag I use. 👍
Looked like a good night out. A bivi bag would also increase the temp in the sleeping bag.
True. Increase the weight even more though. I reckon this would be a good bag to use just for a bivvy camp 👍
Im watching you amazing videos. Im always shocked. How close ylto civilization you always are. Come and camp in the US. Enjoy being in the middle of nowhere.
Thanks buddy. Yeah we are just so overpopulated here. You could go to the most remote place in the UK and still meet half a dozen people if it's a weekend 🙄 but then again we don't have bears, mountain lions and rattle snakes 😂👍
Like your hats…. Have you been Norway have you?
No, why?
Hello, Hope your well bud. Was just wondering how comfy is the light tor 5.8 sleeping Matt and is is it any good ?
Good thanks. I've been using it about a year now and had no problems with it. Sometimes it deflates slightly in the night but that's been me not sealing the valve properly. If you don't really push it in it can leak a bit. Other than that it's been warm and comfy. If you sit up you will bottom out so can get cold if sitting on but not when laying on even side sleeping. Really good for the money 👍
@@NoviceWildCamper Good to hear bud! Ohh great that's reassuring to hear. As I'm debating this one and seas to summit Ether lite xt Extreme but the pack size on it is very big compared to this.
I've also got the xtherm max large but it's huge in comparison so tend to use this. 👍
@@NoviceWildCamper which one would you say is more comfortable ?
@michaelnicholson1817 the x therm but only cos its thicker. Never been uncomfortable on the lighttour
There is a saying which surely everyone has heard, it is "Cast not a clout till May is out".
It means, don't go out without a coat or warm clothing till May is over, and in truth, it bares reckoning to. Frost, sleet and hail can often be experienced in April, especially in upland areas..... less often but even so still in May;...... and in lowland areas cool temps with harsh winds together can still sometimes provide a bitter experience for those unprepared.
Specially on dartmoor. I've been there in summer and had sunshine, rain and hail stones all in one evening.
I froze my behind off this weekend. Brought along a summer rated sleeping pad when the temps went down to 2°c overnight..... Turns out I'm not as tough as I thought I was!
🤣 mine was more accidental. Glad I had my light tour mat 👍
I knew my pad was underrated but didn't know I was overrated! 😁

I've been there. Waking up cold outside sucks!
It looks a heavy and bulky bag for how low the rating goes.
Also seems expensive for what it is.
For a synthetic bag it's not too bad a size and weight and the fact it did well down to near zero shows its better than most. I've used a synthetic bag from oex, ev300 before rated to -5 degrees and froze at +6 and its the same price. For £60 id love you to show me a better one. Yes it's 1.4kg but packsize isn't bad once compressed and it fitted in my pack along with all my gear and a massive tent 🤷🏼♂️
M8 but the1.4 kg tells me it’s real comfort rating is prob just above freezing, my snug pack jungle bag is rated at what your stating for it and it’s bout 800g and haif the size youd be freezing at +2
@Nofixedabode859 that's what in saying. They've underestimated their figures and I reckon it will go way lower as it did but for £59 it's a good bargain 👍
@NoviceWildCamper it depends if the bag is rated by self testing or by EN13537.
This is still highly variable depending on lots of factors that affect an individual on any given day. E.G. nutrition levels, mental composition on the day, core temp, clothing worn under, humidity, etc.
Silly as it potentially sounds. Wanting the bag to pass or fail testing can affect the perception of temperature within the bag. This is where the comfort, limit and extreme rating comes from, not the EN13537 (or ISO23537 in the US) rating, which gives a rating similar to the R-Value, that sleep pads have.
@nofixedabode859 Weight can be deceptive, based on the quality of the fill material. For example low 100gsm of 900 fillpower down, weighs the same as 100gsm or low grade synthetic fill and yet, will be significantly less effective.
@thewoodlandschoolltd3999 1, I dont want a bag to pass or fail. 2, it wouldn't make a blind but of difference yo the temperature. Otherwise you're saying that temp limits are controlled by the mind. I gave a fair and unbiased review as I always do. If its crap, I'll say its crap. I eat the sme type of food every night, I don't exercise to warm up before bed and I wear the same clothes and use the same mat. There no magic to this just real life testing and for some reason it's confusing. The bag performed better than its rating which is kore than can be said for a lot of bags. Simple. It's cheap. Simple. It's not the lightest as I stated but also lighter than others. Not sure what the issue is here.
Enjoyed that one mate. Gnarly weather there. Sleeping bag looked good. Glad it kept you warm and performed above its specifications.
Hoping my Lanshan holds up on the west highland way in a few weeks. Atb Dan
Cheers dan. I'm sure it will be fine so long as you've swapped the plastic rams hooks for metal 👍
Hard to find windbreaks.
You’re at the mercy of the strong winds
Good idea with the earplugs
I’ve never seen pot noodles with udon
I use udon noodles in stir fries and
break the noodles up so it’s easier to eat
That was a nice relaxing cozy video..take care 🇨🇦❤️🍜
Thanks sue. Yeah they were wierd and certainly not filling. Back to the usuals going forward 🤣👍
I had a bit more wind but no rain so still a noisy camp in Bucks. I 2nd your opinion on ITSU noodles they are pants
Yeah they were really not good 😐
Another awesome camp! Pretty gnarly wind aye 😎
Cheers. I've had worse tbh and that tent can take a good bashing 👍
I did my Easter wild camp on The Quantocks...absolutely deserted but mild and dry which was good as I was bivvying for my Tommy sleep out...schoolboy error as forgot the clocks changed so did a 10k tab back in the dark! Soba noodles for me but I had teriyaki and this time they gave me heartburn.....sleeping bag of choice for me Deuter😊
Love the teriyaki ones. I used to get heartburn but no longer. Thank god, horrific. 👍
Not pleasant in a bivvy with no gaviscon 😂
@@chrisarnold4709 🤣
I've been looking at the onetigris but still undecided. I don't use down and finding lightweight non-down is hard. What tent were you using?
It's the Fjallraven Abisko Shape 2. It's a great tent with so much space and the bag was really warm too. 👍
@@NoviceWildCamper Nice tent but ouch at the price. I've got the cloudpeak 2 at the moment which is 2.3 kg and looking for something lighter. Really my husband should buy me one 😀
@bobalinga anniversary gift? 🤣 its a great tent for the price tbh 👍
