USA Built Hand-Carved Bluegrass Mandolin with K&K Pickup
A 2 point, F hole Mandolin built in 2009 by Chris Standridge of the Carver Mandolin Company in Washington State.
Engelmann Spruce top, hand carved and tap tuned. 2 piece big leaf maple AAAA flame back and sides, hands carved and graduated.
Flame maple neck with a chunky back profile, deep and very comfortable. It’s been ‘speed necked’ (the lacquer removed, sanded ultra smooth, oiled and polished). 28mm nut.
Nitro cellulose finish with a black top, fully bound, front, back and headstock.
Ebony fingerboard and bridge. Plays perfectly with minimal fret wear. The top has light signs of pick wear but an ebony abbreviated pickguard has done its job of protecting.
It is loud and has a deep, woody chop and bell like single notes.
Doyle Lawson played a Carver Mandolin (even as a Gibson endorsee) and there are very few around.
Fitted with a K&K Twin Spot pickup on an end pin Jack and comes with a fitted hard case.
