Between Two Trees is a three-storey residence adapting to a need for varying levels of privacy. The design language of the home focuses on the fusion between Indian and Balinese architectural styles, while playing with natural materials.
One is welcomed into the house by two massive trees that become the entrance gateway to the building. The highlight of the home is the presence of a Nandi statue in the courtyard with a central skylight, flanked by 4 wooden Chettinad columns.
Principal Architect Rajesh Shivaram explains the design concept of this house, a composition of cubes, with private and public spaces carved within the lifting volumes.

Believe me this is so well planned especially the texture of materials and the entire light play! Architect have done an amazing job!!!! Kudos!
I totally lost it when he says this is at Jayanagar. Being a Kannadiga but from outside Bengaluru it is a LIFE GOAL for me to build a house in Jayanagar! I am 24 but I am already saving up just for that.
The home is perfect the area is perfect I am absolutely over whelmed for the House Owners, and if they are reading the comment section please invite me once to your house. Would absolutely love to experience it for few mins 😅
    From,
The person with a life goal to build a house at Jayanagar 🙏

One thing I love about Bangalore and South India as a whole that they don't cut tress. North Indians have no such sensibility.

    It's a beautiful house.
My doubt would always be, how would the residents maintain the house with so many different textures, nooks and crannies! Maintaining such houses becomes an arduous task.
I'm genuinely curious as to how they go about it.
